Hi Angela: I am new to quilting. I am a retired Flight Attendant, and semi disabled, and needed something awesome to learn. I have been sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc., forever......but quilting! Whew. Im in love. I already learned so much from you, but yet, have a thousand questions. I tried FMQ today. Gutsy of me. I need practice for sure. Love your videos. Barbara Ruzzene from DELRAY BEACH....... The mitered corner segment was awesome
Angela, "once is a mistake but twice is a pattern". How many times have I heard you use that line in regards to quilting? I love it. So much so that my husband and I are laying pavers in front of our house and while we were trying to figure out a pattern I used your line. Doesn't matter how they go as long as they are in. Square corners are nice but not always necessary. Quilting knowledge transcends simply sewing!
Hi Angela, I've done mitered corners before, but this is by far, the simplest, easiest way to do them. Sweet. Next time I'll do it this way. Life doesn't always have to be hard! :-) Thank you!
Hi Angela, This is a beautiful quilt, the colors are outstanding and the quilting, well you know, it is outstanding too! I am so very excited with your wonderful easy technique for doing mitered borders. I must tell you, I have never done them out of fear of messing them up and not really knowing how, so I just left them alone. But thanks to YOU, I am certainly going to try this out and can hardly wait. And after seeing the quilting with all the rulers, well need I say more, I have Slim, but now will get the rest of the buddies. I have been spreading you around to my group that meets twice a month and want them to watch your show and I think most of them will be very interested in trying out ruler work. One of them wants me to bring a machine to our townhall to demonstrate them. Soooooo my dear Angela, I need to go back to your Craftsy class and step it up in learning.... Thank you so very much for all of your work and time that you put into these for all of us. You are a gem and God Bless you..... Claudia
Just came across The Midnight Quilting Show and LOVE it. Angela you are so much fun to watch and a great teacher. Have been very afraid of quilting my quilts but you make it look so easy. I'm going to have to get past my fear and try it. You have several quilt patterns that I'm going to make. Thank you, Thank you!!
Such a simple pattern ... the fabric also a huge part to making that special look. The mitered corner is so simple to make with this method. This one is one I must try.
Hi from Australia, Angela you always look like you are having a ball and you make it look soooo easy. This video with the rulers for quilting was no different!! Love your work thanks.
Thank you so much Angela, I really really love 💕 that quilt. And those corners are really really much easier than any I’ve seen before.....And quilting with rulers is the way to go. xxx Mags
Love how the gradient colors came together and that mitre corner trick. Most of all I loved tracking your adorable pink chickadee as it moved around 💕 Happy Easter 💕
Appreciated grandpa's border miter trick! Quilting tips are always a great resource as a beginner. I've watched the Craftsy class and loved the way you break down all the ruler choices, marking options, and how to achieve the FMQ results we hope for! Between you, the kids, and the pink chick it was just too fun! Happy Easter! See you next show!
You make machine quilting look so easy....not for me ....but I would love to try using rulers. Your tutorials are always great! Thanks so much for sharing your talent and knowledge.
1) Loved the quilt and fabric, omg!!! 2) Loved how easy everything was explained, especially the mitred boarders!!! 3) Loved your quilting, how you can still do it with no grip gloves!!! 4) Loved the ruler quilting, a "you can quilt it" feeling!!! 5) Loved the quilt you made, will be purchasing the pattern and fabric right now!!! 6) Your kids will love their baskets and Easter fun, because your an amazing woman!!! Still working on your placemats 💖 Happy Easter!!! HUGE HUGS
Simplicity turns into beautiful...just love the patterns you choose...Happy Easter! I am still working on mastering your rulers...thanks to Craftsy Unlimited I will be able to watch and re-watch your classes until I have them mastered!
I, like Emily, have always heard that you have to start quilting in the center. If not, game changer!!! Hoping the Easter bunny brings me some rulers in my basket!!
Angela please let us know when you cut the 6 inch strips into smaller strips what are the widths of those strips. Is it 1.5 inches and a 3 inch or is it 1.75 and 2? Help!!!
Thank you Angela for showing us how to use your rulers in such a creative way I bought all your rulers and this really gives me ideas on how to use them you’re so awesome
Angela, I just love having you on in the background while I sew. I'm not even quilting yet. I just think you are a stitch! Love your humor and your channel.
I really like this quilt! And I saw the little pink chick too...by the end of the video I was half expecting you to turn around and say something to it as it looked over your shoulder from your comfy chair. Happy Easter.
I taught myself to quilt using books and the Fons and Porter TV show (pre-RUclips). I began to design my own patterns and was so tired of writing out "Half Square Triangles" and "Quarter Square Triangles" so I started writing HST and QST. I got some funny looks from the quilting community at the time, as well as the constant question- "What is a HST??" And now, 15+ years later, I come back to quilting and I'm finding people using the abbreviations!!
I liked the border trick as well. And really happy to see all those quilting with your rulers. Can't wait to use them myself asap. My problem ? I keep doing "tops" - but soon soon I'm ready.
Love Love Love this quilt, the colour mixes are fabulous.....I want to know what your children are going to do with the scrappy bits of fabric in their Easter baskets....hmm, egg cosies perhaps.
Love this quilt and the colours. I've ordered my rulers......so excited for them to arrive. I'm a little nervous about using them but looking forward to the challenge! your mitered corner method looks so easy, so I will give it a go!

Dilly dilly Angela! Have a lovely Easter (gorgeous quilt btw). I am not a quilter myself but I love watching your videos :) it's definitely something I want to try. I have always been terrible at arts and crafts though so I'm scared to buy the stuff in case it just turns out terrible.
Remember it takes lots and lots of practice and mine never turn out perfect and I have been quilting 25 years. If you decide to start just start with a easy pattern. Good luck!
