No other review can beat this one! I have owned a 2010 SantaFe and currently have 2016 SantaFe. It has always been a very practical option and value for money in its class at least from what I have seen over the last 10+ years. 2024 model is taking to the next level for sure. Well done Hyundai!
Thank you!

This is the best most detailed review I have seen! We have owned a 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy for 2 weeks now, and it is amazing, but if not for your detailed explanation of its functions, we would still be lost!!! There is so much to learn. Your review was super helpful so thank you for taking the time to do this!!!
My pleasure!
The mystery button is a fingerprint scanner! It facilitates a valet mode that will secure your personal data. It will also facilitate starting the vehicle without the key fob.
Awesome!
Was about to suggest that, as well. The Genesis has that button on the console. Having used a fingerprint scanner on a laptop, though, I would much prefer one that could be reached by BOTH hands. Having had one hand bandaged made the scanner useless until the opposing finger was encoded.
Nice!
I think it also verify user also can add a pin if finger print doesn't work
I have a calligraphy hybrid on order and I am beyond excited. I’ve watched bout 30 videos and this one is by far the best. You did a superb job in all aspects. Thank you, it was very helpful.
Wow thank you!
Your comments are so true and accurate. This is the absolute best rundown with showcasing this new model. One other thing, so many videos are critical of the rear end of the vehicle. I think it’s fine. There is nothing ugly in this vehicle whatsoever. I’d love to hear what ppl say is so ugly about it. The vehicles rear end is very practical. That rear opening is mega practical
Me tooo. So excited
Incredible detail. Thank you. I’m in the US and I bought the Calligraphy hybrid Santa Fe. The car is amazing.
Thank you for the comment! Congratulations on your purchase!
You always put out an amazing example of how informative videos should be presented. While I wasn’t a fan of this new design direction, I’ve grown to tolerate it enough to order a ‘25 calligraphy hybrid. Once I have it I’ll be coming back here for a refresh.
Thank you! I appreciate the nice comment!
Answered tons of questions! Excellent, thanks for taking the time to make this presentation.
My pleasure! Thx for the comment!
Very informative! Most reviews are basic, I wanted to know how the features work, and actual specs and real world thoughts. This helped me make my decision, thx again! Sweet socks🎉
Thank you for the comment! Finally somebody references my socks lol
Love my limited so far. Feels great. Looks great. plenty of space. plenty of tech.
Right on!
i purchased the 2024 SEL gas model. I know have 6500 miles and I just love it. Great to drive, super quiet, tremendous pickup and the technology is amazing. You really do have to read the entire handbook for all of the benefits! Noticeably, the car is very quiet. The gas mileage is exceptional as I've received up to 30 miles per gallon on the highway.
Right on! Congratulations! Thank you for the comment!
2 press to unlock. This can be used as a safety feature. From outside, putting fingers into handle twice opens all doors. One time and only driver door opens. Keeping all other doors locked may prevent someone entering car uninvited. Same with the options of door unlock upon park and engine off. We had all doors unlock upon shift to Park. Until I saw another video suggesting not using this, again, for safety reasons. It just means that when I back the car to the house to pick up my wife and shift to Park, I must manually unlock the doors for her to enter. But in a shopping mall, all doors remain locked when shifting to Park or turning off the car. I control when doors are unlocked thusly preventing uninvited entering in public places.
Thank you for you comment...
Yeah the reason I don't enable it on this one, is I find it annoying to have to put your hand in the handle twice.
On models with a physical button, it's simpler. So for those, I enable two press unlock.
Of course, during delivery, I explain everything to the client and see what the wanna do
Hi there. I’m in Australia and have a hybrid Santa Fe Calligraphy on order. Currently it’s somewhere in the Pacific Ocean floating over to me. I test drove a hybrid calligraphy and loved the drive so much I ordered one immediately.
I’ve tried to watch as many videos as possible to become a bit more familiar with features and controls. Your presentation is by far the best of the best. You covered more than all the other videos put together. When my vehicle finally arrives I’ll have a great head start with familiarisation. Thanks heaps. I’m really appreciative of your efforts.
My pleasure, thanks for the comment!
What colour combo did you get?
I can't decide between the colours - pebble blue, titanium silver, or abyss black or crystal sage. 4 options. And interior - forest beige OR black?
@@dnajournal4321 I got pebble blue with ink black interior. I don’t think the Us is getting pebble blue.
Pebble blue is really nice. Many ppl have commented on how nice that colour is
Little round button is fingerprint identification for customized dashboard
Thx!
This is one of the best most in depth reviews of this gorgeous car!!! When will you have a review of the hybrid with trend package?
Thanks!
We probably won't see a hybrid until about August
I just bought the Limited edition yesterday and absolutely love it. I have been watching this vehicle since the auto show back in October and November. it has exceeded my expectations. the drive and handling are phenomenal, plenty of power. still learning all the tech on it but that's what RUclips University is for. The lane assist comes in great on the highway. My wife stated it had more options and features than her friends Mercedes GLB250.
