Ok so here's where i stand. And for the record i own the Rane 72. The only difference between the 2 is the tension for the cross fader and the mag 4 faders also silent cue. The mag 4 faders will be available for the 72 as well as the silent cue update soon so 72 users will have those 2 updates. Like some one else mentioned the screen comes in handy for many reasons. The main one is just in case there's an issue with your laptop screen. If your monitor craps out and the laptop itself is still functioning you can still see and access your library/effects and everything to continue your gig. The price point is great for budget people who chose not to invest a lot. I personally rather the on board screen and less buttons but that's my personal preference. I also love the touch effect feature that the 72 offers. Either way smart marketing on there end to create 2 wonderful mixers for 2 different buyers
my idea is: get a real hardware sampling-functions in "analog / phono"-mode, on the akai buttons. that would be incredible. on-the-fly-slicing like in serato but for vinyl or cd. that would be a workflow-invention, for producing too - together with a nice overdub-loop mode. see the mixer as an instrument, together with the turntable. there are a lot of DJs out there who wanna leave the computer, and a lot of them are new / fresh kids. aight!
I feel Silent Cue is only because the “Rane 12” doesn’t play soon as you hit the play button. It revs up. I hope the next set has a faster torque on the start/play. Pressing play/start & a cue at the same time isn’t so bad though.
1CBRDUDE I don’t see how units are still having that issue. It should be available to adjust in the settings AND REALLY work when applied. Especially if the unit is a controller and not actual vinyl with needles.
I'm new to DJ'ing so I'm curious as to why it's called a "battle" mixer. Do you smash your competition over the head with it? That can get very expensive and land you a trip to the pokey.
So I really want a good 3 channel Serato mixer with pads on it and the only mixer I can find is the Mixars Quattro, but I don't like the pad arrangement and the efx and some of the other features. So would connecting the DDJ-SB2 via usb, be best way to get more channels?
Actually I think I want to use a CDJ as a 3rd table. Can I use a CDJ connected usb to the laptop, then the rca's out to the Seventy Session, then use the Session knob as a fader? Also how would I use decks 1 & 2 on the Seventy and the CDJ as deck 3 in Serato?
This is better than the S9 because Rane mixers allow you to record separate tracks in Abelton for mixes. I own the S9 and the 72 and I will be adding this to the collection.
@@djkelaux those platters are soo heavy last time I tried using any denons I couldnt move the platters fast enough to do any chirps or tears there so heavy n bulky.
they have a very similar price, in euros is 1739 for the 72 and 1599 for the 70, and honestly i feel like theres no big differences between the mixers and 140 euros of difference? WHAT?! the price for the 70 should be around 1300 and it will bring all the buyers
pioneer didn't need to drop anything as far as mixers the dim s9 mixer has been the standard and still sells today ... Rane did a great job of combating the success that the djm s9 is having, But pioneer did not need to drop a product That had major success with what they put out previously .. but I'm sure a bomb is coming
I wouldnt personally if you have a 72 that thing has saved me soo many times when my laptop screen freezes I still have my full library I can scroll through on the fly.
Terrible explanation about why the 70 is different from the S9. S9 doesn't have usb connection for rane 12s. This is the only benefit for the 70 and 72 vs S9. Dropped the ball homie.
@@nnguyen3482 I have bought a reloop elite and opted against the rane 72. I come from the rane 57 and wanted a scratch mixer with good faders (reloop has three awesome feeling mini innofader pros inside, which are also way less clicky and noisy than on the 72, which is especially great for late night cutting) , good controls over serato (awesome loop section and great pads and individual pad modes for the decks, which the pioneer djm s9 does not have) and an intuitive fx layout (you don't have too many internal fx, but the filters are great and you can stack three individual serato fx on top of the internal fx/filter on the mixer).I don't really care for not having the paddle switches for the fx (as on the pioneer djm s9 and the 72). But the reloop elite has a lot of dope features. Especially for the price! It is built to last and you can almost buy two of the reloops' for the price of a 72. I still believe this will be the BEST selling 2 channel battle mixer.
Thank you for the video! I’m in the process of getting a RANE Seventy. And this helps out a lot.
Rane has the smoothest crossfaders
7:52 Did I got this right, i can plug in drum machines like Maschine Mk3? What cable do i need for this, and what port do I need to use on Maschine ?
InMusic Brand been going Hard Lately 😂 an I’m here for it !!!!
I love my 12’s but I’m kinda hoping they come out with a controller to compete with ddj-1000. Maybe same platters as sc6000m
I'm smitten by this mixer!!!!
I never liked the knobs on rate mixers. but thats just a preference
Its 2020 and nobody yet has convince me that i need more than a crossfader and 2 turntables to get the job done..and vinyl of course😁
The only other things I use are filters and an echo. I honestly hate how the DMCs have become the "finger drum championships"
@1CBRDUDE The day I get a second turntable I am gonna start releasing routines.
Which one would you want to get on a plane to fly and to go do a gig, your Mac with 10k or more files or a few records on a plane? 🤣🤣🤣
Don't complain yall. It's technology.
My 57 is still SOLID!
Hello there! Great video! I just wanted to ask if I can play with a rane 70 mixer and a laptop with serato, without any controllers.

