      A complete protein is when the food contains all 9 ESSENTIAL amino acids, like beef, chicken etc. On the other hand, eg, lentils are “high in protein” but it is missing one of the essential amino acid, ‘tryptophan’ - to make it complete it must be paired with rice which will supply that missing amino.