Thanks for the comment!
Excellent review. You made it fun and informative! It's a beautiful car.
Thank you!
Great review, I just bought one so this was helpful with understanding more of the features.
Glad I could help!
Thank you for a very thorough review of the infotainment system. I took one for a test drive last Friday (Ultimate Calligraphy) and found the position of the rearview camera kind of high - had no idea there were brightness and aim controls on the bottom! That will come in super handy on Saturday when we drive it home. :) It's going to look great in the driveway with my Santa Cruz. (3 years next month and about to roll 110,000km. LOVE IT!)
Right on! Congratulations!
Love your video mate. Great and very details. Hopefully you will make another review on the driving experience with dct transmission engine. Once again, thank you. 😊
Thanks for the comment!
It does look like a Land Rover, but it's still an awesome design.
Yep
Button by the steering wheel is a button for your fingerprint to start the car I just purchased one...
Thanks!!
Fantastic review, mine is still in Korea with an ocean cruise to come, then the usual import routine to get into the land down under .
Congrats!
Thx for the comment!
29:20 video mark - Finger Print Sensor for pre-setting driver preferences, ie seat and mirror positions.
Thx!
The new Hyundai Santa Fe should arrive in South Africa September 2024 .
@@JeremyGeduldt thx for the comment!
My whole family 6ft and over but idk care i still want it
I'm 6"2 and I have plenty of room to spare.
Hi Ed, great review as always! Too bad that there are not making PHEV anymore. Cheers!
They are actually... It's just not out yet. Currently testing in Korea
I believe the mystery "button" is a fingerprint reader.
Ahhaaaa cool. Now I need to research that
It is a biometric reader and you can start your car using it, like we open our phones 📱 with our fingerprint
True
Nice work! Thanks.
Thank you for the comment!
Thanks for this video . . . you quickly mentioned that the Bluelink navigation could show up traffic conditions, and I think you said police radar - could you confirm the police radar and red light camera warnings? We’ve got so many speed traps in Ottawa now it’s an absolute minefield.
I realize it’s never going to be as good as Waze where the community instantly tells you about cops hiding behind trees, but it would be nice to know about those static traps.
Thanks in advance.
It'll warn of traffic cameras (speed and red light) but it will also navigate around police incidents. But it won't warn of police radar unfortunately.
I'd stick to using Waze or Google maps
That finger print sensor. You have to set it up
Thanks!
This guy knows his stuff. I would buy a car from him if he were in west Canada
Lol.... I'm in Chilliwack BC. Come buy a car from me! 😃
No kidding!!!! I’m in Kamloops. I’m real interested in this car. If I can swing this, I will come visit your dealership and ask for you. Name of dealership?
I'm at Bannister Hyundai in Chilliwack
You can reach the dealership at 6047021000, then just ask for Ed 🙂
That funny button thing is a fingerprint reader.
Thanks!
The button on the left of the gauge cluster is a fingerprint scanner. We don’t use ours too much, it’s a bit gimmicky
Thank you!
Hyundai said they needed to decide if they wanted to add like 10 cm of width to the opening OR make the back end look cooler - and they decide to put all their marbles into the optimization of the shock placement.
Main question...can you disable that stupid "Traffic Camera Ahead" alert?
@ 29 minutes is that "button" a microphone or light sensor for ambient light control?
@@tonesmith909 no it's a finger print scanner that automatically sets the vehicle into your user mode... Pretty cool!
@@edsgarage001
🤯🤯🤯
cool shocks .
I assume you meant socks... Thx! 😁
Awesome review!!! I just bought a Santa Fe Caligraphy and I’m trying to figure something out. Is it possible to turn off the lane keep assist and only keep on the audio so that the steering wheel doesn’t try and keep you in your lane… I would prefer to only have the audible warning… Thanks
I can't recall off the top of my head, but this excerpt from the manual will point you to the setting that turns it off if you want to try it:
"With the engine on, select Setup> Vehicle
> Driver Assistance > Driving Safety >
Lane Safety in the infotainment system to
set whether to use each function.
If Lane Safety is selected, Lane Keeping
Assist automatically assists the driver's
steering when lane departure is detected
to help prevent the vehicle from moving
out of its lane. If Lane Safety is
deselected, Lane Keeping Assist turns off."
29.45 dinger pritns reader to setup for driver
Thx!
arent all the turbo engines having failure issues? i have a 2023 non turbo and its great but i have heard many issues ith turbo is it true?
No the engines are fine. It's the 8-speed dual clutch transmission that's got a recall on it, apparently the line pressure is too high and it's cracking the transmission block. It's actually a super simple fix though, just a software update to tell the pump to reduce pressure
It's is a fingerprint reader for customized driver setting
Thanks!
Finger print reader is what is left of the steering wheel.
Thanks!
