Parries are difficult in Taekwondo as moving the foot/leg with the hand is a 1 point penalty. We have some methods to maneuver around this pain, but they are difficult to time correctly. Hopefully, we can put this in another episode.
@@thetkdlab1060 Ah in that sense, sorry I didn't meant on official wtf matches I meant in personal defense or maybe ufc rules. My base is taekwondo, I practiced it and loved it, but the hand techniques in general are a little tricky to transition to non-TKD only fights
@@samydc310 This video isn't about personal defense or really any sort of martial arts practice outside of the very specific rule-set of Olympic-style sport taekwondo. That said, if you're looking to incorporate anything from sport taekwondo into other martial arts practice, I'd look at the more offensive power-based techniques and the long-range footwork. Anything defensive, close-range, or overly acrobatic generally doesn't make sense outside of this rule-set.
analyzing taekwondo blocks and defenses and also having trained him, I see and realize that this martial art is not effective, as jiu jitsu and muay thai are, taekwondo is not effective, in self defense or in real combat.
Thats because this is BS taekwondo, it is the wt Olympic style. Real taekwondo is itf and stems from North Korea and the top guys are as hard as nails. Oh and its full contact and we can punch to the head.
@@thetkdlab1060 I know kyokushin is tough tough, but I hate restrictions. And to be honest itf taekwondo do not allow sweeps, so maybe I'm being unfair. But I do think wt is a bit sporty and showy and less martial arts.
Belíssimo conteúdo de Taekwondo competitivo atual. Como não descobri esse canal antes? Obrigado por compartilhar 🇧🇷
Thank you so much sir 😍🤩😘
Point sparring this is good. Real fight, he needs ro fix his blocks FAST
Great tutorial!
This applies only to point competitions. Where punches to the head is not aloud. For what I see here.
Have u ever heard about "taekwondo"? 🤷🏻♂️
@@gustavoadolfovasquezperdom1208 Yes. My bad. I forgot that punches are aloud to the head even though they are not seen been use often.

It's not allowed. A lot of techniques in tkd work because they are protected by the rules

How about parries and counters?

Parrying kicks is really hard since legs are suppose to be stronger than your arms

Punching to the head is illegal, how lame.
Try itf taekwondo and man up.
Punches to the head are illegal in Kyokushin Karate as well. Should they also "man up"?
