  • Nathaniel Pennington is the Founder and CEO of Humboldt Seed Company. He has been supplying high-quality cannabis seeds to growers since 2001. In 2018 they hosted the World’s Largest Phenotype Hunt, teaming with local farmers, industry experts, and top researchers, many of whom are CannMed alumni. We talked about the Mega Phenohunt Project as well as Nat’s process for breeding consistent and reproducible cannabis seeds. Topics include:
    - The Phenotype Rating Sheet used to evaluate plants
    - The process of creating stable, purebred lines
    - Why Humboldt Seed Company chooses to sell purebred lines
    - Benefits of growing from seed rather than clone
    - Benefits of autoflower varieties and common misconceptions
    - The importance of legacy growers collaborating with academics and researchers
Thanks to This Episode’s Sponsor: Advanced Nutrients

Unfortunately it seems that HLVD can be passed through seed

If auto are so good then how come every time i try some again, there crap in comparison to my photos. Autos of today There better then tgey used to be. But still not a replacement for photos. Nit even a question about it

I think a lot of it comes down to how different they really are. I haven’t finished the video so I haven’t heard his points yet, but from my personal experience autoflowers are a lot trickier than photoperiods and require almost an entirely different set up. I have seen a lot of auto flower plants that are indistinguishable from photos when the grower has enough experience with them. Not implying you did anything wrong, it just seems like there’s a lack of info specifically on how to grow autos and this gives people worse quality and yields

Grow an auto outside, in the ground and see it grow to a large but easily manageable size

@DG-iw3yw autos got long long way to go to compare to photos
There just not there yet period. They got some slightly better looks n smells breed in now. But the highs are flat and un impressive. The flavor or lack there of is meh at best
Can't keep a cut if u find something really cool. Autos blow actually. Just ensures you will have to come bak buy more. It's genius for people that sell seeds n need our $
      The hell w auto

I'll put my results against ANY organic cultivators results!! Advanced has been around long before this was all legal, paving the way for future ALL cannabis enthusiast's!
