The part when people start standing up when Jerry's doing Slim shady gets me every time. Don't even know why it's so funny.
It’s when the audience try and stand up and sit down lol
This is why I’m here!
Absolute genius isn’t it🤣 that was always one of my favourite bits back in the day
It's bloody hilarious.
Ayy that's how old people were like back in those days. Remind me when in chippy and ordered fish supper with mushy pea and order was called out whole of customer stand up like ... ayy they were good ol days like
When people start standing up at 2:18! 😂😂
Why didn’t I ever notice that before 🤣 I rewatch the entire series at least once a month 🤣
Ayy back in them days old folk didn't know of the slim shady so like when old chip shop when call out fish supper and mushy pea everyone stood up as whole shop ordered mushy peas like ... ayy were good time them .. a whole generation gone rest in peace ayy
Lolz😂
“That wasn’t in the hamper!”
Most underrated line of the show!
Fact!!!
To be fair, after Kenny's heroic Vietnam tour with the SAS, glittering boxing career, hammering Robert Di Nero at swingball in Pwllheli, fighting forest fires in Mexico, giving Bonnie Langford the old dirty no-pants-dance on the mattress gymnastics, and getting Jackie Chan some cans of paint... I reckon it's entirely believable he borrowed Britney's schoolgirl outfit off her for a weekend.
@@Truffle_Pup that work in Mexico is probably true as the character can speak Spanish pretty well!
Loved Phoenix Nights but also brought home a degree of sadness for me. Growing up the Working Men's clubs were a stable part of the community (Friday evening a bottle of cola and a bag of crisps) but sadly they have now gone and the people I knew have either passed on or moved away. Will never have that community experience again.
I hope we will. Or at least we will in another way.
depressing twat aint ya
So so true , brilliant times
Thank Tony Blair !!! 😢
Yes mate good times!
Spencer as Gary Glitter is one of the funniest things i've seen
Do u wanna be in my gang my gang
Just when he falls off stage and the crowd cheers
"I'm the man who put the gang in bang"
Spencer was a key player in this comedy. If I knew a Spencer in real life, I'd take him for a beer. His intentions are good regardless of his ability..
It’s when he falls
I was gutted when this series came to an end. Hilarious from start to finish.
Agree, closest thing is Benidorm.
@@KingKong-do8cj Phoenix nights much better
@@frankiegoestohwood9799 agreed mate definitely
Benidorm is shite
I know it was absolutely brilliant ... we don't get comedy like this anymore .. now it's all so pc concentrated it's not even funny - just lectures and brainwashing in diversity lessons
"Well, you know they were coming? Well, now they're not" 🤣
“Don’t start getting sarcastic Jerry!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Slim shady in a bolton accent 😂😂😂
Is he not from Bolton then? Never heard of him.
Someone like that wouldn't be too out of place there...
The best thing that Peter Kay has ever done. Great writing by him and Neil.
Every kin working men's club late 70s early 80s, having it.
Drums and organ, pie an' peas... Embassy Club... Top entertainers... Best of order f' 'turn, thank you, please... :-)
I grew up in Bolton and this looks just how some places looked in early 2000s (last time I were there, but probably still same now)
This was my life as a club musician in the mid 80s
@@chriselyr2484 much the same here in rural west yorks
It went on far longer than that. I played darts around the working men's clubs in Kent during the late 80's and early 90's and they were still putting stuff like this on.
That lulu impression is spot on😂😂
The looks on the audience faces are just priceless, plus Meat Loaf on a moped...
The best of British comedy. All wonderfully acted, line after line of extraordinarily, genius writing 👏👏
I haven't seen this in 20 years and i'm crying laughing
Absolutely brilliant... The funny thing is there are social clubs up and down the country exactly like this!! 🤣🤣
And they're fantastic...
@@davidhoward2487 always had a right laugh in these kinda clubs
This show is absolutely genius
Yeah and me on a couple of occasions went in ffs🤦♂️ ,if it wasn't for ''Olive '' that caught my eye with her blue rinse i would have walked out after the first time Delano 🙄
Long may the last
This was such a totally brilliant series. Let’s hope for some more.
Such a phenomenal ensemble cast but It'll never happen unfortunately. Peter Kays ego got in the way and its been 20 years now.
