As much as you try to be serious Gary Jeff comes along with a parody of your conversation with jokes, facial expressions and animated arm, hand and body movements. It's easy to see you two have been friends for quite a while and the interaction is wonderful to watch.

That knurled knob looks a bit like the handle you can screw into the side of a lever action rifles hammer. My old Winchester Ranger .30 -.30 had one just like that, made it easier to operate the hammer with gloves on. I've seen them on Marlins as well.
Another good vid Gaz ! Hey on your SDC, pop that coil cover off and give it a good wash then put back on and duct tape the seal.. this will prevent dirt getting in and giving false signals.. it was a problem with us Aussies getting tiny iron stones in there.. And tape the black knuckle joint near the coil so it doesn't wear too quick.. hope this helps mate !

Thanks for your response. It's 4:38 a.m. and I'm checking the radar and it shows some rain. And more to come hopefully. I got my pan and some screen mesh classifiers last week so Sunday I went out and played in the gravel. And got a snuffer bottle of black material it was quite relaxing and hard work 😎💪👍

A good time to research for places that are best with low water, and also some small hydraulic workings that get overlooked. Perhaps the fire will have opened a few places to detect. I'm going to visit one old Hydro pit that was almost impossible to access for the roads being totally overgrown. It was in the burn area of the fire so maybe I can take a chain saw in and access it.

We made it down to the river at our claim and was hoping the snow and rain had washed some workings clean. Found a couple of pieces and then hiked to an old small hydraulic pit on the side of the hill. There were only about 10 giant river boulders and everything else was jagged quartz rock and broken rock. I’m not sure if they just busted the bedrock up or if it was just coming out of the hill like that and they were washing it down. Gonna poke around more and see what I find. Good luck guys!
Had tons of fun going along for the hike.Me personally would have traveled strait up rather than going the long way.Good idea to always have a couple of good ropes to ascend up the hill don;t you think? David out.

I went out detecting last Saturday and I noticed that some of the poison oak was starting to bud. I'm guessing you will see small leaves in a couple of weeks.

I noticed that you have a lot of black sand on your beaches in California in one of Robert Ferguson's beach metal detecting and wonder how much flower gold is at the beach! Iv'e watched a few videos with a man and his wife using a gold cube to run the black sand from the beach with really good success wonder if you have ever tried getting gold from beach sand.
two things if its making a noise and no gold or iron ..its not ground balance properly and thats easy to fix or the ground is very wet and iron dust try when the ground is dryer

I see you cutting vegetation and digging rocks out of the hillside and in some parts of the country that can get you invited to leave. Sometimes in handcuffs. Is this privet property or public property or unclaimed ground or what? I'm not asking for location, just clarification as to who owns the land. Maybe you folks on the west coast regulate land different than us folks on the east coast.

I did not like the fit, could not keep them on my head. They did not have very good separation, all the targets sounded the same. They just felt cheep, they felt like they were going to brake if you dropped them. They did break after about 4 trips out.

The lack of a significant flood this winter is a disappointment. However, there's ancient channel up in the hydraulic pits that hasn't seen a boulder rolling flood for 30 million years. We won't let the lack of a recent flood slow us down in the hydraulic pits. In summer, the rivers will also be low and slow for sniping and gravity sluicing. Even if it stays dry as a bone, its going to be great summer.
trust the machine i think theres probobly more there cos if your getting average about .3 then theres most always lots of smaller bits .15 .1 .o5 that size ..you no the song go low and slow ..the very small bits will be picked up by the center of the coil so over lap a lot if your in a patch or a good spot
