Esteemed Mr. Fantano, Upon thy esteemed review of the latest opus, *Bando Stone and the New World* by the illustrious Childish Gambino, I am compelled to pen an epistle that doth extol the manifold virtues of this magnum opus, which, in mine humble estimation, doth merit naught but the highest accolades-a perfect rating of ten. Firstly, prithee consider the sonic architecture of this album, which doth transcend mere auditory pleasure and ascendeth into the realm of the sublime. Gambino hath crafted a tapestry of sound that seamlessly weaveth together diverse genres, from the soulful strains of R&B to the pulsating rhythms of modern hip-hop. Each track is a meticulous composition, a symphony of intricate beats and harmonious melodies that doth transport the listener to an otherworldly dimension. Secondly, the lyrical prowess exhibited herein is of such a calibre that it doth rival the poetic works of the most revered bards of yore. Gambino's verses are replete with profound introspections, societal commentary, and an exploration of the human condition that is both poignant and erudite. His ability to intertwine personal narrative with universal themes is a testament to his unparalleled artistry and intellectual acuity. Moreover, the thematic cohesion of *Bando Stone and the New World* is nothing short of extraordinary. The album doth present a compelling narrative arc, a veritable odyssey through the vicissitudes of existence in the modern world. Each song doth serve as a chapter in this grand epic, with motifs and leitmotifs that recur and evolve, imbuing the work with a sense of unity and purpose that is rare in contemporary music. Furthermore, the production quality is of the highest order, a paragon of sonic engineering. The clarity and depth of sound, the precision of mixing, and the innovative use of technology all coalesce to create an auditory experience that is immersive and awe-inspiring. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in every note, every pause, and every crescendo, rendering the album a masterpiece of modern production. In summation, *Bando Stone and the New World* by Childish Gambino is an exemplar of musical genius, a tour de force that doth elevate the art form to new heights. It is an album that demandeth not only to be heard but to be studied, pondered, and cherished. I know he's been divisive for years but now not even his explanations or comparisons really make sense anymore he's just spewing words without a full thought or meaning behind them, you can REALLY tell here
So I didn’t watch the stream or really care for this album either but I will agree that he seems off lately. I’m still trying to figure out why he didn’t review normandi’s album
I now see why the Lithonia music video exists. It’s so that we can relate to and see ourselves eyes exploding at this review. He’s a genius!, he set up the feeling for us!
I get your reasoning for reviewing it so low, although I wish you talked more on *_Dadvocate_* , as I think it’s easily one of the better tracks on the album. It’s kinda similar to “Awaken My Love!” but with more stripped back production and more Singer-Songwriter aesthetics, that’s really nice on the ears, with it’s simple guitar plucks, catchy chorus, and serene vocals.
Wild that y'all were expecting Fantano to give Gambino his flowers. Imo as a biased fan it's a great album, at least an 8. That being said, I would've been stunned to see him give anything higher than a 6. He has been lukewarm since day 1, at least he's consistent about it...
I personally hated this album and turned it off 75% through, it was my first gambino album listen and I couldn't tell if I didn't like his music or if I didn't like his new sound.
Gotta agree, I was never a die hard fan but enjoyed a lot of his music. This album is kinda weird, has good ideas, but his singing/rapping just didn’t hit super hard
I think the last time I chimed in was the Crawler review, so it's been a minute, but damn this is the most off the mark I feel like Anthony has been in a while. After sitting with this record for about a week I can confidently say it's one of the strongest of the year. I do agree that the record is a bit of a mixed sonic experience, but exponentially more often than not it's all hitting an extremely high batting average compared to other popular music right now. I think the fact that the highs are so high can trick you into disliking certain songs more - sort of like a music version of that average looking person standing next to two hotter people stereotype. The album sounds way more like a compilation than a cohesive sonic experience, which hurts it for me more than it helps it for me, but even then I can't ignore that the songs themselves are, much more often than not, doing what they're trying to do very, very well. It's a minimum 7 for me at my most absolutely critical.
