This is just one of the things I Love about The Midnight Quilter...NOTHING she won't tackle and make it look easy. Retreat is on my bucket list and I would fill my bag with rotary cutter, mat, and MOST importantly my seam ripper!

This quilt is stunning! I think they can't get any more amazing and they always do!
My quilt retreat bag would include: pins, extra sewing machine needles, rotary cutter and folding mat with pressing side, travel iron, seam ripper, disappearing ink and chalk (I'm old school that way), my fabric scissors, wonder clips, wrist pin cushion, pattern and templates, quilting gloves, measuring tape and quilting rulers- and of course a notebook! I like to take notes while I'm making a project whether it be a quilt or something else so that I can remind myself of things that worked/didn't work throughout the process. Of course some gummy snacks (sour patch for me) and nuts for energy and protein because phew!
Thank you so much for your amazing show- as always. Can't wait for my preorder to come to work on my FMQ 😬😍😘

I never thought I would enjoy watching a quilting video as much as I enjoy yours. Your humor and the content are excellent. You put just enough of your cutting and sewing in to get the point across. Point get it haha. I've never completed a quilt, but you have inspired me to do so. Thank you so much Wanda P.S. The fact that Outlander is your favorite audio book make me love you all the more. Happy Quilting!

I have just bought fabric to do my very first quilt, super excited! unfortunately my daughter is only 8 months and just because its midnight there is no guarantee that the house is quiet :( but she's going to have to learn to sleep through if she wants a quilt!
As i'm a complete newbie i not sure what i would pack in my bag, probably safety pins and duck tape as in my eyes they can fix anything!
Thanks for a very inspiring show!

This giveaway is wonderful!! I have never been on a quilting retreat but I have a few sewing sisters and we get together a couple of times every month and sew all day. This bag would be great to pack my supplies in for the days that we meet. I would pack: thread, pins, rotary cutter, rulers, my special Harry Potter fabric (that I hide from my kids lol), and my best friend aka my seam ripper! And of course a snack...brownies! Love the Quilt Angela!

Angela you are too funny, don't ever change. I just love watching your videos. I get a week's worth of laughter out of each episode. I love quilt retreat time, just had 1 in August. Must have supplies: Apple Dapple Cake, top priority (requested each year) and of course rulers, scissors, bobbins, needles, etc. That Yazzii bag sure would make packing those supplies, minus the cake, so much easier. Thanks for sharing your talents.

I have no clue what I would put in my bag besides the essentials, thread, bobbins, scissors, rotary cutter, and of course a great bottle of wine! Watching your videos has been so excited to find some of my own time to quilt once winter gets here. Thank you!

I pack as though I am going away for a month. I could do with hiring a removal lorry to take all my stuff. Actually that could be a lucrative venture for a company. I would pack my worldy goods for a retreat eg, sewing machine, threads, tools, fabric, fabric, oh and fabric. Removal van collects my equipment and delivers it to the retreat (and back). I can have a separate refreshed and stress free trips and all my equipment and fabric is already there waiting for me. Without having to carry it. With space now in my car I can pack wine, chocolates and chocolate biscuits.

Angela you give me the courage to quilt my own work. Finished is better than not. I would page my must have supplies, like marking tools, thread, thread nippers, rotary cutter and small scissors, etc etc etc. You know everything I need to quilt, just smaller sizes. As far as games, well it's usually trying not to spill the special quilting juice on my quilt. Or my favorite piecing with out pins. If you have to piece with pins then playing piecing with bleeding is a favorite. I love your attitude and your sarcasm. Please keep the show going.

Not just for how easily you make it look, but your encouragement of close enough is good enough, and don't stress about it! I just finished my first baby quilt ( the free motion quilting ) the quilting wasn't great but good enough, and thanks to you I gave it to them anyhow. And they all loved it! I also love the quilt, it's gorgeous! Can't wait to see it quilted! Haha... your method of flattening the center point would totally be me if I made that quilt. Love your sense of humor!

