This was an amazing episode. My heart went out to Tatia and Przemek. Janey had her hands full with Leon but she was a good mother. I'm glad that he completely recovered. ❤
OMG that's a devastating injury. I don't think I' ve seen a back injury that bad. God Bless him. And in my long years on this good earth, I know one thing for sure: Death is the one thing you can't get out off.
Legs or no legs... What a beautiful family they are. And that's a really special gift I've never had. Not as a child, not as an adult. My family has always been a broken type and my mom is dead now too. A close and loving and supportive family like that is a true gift from God. I'm sure many people that lose the function of their legs have no one. It's good to see love come out on top. ❤

yes your life can turn on a dime especially when on a motorbike. If you have to commute on one for lack of an automobile affordability I get it but for all other reasons , adrenaline rush, that free feeling , need for speed etc etc. I had one but simple common sense trumped the risk. Automobile drivers have blind spots, bikes often blend into the background, there's a million reasons. Find a safer way to fulfill your adrenaline rush, maybe Russian Roulette

The pain git worse and after 2 months they sent me back for more X-rays and found multiple thoracic fractures and hernitated cervical spine. They never looked at my X-rays at the hospital on the night if the accident. Delays in treatment and two spinal fusiins and a failed fusion with metslware removed. Watching this brings back a flood of emotions. 4 years ago I watched a young man hit a panel truck in the side doing about 80 miles an hour on a motorcycle. By the time my wife and myself got out of the car we where there with him for his last breathe. The next day we seen some people at the crash site in suits figured they were detectives or insurance adjusters. Where the wreck happened was approximately 100 yd from my house so we walked over to see what was going on and as we got there a older gentlemen pulled up in an old truck. That day I got to tell the father that I was there with his son when he took his last breath there is nothing in this world that I've ever done that was more heartbreaking to do than that. It still haunts me four years later.
My 17 year old boyfriend was in an accident and paralyzed from the waist down..this made me nauseated from the memories..and what they are going through😢
Yes & riding a regular bicycle. I got hit by a car and ended up with 6 staples to close cut on my head. Sued the driver. Things are ok. But suffer from PTSD..now
I was medevaced after a high speed trauma. Watching Pjacvic hearing the news he was paralyzed was a gut punch for me. I had a SCI but mine was higher. His wife an angel. I pray for all 3.
I thought of getting a motorcycle three times in my life: Every time I got close, I found myself driving down the road and witnessing accidents. 1st guy laid his bike down (crashed) on the road, making a left turn. Dry road. He wasn't trying to avoid any cars; he just laid it down like a professional road racer. 2nd guy was riding his bike in front of me and got clipped by a minivan. Lost his leg. 3rd time, the dude accidentally popped the clutch at a light and flipped the bike into oncoming traffic. Fortunately, no cars were running the red light. After that, I said, "Ok, clearly, the Universe is sending me a warning. And I've toyed with death (rollerblading over the Brooklyn Bridge while holding onto yellowcab bumpers, etc.) enough in my years.
Salute to all those Emergency Room doctors and technicians. They do their best every day to save someone. I could never do that job, way too stressful, it takes a strong person to deal w/ that kind of stress.😵😵😵😵😵😵😱😱😱😱
Its dangerous to be on a motorcycle unless you live in a small town with not much traffic. Everywhere else people are speeding, running red lights etc , not looking out for others.
I live on a small southern gulf island with fairly decent roadworks that gets you around and about the island. We have no stop lights on the island, only 12 stop signs. I agree with your imagery of living in a small village but out experience has been people forget bicyclists and motorcycles and deer! And no police! It gets scary driving or walking on the road here!
Here in the states, we refer to motorcycles as “donor cycles” because so many accidents end in death. The families are asked if they are willing to donate organs for others in need. Best wishes to the patients and their families! 🙏🙏🙏

16 months ago I hit a telephone pole at 90 km/h on a 1000 lb bike. 9 broken vertebrae but escaped paralysis. Numerous injuries head to toe, smashed hands, still have a broken leg but I've been walking. Just getting ready for surgery #9 in a couple of days, 2 more to go after that. I'm one of the lucky ones. It's a hard comeback though.
I used to ride motorcycles back in the late 80s early 90s, I was a safe and skilled rider, but after too many close calls with bad drivers and with the new emerging problem of texting and driving, I decided that's enough of that. I still miss the bikes, but, I don't miss the danger. Glad I'm done.
Gawddamn motorcycles. I wish no one would ride them. You're so vulnerable. Here I am talking--I'm a cyclist. After watching this I never want to ride on the street anymore, just trails. Bless these folks for being survivors.
When my girlfriend was brought into the ER with a broken femur, and no blood flow to her right leg, the nurse looked at her and said, “horse?” She said yes. The nurse said, “with women it’s usually a horse; with men, a motorcycle”.