I'm pretty disappointed Gambino didn't wait until the movie was ready to drop before releasing the album. I've avoided listening to the full tracklist because I figure it'll hit better with context, but with no set release date I feel like I'm spinning my wheels
Go see Gambino on Tour, he’s doing an Arena Tour for this album & maybe that’s why he didn’t release them around the same time. I’m looking forward to the movie, the Tour should be special though. Idk which way is best to capitalize on it but with the way he’s releasing them I feel Bando Stone & The New World should have a long life

@@etherealfolkboy yeah, I can understand him not caring for this album, it's just his ability to explain why is fading
No
Why did I actually get my hopes up this time 😭
Thanks for the wrong take of the week appreciate it ✌️
I now see why the Lithonia music video exists. It’s so that we can relate to and see ourselves eyes exploding at this review. He’s a genius!, he set up the feeling for us!
fantano try not to give childish gambino a bad rating challenge go
I get your reasoning for reviewing it so low, although I wish you talked more on *_Dadvocate_* , as I think it’s easily one of the better tracks on the album.
It’s kinda similar to “Awaken My Love!” but with more stripped back production and more Singer-Songwriter aesthetics, that’s really nice on the ears, with it’s simple guitar plucks, catchy chorus, and serene vocals.
Dadvocate such a great song lol
Wild that y'all were expecting Fantano to give Gambino his flowers. Imo as a biased fan it's a great album, at least an 8. That being said, I would've been stunned to see him give anything higher than a 6. He has been lukewarm since day 1, at least he's consistent about it...
fandango looks at gambino and sees a worse Tyler the creator, it feels like
I personally hated this album and turned it off 75% through, it was my first gambino album listen and I couldn't tell if I didn't like his music or if I didn't like his new sound.
Growing up i love his music but for what ever reason i have trouble listening to this album. In fact, i have trouble revisiting most of his stuff.
Gotta agree, I was never a die hard fan but enjoyed a lot of his music. This album is kinda weird, has good ideas, but his singing/rapping just didn’t hit super hard
Yeah I like some of his songs but overall he is a better producer and singer rather than rapper.
Crazy gesture you are doing in the thumbnail mr fantano
This album lowkey needs an instrumental version ngl. Sometimes when listening to it I tune out the words and just listen to the vibes
If this album was called "Camp" he'd give it a 2
I really enjoyed this album, it does feel incomplete without the movie but I do like all the songs even if they feel separate and not a whole work
how do you always have the worst opinion on music
this man just hates Childish Gambino fr give the man his flowers bruh
Shoutout to Fantano for representing the deaf community 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
I had already rated this album an 8. IDK what to do now
yeah 8 for me too
anthony silly
I'm sorry, a LIGHT FIVE???
As some guy have pointed out, this is the Yeezus of Childish Gambino, and you know how much Melon likes Yeezus
Light five 🤨🤨🤨
You would give it a 10 if it was called to pimp a bando stone
Cornyyyyyy
Haha
fantano listening to the album
fantano reviewing the album
Ffs do a classic review of The Prodigy - The Fat of Land man! Really interested in your take on this earthshattering classic!
He's just angry he got jump scared by the lithonia video…
Totally valid review as always, but "what little vocal chops glover has"??? What??? Glover is an incredible vocalist!
Bro dont like music
Lithonia is a 9/10 song easily. Album may be a little disjointed but that song HITS
Finally someone acknowledges how amazing that song is
Dadvocate and A Place Where Love Goes were incredible tracks mane
Yes! What a way to finish the album off
I'm pretty disappointed Gambino didn't wait until the movie was ready to drop before releasing the album.
Idk which way is best to capitalize on it but with the way he’s releasing them I feel Bando Stone & The New World should have a long life
I’ll turn the 5 into an 8 for you like a kid trying to trick his parents on a report card ❤
Davocate and A Place Where Love Goes are too good to not even get a mention cmon now