For Lauderdale Fl 🔥🔥🔥 I’m looking scratch school here !
Does the rane 70 come with pitch an time free or do you have to purchase it separately
It has a license

Can I record my mixes on ableton in separate lines similar to what the seventy-two can do?
Will the Rane 70 mixer work with the Denon SC5000M Media Players in Standalone Mode.
Thanks

is this Rane 70 going to be able to stand alone and control Serato with out the use of other hardware like the seventy two?
pretty sure cause it unlocks the full version of Serato? not sure if they dedicated a pad mode? but sure you can map yourself
How do the pads light up??
Damn, and i'm here still using a TTM56 lol. But it's time for an upgrade..
Hi
Very nice review, so is post fader e crossfader fx? with both effects? and who knows when is ready for sell and the price in €?
Thanks
Hi Jamie, i’m aware that the seventy doesn’t have slicer in the performance pads, can we map it to one of the user mode?
You know. I love my pioneer efx500. Can it be used on this mixer ?
reminds of the Pioneer DJM-909 but modern, i dont like the heaphone front layout tough, i prefer to have the headphone layout on top of the mixer
Can the FX be different for each channel like the 72. Can the FX be assigned to the Sample like the 72?
Nice. No but individual hardware Flex FX per channel.
This is better than the S9 because Rane mixers allow you to record separate tracks in Abelton for mixes. I own the S9 and the 72 and I will be adding this to the collection.
what do u mean rane allow you to record separate tracks in abelton? pioneer or rane is same record no?
ruclips.net/video/gsg2W05Eqew/видео.html
Rane mixers allow separate track recording. It doesn’t work on the S9. Check out the link I’ve attached.
is it possible to show up just with the laptop (with serato) and this mixer? how do you custom map it?
Is it possible to Change the midi Color (via XML File) for each Pad in midi Mode?
Hi, can this rane mixer sync music on both decks?
Are the Flex FX stackable? or just the Serato Fx?
Dope review! Can the effects be use on the mic channel for example the reverb?
yes...
You convinced me!
Is this a step down from 72? How much ?
when is the release day?
does this have serato built in or do you need a seperate box?
It supports DVS so no box needed :)
Are the Mic inputs stereo?
when will it be available to buy at the store?

Now make the Rane 10 or Rane 8’s and we would be good
They really need to make a cdj 12's with the reloop pads basicly tonearm less moving platter with a full cdj functions with reloop cues.
Dj KodeRedd Denon Sc6000m that Just was announced is a Great solution for that! It Has a 8.5 inch motorized Platter though and no CD Drive.

Everyone's dropping sick stuff rn except for pioneer lmao
But they made a knock off mixer I guess
Pioneer is making money on their controllers and S9 still. They dont need to drop anything. Maybe a Pioneer version of the Rane 12
Matej Hantabál pioneer s9 is already sick.
1CBRDUDE do you have the s9? It doesn’t get simpler than the s9. Super nice and simple layout that works.

Inmusic out here remaking their products taking away stuff and making it better. Rane 72 becomes rane 70 and Mpc live becomes Mpc one
This could be, very well, the DJM-S9 "Killer"...
Naw, Reloop Elite still the S9 killer
My S9 is for sale now... 😀

I might have to downgrade... I never thought the screens were very useful

Knowhardfeelings if you own a 72 you would have to be a complete idiot to get rid of it for this, lol. You can’t be serious
so it’s basically an s9
This is what you call streamlined??
Why is the rane output is so low
Yup got rid of s9 for 70 the independent pads the selling point ...
70 is more streamlined and not complicated
S7 or Rane seventy
Rane is like the leather on a mazarati
Serato update firmware on 72! Fix the headphone volume for christ sakes we cant even work in the club man volume is ridiculously low
or you an just buy super sensitive headphones like AKG K361