Adding the type of engine to the title of the video would be helpful. Hybrid? 2.5L Turbo?
great review, the blind spot warning system, does it also contain "braking" i read something about that
Yes, if you have a vehicle in your blind spot, and you ignore the blind spot warnings and still start to move over to that lane it will pull you back into the other lane to avoid a collision.
@@edsgarage001 thanks!, is it hard to drive because it's big?, i live in Holland, they have this for sale but Holland is a tiny country with small streets
I lived in the Netherlands for about a year, and have been there many times for vacation 🙂
I guess it depends on your level of driving skill. Personally I don't think this would be difficult to drive there. It helps that it has a tight turning radius and cameras everywhere.
Bedankt voor de comment!
@@edsgarage001 thanks man! love your channel everytime i thought of question of the santa fe during the video you already explained it!
Thanks for the support!
Thanks!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Great review
Thank you!
Great review. Thanks a lot.
Please do a review on the base hybrid trim without trend package.
Do you think it's underpowered with 1.6 liter engine?
In your experience, how's Hundai Hybrid system? How's it compared to Toyota hybrid?
Thx for the comment!
I'll definitely be doing the review as soon as we get one in stock.
It wasn't underpowered in the previous generation Santa Fe, however I haven't tested it of course in the new one so I can't really speak to that. However comparatively speaking to Toyota's hybrid system, it actually has a bit more power. Plus it doesn't have a CVT, and it has actual mechanical linkage to the rear wheels making it more capable in snowy situations. Toyota hybrids have been known to overheat the rear drive modules when stuck in the snow.
Having said that I can't knock Toyota for making a reliable product, and there's is slightly more fuel efficient.
However for driving dynamics, capability, and power I prefer the Hyundai system.
@@edsgarage001 Thank you.
Looking forward to your video/inputs on base hybrid trim. Planning to buy one in Toronto.
I am confused if I have to add trend package. I am not a daily driver.
Thank you.
The trend package just adds features.
Engine, transmission and hybrid system are the same
@@edsgarage001 It also adds around 4k CAD. I am already stretched a little 😅
Yep,
For the $4k upgrade you get:
20" alloy wheels
Leatherette seating surfaces
Dual-pane power sunroof
8-way power driver's seat
Remote-folding second-row seats
Power windows with front auto up/down and pinch protection
12.3” TFT full digital colour LCD multi-information display
Wireless Charging Pad
3rd row USB ports (2)
Hyundai Digital Key 2 Touch (NFC + BLE + UWB)
Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)
Excellent video! Is there a way to setup a user but not have to enter a password? I bought a calligraphy model yesterday. Been running around on guest profile. Decided to setup a user but I don’t want to have to enter a password every time I jump in it. Back to guest user for now…
Yes, the user accounts do not require passwords. If you're using the fingerprint scanner though you will need the password. But then of course you can just press the fingerprint scanner button so that you don't have to enter the password
@@edsgarage001 thank you for the reply! Does anyone know if there is a way to remove a password on a user profile once one has been chosen? I can’t see that I will ever need that, or the fingerprint option. Thank you.
Button on the left of the screen is a fingerprints reader
Thanks!
Will they come out with PHEV?
Yep, it's currently in testing. We'll probably see it by next year
The based pickup truck is a rendering image of the previous generation still in production in South Africa now that pickup truck should be named Hyundai Arizona you than get Holden & Chevrolet Colorado .
Can't wait for hyundais pickups in the future
I think it’s a fingerprint scanner
Yessir! Thank you!
The unknown button is a fingerprint scanner
Thank you!
Land rover? What's?
A lot of people compare the boxy look to a land Rover
Finger print reader
Thx!
I love so much about my 2021, but it's the most unreliable car I have ever owned (over 38 years), and it only has 15,000 miles, so I don't plan to get another one. :( Maybe if they had ditched the DCT...
The hybrid versions have a6 speed auto, no DCt
@edsgarage001 True. Seems like it would have a hard time pulling the extra weight in the new model, but I'd have to drive one. If they bring back the PHEV, it would increase chances for me. However, then we are getting into the same price range as some pretty nice alternatives. The SF fits me perfectly and I love how it drives, but it's on its second transmission now and I didn't think we were going to make it home from our road trip. I see a third tranny in the near future.
That's the reason we went with the hybrid version. No DCT and better gas mileage is just a plus.
I was going to buy one until you couldn’t open the sunroof with your voice.
Lol 🤣😆
I'm getting it I'm going to voice command wife open sunroof 😂
🤣😂
What the reason...
Just buy a Ford Brono, it's more versitile, looks more like a Land Rover Defender....and not a Ford Flex.
Ford Bronco's are maintenance nightmare and have tons of issues. Ford transmissions are horrible.
@@robertduklus6555 not the hybrid, it is standard AT not the DCT
you are a natural car maker's should hire you
Thanks!
It's a finger print reader
Right on!! Thx!