Some things are better left
At 4.40 when Brian gets with the program, I honestly thought I couldn't laugh any harder.. When Billy liar starts rocking as Britney Spears and Spencer says "that weren't in t'hamper" I genuinely realised I was capable of crying tears of joy..! I never laughed so hard and sadly I've never laughed so hard again since that moment of comedy brilliance.. The way they finally all pulled together as a team because of their love of the Phoenix was just outstanding..
God bless you Peter K and team :) X
It's the "Close yer legs, you slut!" bit that gets me laughing afterwards.
@@GenGamesUniverse Absolutely..! Lol 😆
I am crying with laughter. Utterly brilliant.
loved Phoenix Nights. it's real "bawl your eyes out" funny!
absolute classic phoenix nights Mr kays best work in my opinion cried myself laughing when this came out early 2000
Les Alanos doing the drum introduction for Meat Loaf. Gets me every time that.
It's my favourite bit 😂
Absolute gem of a series... Pure quality comedy, love it
Meat loaf gets me every time 🤣🤣🤣
Reading the lyrics of a piece of paper as well 😂😂😂 pure gold
It's when he mumbles 😅
Gary glitter 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Shame they didn't show Ray Von singing Adam and the ants
Hahahaha the Brittney Spears one buckled me laughing
We all know Jerry would've won for that spot on rendition of Real Slim Shady!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
‘So won’t the bishbishbish please stand up’
this always makes me laugh and there is not much to laugh about these days . so wish he would do a new series. 🙏
Kenny getting the lyrics out 🤣🤣🤣🤣
A part of British culture this is, what would Britain be without him
“That wasn’t in the hamper” 😂😂😂
Jerry should’ve done his black bin bags song, loved that one!
yeah cause there on offer till september
Denise Rushen, forget me nots..
"Come rip with me.. "

@@Hellwyck how stupid of me but i don't care, its alright am not a danger to society cause i can't spell, and yes its not at its finest and without you i'd have got away with it.
Jesus saves
Loved Phoenix Nights. It was very northern which may not have appealed to everyone but at its best it was absolutely hilarious.
Yes, it based in Bolton. But there are many people down south who get it! There were many working men's clubs down south as well! There are any more commonalities than differences between the so called South - North divide when you get to that working class / council estate way of life.
Put the bang in gang LOL
Man alive I miss the old clubland days in Lancs. I were just a kid but I remember my Grandma would have 1 glass of gin and tonic and be out like a light barely breathing, and my Grandad would have 15 pints of Guinness in 3 hours, never stand up, never got to the toilet, never say a word to anyone unless he wanted another pint, then leave with my Grandma floating about grabbing his arm like a lost little feather, slinking out the door without even saying goodbye. Until next time we meet, RIP you old heroes. That is how you have a night out when you've seen it all.
Too true. Me mates mam n dad got to final of 'egg dump'. Belter egg. He went toilet, came back wife had eaten the egg! They were on fer winning 50 quid. Lol. Big up the Working mens clubs!
Fantastic show wish Mr Kay would make more and car share love them
This was one of your best programmes!
That wasnt in hamper 🤣 britney spears does he wanna book me sounded like it 🤣
well u know how they where coming well now they're not 🤣🤣🤣 brilliant
This was one of the best parts in the entire series! Brilliant!
Brilliant stuff! Looks like I'll be dusting off the DVD again.... 😎
4:35 "Alright, shut your mouth!" 🤣
Would of loved a series 3 or Max and Paddy 2
They're menna be doing a season 3 mate
Gerroff ya dirty bastard. Paddy has needs lol
They allready wrote it years ago but never got around to doing it because of other commitments, i bet it wouldnt be applicable now, comedy has changed,
@@gaz8280 I doubt that. It would still get attention. I'm 18 and me n my mates love Phoenix nights hahahha
I can remember I was a teen at the time got in and watched this show. Most naturally funniest show I've ever seen. 20 plus years on and I still love it. Why wouldn't you do it one last time for your fans. Xx
Outstanding!!! It never gets old
Come on come on. Absolutely Brilliant
Class.. That's what we need out now.