When I was 13 when I lost my older brother in a motorcycle accident. Another car had cut him off and the large bike he was riding, crushed him. Since then I have been the first one at the scene of two motorcycle fatalities which really shook me up as both of them brought bad horrible memories of losing my brother. Yesterday on the radio, I learned that there had been 4 fatalities over last weekend from motorcyclists. I understand the rush of riding them buy honestly they are a death trap if you get into an accident. If you own one, please consider selling it before you are the next statistic.
I’m new at this show. I’m in the US. But this show has a lot of emotions. That young girl made me laugh about not liking children. Then her Dad said you are children. She corrected him saying “child.” Haha. But the Motorcycle accidents brought out the sadness of tragedy. The one young man lucked out. His Mom loves him dearly. But the other could’ve had much worse results. He still has his life with his wife that adores him. Plus his baby girl. That is where I got emotional. Thank you for such a wonderful show. I think I’m hooked. One day my fiancé and I will come visit.
Watching this makes you realise how precious life really is and how things can turn around in a split second. I feel so sorry for him as it sounds like he was a very good man father and husband but can’t help to think how hard this would be also for his wife.
In the Spinal Injuries unit we refer to motorbikes as spine breakers and organ donators. Lost count of all the motorbike riders who said “ I was always a safe rider and I can’t believe this happened to me” Our patients only consist of deficit and paralysis, always a constant majority are motorbike riders
When asked, "How bad is it?" I hate that the doctors and nurses skate around how terribly bad it actually is. Just tell them the truth! Let them know what they're facing so they can increase their determination to fight (if they choose). The spinal cord was transected in the accident. Could you tell the patient what's going on? Afterward, you can say, "Stay strong. I've seen many miracles in this line of work."

I disagree. She might love him but she treats him appallingly. It's no wonder Leon has been a rebel. His mother alternately issues orders, laughs at him and scolds him. It's wonder he's not mentally ill.
@@lynnbean7200I completely disagree with you..I saw nothing to indicate she treats him " appallingly", nothing at all...she acts like a normal loving mother around him
@@lynnbean7200 we know where he got his foul mouth from
Actually I came to the comments to see if anyone else agreed that he's an out of control idiot teen who's made his mother's life hell by the sounds of it.
@@CanMoose No, she's not a normal mother. She's smothering him, guilting him, pleading. His responses to her are on auto tune and emotionless so clearly those are from a life time of being nagged and harped at. You don't get far with your kids if you tell them how much pain they are causing you, and how they are your sole reason for life; guilt guilt guilt guilt. You let them do the talking. Inviting healthy conversation without judging and guilting but at the same time, make them accountable for their inappropriate actions. A parent has to walk multiple thin lines, but that's the only way you'll do your job well. I gather from the show that he is working and has recognized where his skills are, and when he succeeds in life it will be his success, not so much mom's. She was clueless as to why he struggled in school, when she should have had him tested for one of the many learning issues that people can struggle with. She's a nice lady, but daft.

Przemek and Tatia had me close to tears; I hope they continue to live a long happy life together despite all the life changes. Leon and his mom had me cracking up whenever they were on screen, they’re so funny together 😂
I cried, I couldn’t hold the tears back. The love they have for each other is the kind of love everyone on this planet is searching for. They will have a beautiful life regardless of his injury, the child was the missing piece they needed. Beautiful love story❤️
Przemark has a great attitude and the love of his family will help him get through this difficult time
This episode had me in tears.
This was an amazing episode. My heart went out to Tatia and Przemek. Janey had her hands full

OMG that's a devastating injury. I don't think I' ve seen a back injury that bad. God Bless him. And in my long years on this good earth, I know one thing for sure: Death is the one thing you can't get out off.

As soon as they showed the x ray I said "oh no" out loud :( so bad
Legs or no legs... What a beautiful family they are. And that's a really special gift I've never had. Not as a child, not as an adult. My family has always been a broken type and my mom is dead now too. A close and loving and supportive family like that is a true gift from God. I'm sure many people that lose the function of their legs have no one. It's good to see love come out on top. ❤
Your life can turn on a dime. Watching these episodes reminds you to be grateful for the life you have and don’t take anything for granted.
I did tear up when he was told that he broke his back & it’s likely he won’t walk again. My heart just sank for him & his young family.
But he is alive, that’s the main thing.
yes your life can turn on a dime especially when on a motorbike.
Just wanted to live longer with all my appendages attached and not become an unnecessary burden to the other people/ medical establishment / society in general. Critical thinking will save your ass. Find a safer way to fulfill your adrenaline rush, maybe Russian Roulette
The love of my life suffered a spinal cord injury as a result of a motorcycle accident. He survived and the next 8 years were nothing short of horrific for him. Covid took him in 2020 and i was glad. There are things far worse than death.

School is not meant for everyone. Everyone can succeed in something, they just need to find that thing!

Watching this brings back a flood of emotions. 4 years ago I watched a young man hit a panel truck in the side doing about 80 miles an hour on a motorcycle. By the time my wife and myself got out of the car we where there with him for his last breathe.

Worked on an Acute Rehabilitation unit for years; we referred to motorcycles as “donercycles”. Saw far too many riders end up in wheelchairs.
When asked, "How bad is it?" I hate that the doctors and nurses skate around how terribly bad it actually is.
Just tell them the truth!
Let them know what they're facing so they can increase their determination to fight (if they choose).
