Here's Pepe Romero performing "Tango Maria" by Francisco Tárrega on the composers first Antonio de Torres guitar - this one made in 1864, numbered FE 17, made with spruce top and maple back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

Pepe Romero performs a gem from Tarrega’s deep catalog and does it with refined focus and precision that can only come though a lifetime of dedication to the instrument. Young people: this is your goal.
My understanding is that this piece was first published in Argentina as "Enriqueta (Habanera para una o dos guitarras)" by the Spanish composer Carlos Tolsa. In 1906 Francisco Tarrega arranged it for solo guitar as "Tango Maria", dedicating it to a pupil, Mercedes Agunaya. After Tarrega's death in 1909, the manuscript was found amongst his unpublished compositions and arrangements by Ildefonso Alier, who published it as a composition by Tarrega called "Tango". The piece was reattributed to Carlos Tolsa by Domingo Prat in his "Diccionario de Guitarristas" published in 1934.

Quel bonheur et quelle qualité de son dans le casque. Vraiment la guitare est devenue un instrument à part entière, comme le piano.