This programme was pure class , the Eminem parody gets me creasing 😂 ❤
Best thing I've ever watched
“Ant ‘n’ Dec” dancin’ to Lulu had me crying with laughter 😂
Preference his rendition of "come and get your black bin bags" than skim shady.
Come and get your real slim shadys guaranteed to keep the sun out
Heavy duty black bin bags, on offer 'till december.
I dunno about that. It's pretty close but 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Never get fed up watching this clip
Absolute genius.
Absolutely brilliant!! Bring it back!
3:38 classic Brian Potter 😂😂😂
2:38 Imagine the outcry if they put this on TV nowadays 😂
@Mister Physics that was a bit rude
Do you know who Gary glitter was?
@Mister Physics Oh fuck off childish spaccer

@@raddit1449 Yes that's the joke.
It's the Tories who say people are cancelling things.
They said the left are cancelling xmas - that was proven to be bollocks.
They said the left are cancelling poppies - that was proven to be bollocks.
Stop voting right wing and you'll stop cancel culture.
The Britney one tho 😂😂😂
I live 10 minutes from Farnworth love how local this was
“Does he wanna book me”.. “sounded like book” 😅😅
CLASS
"That wasn't in the hamper.... "
The fact jerry is saying the lyrics please stand up and the oldies do! 😂
Just watched both series and max and paddy for the first time in ages and I still p-ssed myself laughing 😂
Fave line of all time “we all know why that is don’t we? Too much trumpet polishing” “Ey toilet mouth, there’s a childs bike outside”. Genius.
Or when he’s briefing the comedy acts - “Nothing blue, there’s a photo of her Majesty the Queen out there and as far as you lot are concerned she might as well be sat in t’front row!”
shokuwarrior another quality one there x
please stand up ... superb !
Absolute gold
"Don't be sarcastic" 🤣
3:37 Brian's face
God this was such a totally brilliant series wasn't it? The permanent tiger face paint... 😆 I've just remembered.
GAry glitter omg is the best ever 😍 ❤️
That's a younger Diane Morgan in the red dress at the start
"What do you mean they're not coming?"
"Well you know they were coming? Well now they're not."
Imagine if that were a real social club it would be a great night out
One of the best of the modern era
Absolute class this... pee myself everytime I watch it xx
I miss Butlins😂
One of the funniest comedies ever! Shame many of them fell out with Peter Kay. The Gary Glitter part had me in fits of laughter (before I get flamed! it was because it was so inappropriate.).
"Hey that wasn't in the hamper!"
You didn't include Ray von and les alanos doing Adam and the antz
I laughed before I watched it. So funny...
Gary Glitter tribute 😂😂😂😂😂
Ooh Barbara Nice.....Barbara as in Streisand & Nice as in the Biscuit!!! 😜
😅😅😅 still makes me cry laughing ...classic 😅😅😅
Takes you back to when we could have a laugh and no one gets offended amazing show. 😂 😂 Just had shit day this cheered me up.
The tories are the ones getting offended. Stop voting for right wing governments.

Pissing my self here proper comedy peter kay funny as fuckerys
Gary still got it lol😂😂😂😂
Bring it back 🎉
To most people this is a comedy, to northern people it's a documentary
Underrated comment there is still places like this every weekend up there.
Absolute shout great comment
There were many working men's clubs down south as well! There are any more commonalities than differences between the so called South - North divide when you get to that working class / council estate way of life. So it resonated down South as well.
Never thought I’d see Gary Glitter complain about a schoolgirl.
At least 300 times now 🙃💪🏼🤣🤣
There's nothing this fun in the 2020s.
Ha ha love Gary glitter ✨
I love Peter kay
The Britney Spears guy "He wanted to book me" Eh no it sounded like book , classic
Please bring a phoenix nights back.
If you've never watched Phoenix Nights you need to get it watched.
How dare you... Where have you lived if you haven't 🙄👽
@Helmut Schmacker Where are you and you could always buy the dvd online.
You mean, 'gerrit bluudy watched, lad!'
Its great with audio commentary too
Comedy tv at its finest
*2:12* He could've done a Dexy's song since he had the dungarees on 😂
Put the gang in bang
The sings where there. Did we just choose to ignore them?
This so funnnnnny 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
