Canberra actually means 'the meeting place' ( in the Ngunnawal Aboriginal language ), as it was made between Sydney and Melbourne when they were deciding on the capital of Australia. It was also were they had been holding meetings between the two nations before we became states and territories. - From an Aussie.
Thanks a lot for this video💕 I'm not native english speaker, so hearing the variations of English in your videos helps me feeling more, like, comfortable, I guess, so thanks a lot ^^
words in English are often pronounced differently depending on the country, even the spelling chages (especially the US) so don't be at worried about making mistakes as that is how you learn.
I thought Canberra means Cranberry since the name was so close to the name of the fruit. I love this so much!! I learned so much! I didn't know anything about Australia. How do you say welcome back in Australia, Hungarian, or Malaysia? I know Bienvenue means Welcome in French. When will Part 4 of the English variations be out? I would love to see more of this. Where is this filmed?
From what I remember hangings stopped shortly after ned Kelly was hanged he was the last Victorian to be hung... fun fact the university RMIT actually is almost built around where ned Kelly went to prison
It is getting more common though as yank culture infiltrates. I remember explaining to yanks that all of them sit on their fanny but only half of Australians do.
