This is my morning mojo. I watch your video as soon as I wake up at 5 AM, but of course I can’t do it until I get home from school. But it lets me know what I will be doing in the evening. Thank you. I enjoy your tutorials.
That's amazing. I love that!
Being without power for 7 days thanks to Helene, I really needed to paint. Doing this fun tutorial helped me relax and be thankful that power was my only loss. And guess what after I finished my painting, power was restored! Love your relaxing tutorials!
I'm so glad your power is back on!!
These little paintings are such a treat!❤
I have to admit I see the next days video pop up as I’m going to bed. Yep … can’t fall asleep until I watch it! Next day I’m raring to go create that lesson❤
Ok I love that so much!!
i got behind on my paintings but carved out some time today and it is just what i needed. i am used to painting with chalk paint or acrylics so any water control practice is a good thing for me!
Beautiful flowers. Really excited to do this one when I get done with errands.
Audrey, you are such a patient instructor! I do find myself more 'into' the creation than the 'rule' you are illustrating. I'll try to refocus on the latter!!
All the techniques will add up, plus 30 days of painting practice!
Loved today’s tutorial! Thank you for sharing. I love these little 3 x 3 cards. So cute! I am learning so much and overcoming the fear of “non-perfect” that keeps me from painting. Thank you, Audrey! ❤
Awe, I'm so glad you're here and doing this! It's so cool to see how we grow when we keep working at things.
OMG I have learned sooo much - just painting the mallard 🦆 & the first 3days of 2024 Inktober - thank you 🙏🏻 very much for your teaching style - you make it easier than some others I’ve seen on RUclips- when you show the paints you choose & explain the water saturation of the brush it makes so much sense AND….showing your oops’es & how you work through them helps too 😊❤
Glad the mess ups help! Haha. :) :)
I enjoyed this lesson, I enjoyed it so much I did another one. I am going to use these for birthday cards. Thank you Audrey. My friend is doing watercolor with you too! I'm so excited for her and many more who get on and try something I have always wanted to do but didn't know how. I'm a happy camper. I'm going to take you camping with me next week.💕💕💕
I’m going camping with you next week! Amazing:)
This was fun! I feel like I’m right beside and you are coaching me! I sincere appreciate all the effort you have gone to for us! Love my flowers! Thank you❤
I feel like you guys are right beside me too! I love that.
Who knew I could do this????? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I love this comment! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wonderful “Artist Tip” on one of your shorts I watched this morning. You suggested that at the beginning of our art journey we may fall prey to “imposter syndrome”. Your advice was embracing an all-around confidence knowing we have the final say about our art and we don’t need to seek the approval of others! …even if we are married to one of them! LOL! We got this!
Yeah, don't let your partner decide if your art is good! What do they know anyway? lol It's your own eye that matters!! :)
This is a nice exercise when you start painting, like me. Thanks for the tips Audrey!
I’m so glad!
I love all flowers, but my Mom had a beautiful snowball bush that I loved growing up and my Grandma who lived next to us always grew bearded irises down the side of the road that were beautiful. My Grandma also grew a double flowered Japanese Kerria bush that I ended up transplanting a piece of it to my home..... I honestly think that it is my absolute favorite because it has these beautiful bright yellow delicate frilly flowers on it.
Ok, so I just looked up the differences between Japanese Kerria bush vs forsythia and I love them both! So beautiful. Love these sweet memories.
My favorite real flowers are roses and hydrangeas. My most favorite “flowers” were these little purple weeds that my son when he was younger would pick for me anytime we’d go walking. He’d have a entire bouquet stuck in his litttle hands anxious to give them to me. He’s 24 now but when I see them on my walks, I still think of that special time!
Ugh, this is the sweetest!!
I clicked on the link for your lamp… so funny, I already have it in my cart.
Your tutorial was very informative! Thanks for all the info on the water and the paint used and adjustments 👏🥰
Glad it was helpful!
Audrey - you are awesome at instruction! I’m learning so much - I never thought I’d be able to create with watercolor! Favorite flower: Cleome. (Queen series, white. An annual)
Just looked these up! They're beautiful and remind me a bit of phlox, which I love!
I am learning so much! Love your lessons!
I'm so glad!
Today tip is very helpful, i am still working on it, love these tiny painting. I got a tiny easel to display them after each day
What a great idea! I’m glad you’re liking these. :)
Ugh!! I always have a difficult time with flowers. Like poppies,.! I can't paint them for the life of me! But these were a little easier for me so thank you for this!❤
Try to simplify things in your mind as much as possible. With a poppy maybe try one petal at a time. Don't give up! All these little skills stack up and you won't believe what you'll be able to do. :)
My favorite flower is the daffodil, very similar to your story.
Twins :)
I have messed up every painting that I have done so far 😆. I end up fiddling with them trying to fix a spot only to mess it up worse than it was. I'm a perfectionist, so it is hard to leave it alone when I think a part of it doesn't look good. 🙄 I also keep forgetting and sticking my hand in a spot I just painted... I'm definitely going to have to get a heat tool if I decide to keep going with this hobby.
All of this gets easier the more you paint! Be easy on yourself!
My favorite flower is the Rose❤
My favorite scent is Rose!
Awesome...the leaf on the yellow flower looks magical....I don't think I got that effect 😅
Try painting a bunch of them! It's the practice that pays off!
Mine tuned out so bad. You make it look so easy.
Try a bunch! I think this series can give the impression that your first one should turn out great, but it never worked that way for me when I first began. If I did this tutorial I'd do it a handful of times to try to make sense of the technique and then to try to figure out how to implement it! You've got this!!
Thank you. I am committed to this Inktober!
This takes some practice with water.
Yes! It totally does. It's a great one to practice over and over for water control. It'll help with all the rest!
Cleaning WHILE you cook? People do that?
haha. :)
