Too cool! The one I almost got didn’t have that part with the window in it. I wanted to use it for coffee and a heater for my little tarp shelter. I’m happy to see a complete one. It will really be cool to see it with the mica window!👍🏻
The base ??? I'm not tracking , HEY that is great news , cant wait to hear your feedback after they are running again as they should !!!!!!! Awesome Chris !!!!! 👌 good luck !
@@doinsngoins - rewatch your video... that base you sat the stove on... is really the base you’d sit on top of the stove and put the iron on top of that so the iron would get hot, but not sooty
Steve it's like the Beatrice stove i have a 2 burner Beatrice stove i just restored and i have a 1 burner Beatrice stove it will be restored this year. Great stoves for boiling water.
That is awesome! I'm sure any kind of cooking pot or pan will work on there. But I think one of those Japanese bento lunch boxes would work great. Or the square...I think they're Yugoslavian or Dutch???..mess kits. What are you using for fuel? I'm not sure it will work, but I think it will cuz it has a wick, but lamp oil? I would use the ultra-pure. It burns pretty clean and better for burning inside.
'Old' does not mean bad or useless. Unlike the modern day (crap) produced, that MIGHT last one lifetime (IF well protected, and not used often), back then they manufactured things that were meant to be reliable/durable, and IF protected, something that could be handed down to your children. I would worry about this tipping over, esp. if you had a pan on top and were cooking/stirring/agitating food, but that would be easily remedied. Nice unit!
Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it. I'm not sure if you somehow thought that I was thinking because it was old. It was worthless, but that certainly is not the case. I love old things. I collect old things. I restore old things. I live in the past, not the present that could be good and could be bad. Anyway, I value your opinion regardless. Take care
@@doinsngoins You and I are cut from the same cloth, perspective/hobby-wise! I'm a huge believer in reliability/functionality in anything, but the quality of things today cast a very poor shadow compared to what was made before in many ways. :-)
I have a double sad iron heater . The flat part were the wick is turned up to light is rusted . I was going to use a tin can to make new parts for it but not sure that will work . I am a woman and not really sure I got it at a sale for $5 no kidding other than the part where the wick goes it is all in fantastic shape but that is the part you really need to be able to turn up a wick to burn it .
Very cool! I think you're right; the window will restore the designed draft and you'll get a cleaner burn. I must have missed the video where you painted it, etc. I'll have to go back and get caught up. 👍👍
@@doinsngoins i went to one of their web sites and the price was beyond ridiculous close to 500.00 for a small Chinese stove. I guess the days of cheap Chinese goods are over.
I used Kerosene, and I'm pretty confident that is proper , what sucks.... Kerosene is sooty and stinks, I would love to see someone try alcohol or a smokeless lamp oil.

Love it❤,seeing the flames through the window makes me feel warm, nice Steve 😊
Thank you , yes I love it , its like a little cozy fireplace 😀
SWEET STEVE. glad you grabbed it 👍
Yep, they were used in the old days to heat the old irons used for pressing clothes. As a bonus they would also provide light to work by.
Thank you for the Info , thank you for the kindness and comment 😊
😍 WHOA BABY !!! That is Art in Motion with function !
I wonder if that kerosene cleaner stuff would help it 🤔
Super cool either way man 💯
Not sure , once the window is back in , it might help , I hope , 🙏
Interesting stove for sure i will bet you are right
So cool! Like a little fireplace you can cook on.
Yes , and you just reminded me. I Never recived my mica ..... Hrmmm , Have a great week Robert , please 🙏 be safe , Tell Mathew I said 👋 hi

thinking it is still smokey/smoking since there was a hole in the back of and its creating an up draft like that of a wood stove
I agree , the mica should do the job , also dropping the wick down to just a fraction above the opening really helped.

How did I just now get this notification? 17 hours ago. YT slow with the notifications. Cool little cooker. Did you get the flame to settle?
Same , notifications are weird to happen to me all the time , technology Brother technology.
When I get that window covered, Im pretty confident it will lean out !

Thank you so much , I appreciate that and wish the same for you 💗
Kerosene and after the wick is broke in,if that is the right term, Adjust to height it does not smoke, just like a kerosene lamp.
Thank you , I have this figured out now pretty well , thank you 😊

@@doinsngoins oops, I misunderstood. 🤷♂️ It looks good. The mica window is going to be the bee's knees. 😀🙃😀
@Eldon Ryder I agree, I will have a window in for coffee time , and I will show it again 😀
Happy Easter, friend!
@@doinsngoins and to you, my friend!
Could use for cooking in a pinch I guess. Did the smoking ever stop?
Still working on that , we'll see after the mica window gets installed, thanks Randino
That’s really neat!
THANKS KAT
When I first saw it l thought it was a toaster.. but you are correct a iron heater..
I Had no idea ???? Carolina Chris spoted it from the estate sale video , haaaahaaa, Im so stoked , Im going to cook on it , or try !
Thanks Patrick 😊
what's it run on Fission? None so far out of all the videos ive watched show what kind of fuel it takes.
Kerosene
@@doinsngoins i went to one of their web sites and the price was beyond ridiculous close to 500.00 for a small Chinese stove. I guess the days of cheap Chinese goods are over.
For clarity, what is the fuel you use and is it adaptable, what other fuels can be used?
I used Kerosene, and I'm pretty confident that is proper , what sucks.... Kerosene is sooty and stinks, I would love to see someone try alcohol or a smokeless lamp oil.
That’s so cool brother!
What kind of fuel do you use in that?
Im using K1 kerosene, based on my research this it what these heaters use .
I think you need to use lamp oil
Ok ! I'm using kerosene and it's smoky , that makes sense , thanks 😊 🙏
Winnerwell made a replica of this check it out
Absolutely will thank you !
Yellow bottle heet, denatured alcohol, and kerosene does not make soot. Try that.
Thank you !
