  • In this video I do a side by side trim comparison of the 2024/2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited and 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy. The Limited is finished in Abyss Black and the Calligraphy in Hampton Gray. These are the two most fully equipped Santa Fe's one can purchase. The Santa Fe is now much larger than that of the Tucson with standard 3rd row seating. The Calligraphy is the only way to get captains chairs and certain other equipment including Highway Drive Assist 2. Both vehicles are available with the 2.5T and Hybrid powertrains which is unlike the previous generation. Let me know which one you prefer in the comments below!

    *NOTE* The vehicles seen in this video are 2024MY however Hyundai did not make any changes for 2025. Pricing increased $250 from the vehicles seen in this video.

    The main and very important thing is…
    Pecan brown interior should be available for both the trims as both are top end trims
    And Bench seats option should also be available for both the trims as at the end of the day it’s all about customer’s choice
    Hyundai and KIA should understand this and implement the same

    • @CarsMadeSimple

      I understand why they have different color option because they are different grades of leather. This does make it somewhat confusing for the consumer though.

  • @E_House

    I can't stand it when companies limit what trim level i can get because they have pre determined how many seats I need. Stupid. I want a bench seat so therefore i can't get top of the line? Stupid.

    Thanks for your detailed comparison. Your videos are always so well-done. I like the exterior styling of the Calligraphy better than the Limited but I love the pecan brown interior in the Limited. Since I'll be spending way more time on the inside than looking at the outside, I'm leaning towards the Limited. As you've driven the Calligraphy vs other models, have you noticed a difference between HDA 2 and HDA 1? I could potentially convince myself the upgraded HDA and HUD are worth the premium too.

    I cannot figure out how those wheels on the Limited passed any committee. They are fugly. If I bought a Limited I would have to invest in all new wheels. I also don’t like how top trims get larger, i.e. lower profile wheels. I prefer the 18’s on the XRT. Higher sidewalls are more comfortable and practical.

    This may be a dumb question, but, if you connect your phone to the Apple Car play or Android Auto and then connect to FaceTime or WhatsApp video, are you able to see the other person on the infotainment screen?

    Their 8 speed transmission has issues. 60,000 nationwide are not safe to drive. Also has 2 current recalls. Before buying, make sure no issues because Hyundai has no fix for the transmission. If you buy it, you'll be responsible for paying even if you can't drive it. I suggest a Kia.

    Do you know about Hyundai's features called "Passenger Talk" / Quiet Mode and "Car Wash Mode" in the 2024 Santa Fe? If you could respond, I'd appreciate it. Your videos are more thorough and you do a great job presenting. Thanks

    I'm leaning towards the Calligraphy, but have to admit 50k is getting up there. Which has me on the fence between a sedan or SF. I currently own a '20 Limted 2.0 turbo.

    Does it have height adjustment headlights? Why none of the USA/Canada Hyundai/Kia models have this option. Are they auto leveling or smth?

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  2 месяца назад

      They don't have auto leveling and don't have the option to adjust from the inside cabin. They should have mechanical adjustments under the hood like most vehicles. This is likely due to the regulations placed on vehicles in the US.

      @@CarsMadeSimple Yep must be. In Europe there is a button inside. If you have weight at the back, you can lower the headlight to not glare the oncomming traffic.

    I’ve read about transmission issues with the dct. Any idea if the hybrid Santa Fe is having similar issues?

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  3 месяца назад +2

      The Hybrid does not use a DCT to it will not have any of the same issues in regards to the transmission. I have not heard of any issues with the Hybrid version yet.

      I have the hybrid, also had the 2023 hybrid. Their transmissions have a very good reputation. I wish Hyundai would continue this DCT and just give them the same fully automatic 8-speed that's in the Palisade.

    Does HDA2 keep the lane centering better or anything like that than HDA1?

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  3 месяца назад +1

      I don't believe the performance of the lane centering is any better however I have seen videos that state the system is more advanced in it's operations when passing other vehicles.

    • @derekplatt9205
      @derekplatt9205 3 месяца назад +1

      In my experience, it centers you much more organically. HDA1 seems to let you get close to the edge then pull you back in. HDA 2 is constantly do mini adjustments tk keep you centered. It also changes lanes more quickly. HDA1 will change lanes for you, but there's a but if delay while it's deciding if it's safe. HDA2 decides very quickly and changes the lane about as fast as a driver would.

      @@derekplatt9205 what about tighter corners? HDA1 seems to not like higher speeds on turns.

    • @derekplatt9205
      @derekplatt9205 3 месяца назад

      @stargate25645 What do you mean when you say high speed turns? If it's high speed but it's a gradual curve, it'll help guide you well. But you should not be counting on any drive assist if you're making a high speed, deep turn lol

    • @stargate25645
      @stargate25645 3 месяца назад

      @@derekplatt9205 turns at interstate and highway speed limits (45-70 here) when the curve isn't quite designed to current standards so it's tighter. HDA1 does fine on gradual curves, but things like ramps or even some turns it will not do. Reviews that mentioned it indicate HDA2 is better at that (CarSceneKorea specifically), but I haven't seen someone test it with a US model.
