That is soooo cool! I wish they could meet, how sweet would that be? Sending Rax hugs- and tell him that his girlfriend over here, needs protection from the dogs! She's not loving the dogs-- at all!
@@ParrotBliss Yes, Rax is very vocal if the dogs go somewhere they're not allowed to. They all slink away when he starts up! I'm pretty sure Rax would love a pretty pink girlfriend. I saw a picture of a corella/major mitchell hybrid the other day which was a stunning looking bird; though I think it was a little corella hybrid, rather than a long bill. I've seen quite a few corella/galah hybrids before in real life, but never with a MM.
I find that with my birds the females are sweeter. They are very interested in interacting with us. Only 1 of my males has a tendency to be clingy. The rest of the boys come for a quick visit then want to fly! The Major Mitchell is beautiful. I think it’s unfair to label any type of animal breed or species as a bad pet. Every one is unique. I think what happens a lot with cockatoos in general is that they are so strikingly beautiful that sometimes people jump into getting them without realizing they are rarely "beginner" birds
