I love the fact that the crowd is absolutely silent for the quiet parts, not clapping or talking over the parts where there's "nothing happening" on stage
Cayque Sales a lot of Post Metal shows are like that where the crowd are just in their own world standing with their eyes closed even because of the way the music makes them react! I personally don't mind it and do it myself tbh
It's already implied that the music is fucking amazing, but can we please appreciate the VJ for a second? The goddamn visuals are fucking incredible. If you close your eyes while just listening to AMENRA, it'll taking you somewhere, but being able to listen with your eyes open and still being in that place is fucking incredible.
saw them the first time in 2003 in Merksplas, Belgium. I was only 15 at the time and it was one of the first shows i've ever seen in my life, besides going with my parents. When it was over i just knew i wasnt ever going to see any show this great ever, not from any band. And to this day there havent been a lot of bands that did better, maybe 1 or 2. the only ones are Lugubrum the year after presenting their "De vette cuecken" cd. and the other one might be System of a Down concert in 2015 in Amsterdam. Still today i get blown away at how good amenra is, fuck man!
Whenever I'm at home and want to listen to Amenra, I always come back to this video. The performance is magnificent. I regret not attending Roadburn this year...
I was there for both sets, down by the right corner of the stage. I've never been one to go back and re-watch performances, but I have been obsessing over Amenra since Roadburn. And I will watch these multiple times. Thanks so much for uploading!!
While I wasn't at this particular show (Just went for the three days this year), the performances of Amenra I have seen are some of the most emotionally heavy shows that I've ever attended. The whole show, but especially the last two or three minutes are absolutely breathtaking. Thanks for the upload, great quality!
Well Converge wasn't part of the bill on the night I saw them, just Amenra and Neurosis (the full bill -Amenra/Converge/Neurosis did play the next night at Thalia Hall). I didn't mind though. I've never really gotten into Converge (nothing against then, they just don't hit that spot for me), and I was basically there for Neurosis. Wasn't real familiar with Amenra before the show, but they blew me away. And yes, it was a fantastic venue to see those two bands.
They are all amazing bands but I would say of the three Converge is probably, just by sound, matches up the least. An intimate night with Amenra and Neurosis is a keeper for sure.
I just caught them with Converge in Philly. Surprisingly, most people didn't know who they were but the consensus was that they blew everyone away once they finished. Colin told me they're coming back next year, so watch out for em
no idea what he's saying. never heard them before. the reverence in the pit... recognizable applause... applause? most impressive music to command such a thing. i've never heard applause at any concert save classical format. very ominous sound. very heavy. i like this.
I love the builds to their shit. Thanks to black for using them as his theme. Now I’m diving deep into their material. Love everything I’ve heard so far
Damn this is my first time hearing these guys and they almost sound like if converge and Isis had a baby band. But they also have their own sound. I'm loving this shit.
Cult of Luna were the band who started the festival! They were insane! Not to mention that I personally went to everything that was a side project of Scott Kelly, SvT and Colin! Haha it was amazing!
Actually Branded USB sticks containing footage you could only get on that USB that hung on a chain that were all personally hand made by the singer. How awful!
How is this boring? In the past few years all that I have seen in any other sub-genre of metal is stagnant. Thrash sounds like very other song is the Toxic Waltz...nothing new, no emotion. Music is art and it should be based on raw emotion and this is the perfect example of it...I really don't know what you're talking about and actually I feel kind of sorry for you if your personality is shallow in such a way that you can't tap into this music. Rant over :)))
What do you mean "in any other"? This is the same post-metal-atmospheric-sludge-whatever-the-fuck that's been recycled over and over for the past decade.
What I mean is that they are using their style of music to actually send through their artistic vision and pour every drop of emotion and intensity into their music. In other words it's not just a rehashing of the emotionless empty metal that we see in 80% of other releases!
00:17 "Boden - Spijt"
11:04 "Razoreater"
17:57 "Aorte. Nous Sommes Du Même Sang"
26:45 "Terziele"
29:32 "Nowena | 9.10"
35:53 "Am Kreuz"
43:14 "Silver needle. Golden nail"
50:37 BAM, the end.
thx
Now THAT'S how you start a fucking performance
And end one too
49:56 Yeah Frank didn't know what to do haha
This was without doubt the best concert of my entire fucking life.
Jealous jealous jealous...and a bit happy for you. ;-)
Same, Miri
Saw them again this year at Roadburn.
Incredible
They were better this year for me

It’s also Roadburn fest

My thought exactly this was an entire vibe
Live AMENRA is an experience.

+Corey Walden I attended only the second show, but I fell into deep Amenra rabbithole afterwards as well!

One of the greatest bands of modern metal
thank you for the great full set! thanks to you and the great quality this seems to be a nice way to capture the concert's atmosphere!
Just saw Amenra (opening for Neurosis) a couple of nights ago at the Empty Bottle in Chicago. Absolutely mesmerizing.
what a great intimate venue to see Amenra and Neurosis and Converge.

pure silence...pure rage...pure ritual.
pure beauty

This is so ASMR I can't even... Brilliant footage
Still here. I've accounted for at least a thousand of these almost 40K views.
You have to have 40K different IP addresses to do that, just sayin'
BEEN THERE, SEEN THAT!
SURVIVED!
Awesome performance!!!
Avessi la certezza di vedere un live così lo pagherei anche con un mio testicolo♡
I love this drummer. It is really him who makes this so evil and freaky...
Thanks for sharing
Many thanks!
I think i might have just had an eargasm
I watch this daily... I just have to
the closest I've seen to a show like this was Neurosis15+ years ago. neurosis neurot label is perfect for amenra.
They will come. To my country. I need to learn how to breath again.
oh my fucking god
I feel like if a perfect circle was black metal that this is what they’d sound like
Badass!
does anybody have the video from background ?
Well played camera guy!!
najboljnost.
Hey man, did you catch Neurosis / Cult of Luna?
other world my friend
Cult of Luna were the band who started the festival! They were insane! Not to mention that I personally went to everything that was a side project of Scott Kelly, SvT and Colin! Haha it was amazing!
Dude Edud I did the same lol.
Still seeking to see the dislike bar...
Anyone taking these guys seriously, remember they sold branded USB-sticks at one point. Such utter tools.
Actually Branded USB sticks containing footage you could only get on that USB that hung on a chain that were all personally hand made by the singer. How awful!
You sound like the biggest fuckin tool yourself hahahaha
I respect but i don´t like this kind of music,to much boring for me.
go listen metallica

I don´t need to feel sorry for me, this music doesn´t appeal to me, it´s a matter of personal taste.