Hi Angela: You absolutely must attend a quilt retreat (other than just a solo retreat). They are so much fun! I have attended a number of them and my favorite part is staying up really really late to try and get more piecing completed. I always seem to be the late owl in the group at every retreat. That is really when I get my best sewing done! Anyway, I can't say enough about Yazzii bags. I start out pretty organized with all my sewing supplies whether at a retreat, class, or home, and can quickly lose items. So all the Yazzii products I currently own help to keep me organized (especially when traveling) and make the piecing process go much smoother. I can actually find things while sewing! I love the "snacks" and "drinks" in the back section of your bag. That is such a wonderful idea because you can not attend a retreat without those "supplies" also! Popcorn could also easily be packed in the Yazzii bag since most places where retreats are held have access to a microwave. And of course, chocolate of any kind for me (I prefer chocolate and nuts so we could certainly share some M&M's Peanut snacks.) We could also mix things up a bit by bringing the "caramel" popcorn. It is so delicious. And, actually since this Yazzii bag is so large, I would fill this wonderful Yazzii bag with pretty much a larger variety of needed sewing supplies. There is always something that you need and it most likely is at home on your sewing table! And getting another Yazzii bag would be just in time for the 2nd Annual quilt retreat that I will be attending in Sonoma in February 2018! Keep doing what you doing Angela. I absolutely love your videos!

I was really about to drop out of quilting when I found your videos. You have put FUN back into quilting. Top picks for my bag would be my Karen Buckley serrated scissors and my favorite tool - my magical extendable magnet rod (from Auto Zone). After a few glasses of wine, the pins jump off the sewing table.

Generally I use shopping bags, so having a great bag to organize all the supplies would be wonderful. Can't go without the general supplies, but probably the most used supply is the quick quarter tools and tri-rec rulers. I never go anywhere without them.

I love your energy! Your episodes are so fun and uplifting to watch! I would bring some of the vintage fabric I've inherited from my grandmother, one of her patterns, and one of my favorite BlocLoc rulers to help me mimic the incredible skill my grandmother had! Xoxo! Thanks for the fun and informative vids!

Angela I love your show! I can think of a lot of possibilities for what I would pack in the bag. The one idea I have to make the bag "retreat ready" would be to put a removable label in each section (or in most of them) listing the items that go in that section. That way when I am packing for a retreat I can see at a glance what I need to put in the bag so I am ready to go.

Angela, love your show! Thx to you I have finally tried fmq! Not as fast as you but I did one whole quilt...60" sq. Not a biggy but enuf for a first timer I haven't been on a retreat either, but love the organization bag! I would pack, rotary cutter and extra blades, machine needles, thread, bobbins, quilting pins, magnetic pin holder, marking pins, seam ripper, because I always need it, scissors, mini iron, chocolate is my drug of choice!

Retreats are great. I attended my first one a couple of months ago. Apart from all but the kitchen sink, pack some ear plugs as someone always snores in shared accommodation. Pack your sense of humour too and have a ball. Retreats rock.

I’ve never been to a retreat but I’m sure they must be fun. If I had that bag I’d probably put all my quilting supplies I’ve managed to collect so far in it. Which is not a lot because I just started quilting. Thanks for doing these shows they are really helpful and entertaining.

I definitely want to try this-your tutorials make it seem so simple that even a novice like me would have a chance to make something good looking. I would pack plenty of coffee and diet soda in the bag along with all of the quilting supplies, and even though I doubt I would have time for any games, , corn hole is a good one to take for all ages

Thank you for taking the time to make and share with us all of your videos. I love just sitting watching them and have learned so much. Then I like to sit and draw the designs and next try to stitch them out. I have a long way to go, but loving the process. Thank you again.

Thanks again Angela, I am constantly inspired by your videos and challenged to learn new techniques but 'Y' seams are scary. Our retreats always incorporate a road trip to the local quilting juice supply shop, the quilting tea rooms, the quilting bakery and of course the local quilting fabric & notions store, so in some ways it's not about what you pack to take but what you pack to bring home, so always take a spare bag. We always take gifts (FQs) for the others, and a NEW project and then some UFO's for midnight to dawn shift but the most important thing is to take baby wipes or similar, for when the chocolate or cake or whatever leaves you with sticky fingers. :)

I also have not been to a retreat but I know that it would be enjoyable because of the connections with the other quilters. I do feel like when you do the midnight quilt I am enjoying the type of connections I would if I was at a retreat. You always show new quilting techniques which is like learning from fellow quilter at a retreat.

My go to bits are my rotary cutter and mat, stitch ripper, snips, travel iron, heatproof mat, pins and a magnet (especially as they go flying so often!). I also tend to have wine and crisps (chips).

I almost fainted when you opened that bag!! The best I've seen! I know what I'll be dreaming of tonight! In addition to all the little sewing tools we use like rotary cutters, replacement blades, threads, markers, pins, etc., a bottle of wine, cork screw, and snacks plus a pad of paper and pencil would be in mine. The pad? To jot down any inspired quilting pattern I think of while sipping .. I mean piecing! If you listen, material speaks to us!

First of all, Angela is inspirational! As a new quilter, I was intimidated by all the various quilting patterns and techniques. But, thanks to Angela I bought my first to 2 quilt kits from Craftsy and I was not disappointed. I now have one quilt completed and working on the other. I thoroughly enjoy her style of quilting, makes me feel I can at least quilt straight or wavy lines on my quilts. As for the Yazzii Companion, it will carry all the tools which currently reside in ziplock bags in a shoe box and hopefully room for her book, Free Motion Meandering!

These bags are just super. I would be sure to include my long tweezers. I use them to hold edges that seem too delicate to pin, like triangle corners, to help with sewing curves, pulling pins as I sew, and to help me thread my machine. Love your tutorials.

I recently got the sewing bug again, and I'm fairly new to quilting. I've never been to a quilting retreat, but would love to eventually go to one! Love your tutorial! Will definitely be using the wavy lines!
I'd have to pack my cutting mat and rotary cutter, scissors, pins, marking pens/chalks, my all-important (a.k.a. best friend) seam ripper, rulers, sewing machine and presser feet, threads, patterns, paper, and the fabrics and batting for my quilt! Of course, I'll have to make sure there's room for some chocolate in there, too!

I love seeing your videos and knowing I'm not the only Mom with younger kids that sneaks midnight quilting time in! I am always asked how do I find the time, my usual answer is that I make the time when they are sleeping because I can make the fabric listen, the kids not so reliable on listening :D.
Ohhh what to pack. . . .I have some tools I cannot live without, my rotary cutter and glove, (have gotten too many stitches trying to cut while the boys are still awake to have more sew time later. .. . I have a cutting glove now LOL) the usual sewing supplies along with power bar just in case things are going so well I don't want to stop :)
Keep burning the night oil, you aren't alone!

This was a very "fun" video! My husband isn't well, so now that I can't leave him to go to quilt retreats, I found the midnight Quilt shows a real delight, and makes me feel like I can still participate. I would take everything everyone else mentioned, plus a seat cushion! Those chairs at the retreats get mighty hard after a number of hours!

Hi Angela!! Love your videos. I don't drink wine but love chocolate, so that definitely goes in the bag. Then of course, it's rotary cutters, scissors, iron, blades and thread. I have been known to forget the thread!! The best game we ever played at a quilt retreat had to be what's your biggest fib!!

I love the retreat bag. I have been a fiber artist for many years and have never attended a quilting retreat due to unfortunate circumstances. I plan to attend at least one before I am too ancient to go! For now I really enjoy The Midnight Quilt Show and look forward to each episode. My husband is an IT network engineer, and he is not happy with me if I don't wait to watch each one with him! I love it! I have even purchased the HQ 710 and the Sweet Sixteen because I was able to see Angela use them many times on RUclips. I have added them to my workroom with my other machines. I have been down with a spinal nerve injury for three months and I am dying to get back to quilting. I have built up quite a stash because I have been ordering from Craftsy! Ok so I would stock some M & M's most definitely, and also the tool you use for cutting the threads between your speed pieced pieces. I would also add some Davids tea because I love it while I am creating beautiful things and it would be a great thing to share with my new retreat friends! I love bags and long before they were popular, everyone called me the bag lady! I would love to get back into teaching as my MBA winds down and I get back on my feet, so this bag would be great to have ready with all of my tools and goodies! I love the wine pouch which I could give to my adult student since I don't drink! Haha! Thank you so much for everything! All my best, Robyn Libby Haertel

How fun! Picking up my granddaughter from school has become an hour and a half wait in line, part of my day! Hoping the school will get a handle on this but until then, my Yazzii Crafter's Companion would have supplies that allow me to play while I wait, the pattern, the tablet for muse music, fabric, scissors. thread, needles. Oh I am having such fun just dreaming it up. Plus the basic pens and pencils for my calendar/sketchbook that I practice machine quilting designs in. Got to quit writing and get to playing.

One retreat we played Strip Rummoli with 2" strips of fabric. I cut a lot of strips for the game and came home with way more then I cut. I still have a bin of strips. Love the great retreat sewing bag. It would be great for my next retreat next month.
