To those who are asking where this is happening. It's in the inner northern suburbs of Sydney, Australia. Sulphur crested cockatoos are highly social and very intelligent. Even wild ones like these easily learn to take food from somebody's hand and with patience they will learn to like a scratch under their wings. City birds like these might have several homes they visit at different times of day.
This is Australia? Looks beautiful. I went to Perth and that looked a lot more like California than Brazil. And I don'tmean Brazil as in shantytown I mean the rainforest.
@Craig Wortham Not true. Birds brains may be small but have a much higher density of neurons than any mammal, even humans. This makes them incredibly smart. Dolphins does not really have to be that smart, they might just do things that makes us believe they are smarter than other animals, just like dogs (dogs are pretty dumb but we believe they are smarter than for example crows anyways even tho that mostly is not the case) If you want to see real intelligent animals you will have to look at squids, octopuses and cuttlefish, they are incredibly smart in ways we use to define as intelligence (solving mazes and problems with math for example)

@MaJo Buena I wish I could let my cats out but everytime they escape I have anxiety they will get hit by a car or some psycho tries to hurt them. Or neighbors pitbull gets them 😯
@MaJo Buena Hmm... that's a complicated argument especially with cats and dogs. The cockatoos are native to that area and are free to do as they so choose, but in most areas domestic cats and dogs would be considered invasive species. There is at least one incident I can think of where a single free-roam cat actually caused an entire species to go extinct: look up the Stephen's Island Wren. In addition to the danger they pose to native wildlife, you also have to consider that simply letting an animal run free can be extremely dangerous depending on where you live. Urban environments were made for people, not animals. Though some animals have found ways to survive in an urban environment, it is often less than ideal compared to the forests they would have called home. In my opinion, loosing an animal in too populated of an environment is simply letting them loose in a bigger cage. They're still surrounded by people and brick walls, but now they no longer have a steady supply of food and someone to care for them. It's not an upgrade by any means assuming their owner isn't abusive. Cat's and dogs are perfectly happy staying indoors because we've domesticated them to a point where they're used to it. The caveat here is that they do need stimulation - cats still need to sharpen their claws and dogs still need time to run and play. The cool thing is, if you take the time to care for them as you should, then you can provide that for them! If you have a bigger dog you need somewhere to take them so they can run and play, and if you have a cat you you need to make time to play with them. We have the resources to have a pet inside our home and to give them everything they need and more. The problem isn't simply having them indoors, it's making sure you give them everything they need to be as happy as they would be outside; it's your responsibility and obligation when you take an animal into your home. With a cat tree or two, some good toys, a good walking regimen for your dog, and the time to care for them, they'll be perfectly happy. The only difference is that they avoid predators and other hazards, as well as pests and parasites that might substantially damage their health. That's for domestic animals, though. Cockatoos like these are very difficult to provide for, and they need a LOT of attention to be as happy in a house as they would be outside. The same is true for other exotic pets like foxes. Some animals are so domesticated that they cannot survive on their own, like the domestic ferret which can usually only survive up to 3 days in the wild. It really depends on the animal. I'd also be irresponsible not to mention the animals who cannot survive on their own despite being totally wild. Some species have experienced such substantial habitat loss the only option for them is to be bred and held in captivity. It's a sad reality but a reality nonetheless. To release them into the wild would be a death sentence since they can't simply adapt to an environment they aren't familiar with - if you released a tropical bird in the desert it would die. In that sense captivity might not be ideal, but anything else other than trying to restore their natural habitat so they can return to it would be cruel.

From my experience, birds love to be admired. They are curious creatures, but if you just sit down and look at them, they will perk up and look back at you with a little grin.
Okay I'm 3 years behind on a comment but....Wow! That is so freakin awesome to see Cockatoo's in their natural habitat, free of any cages, just flying around and coming onto a patio. Omg I wish we had cool birds like that here in Canada. I envy you being able to hang out with them and feed them. So very cool.
You know what's absolutely fascinating? Is how wild ones are different than those living in homes who can speak. It's like taking a wild human to get civilised lol
Occasionally some wild birds like these pick up sounds they hear and start using them normally, that’s how you end up with a bird that decides it wants to sound like a chainsaw every night.
fxc2 I’m speaking in general, there are birds that are so good at mimicking the sounds they hear that they will copy the sound of a chainsaw running low on power and the people speaking in the woods, there’s always one that decides to pull an all nighter to be fancy with their calls.
They have the wonderful gift of flight. So lets clip their wings and put them behind bars so they can sing and dance for treats when we come home from work.

At this point I'm ending my communication in terms of the back and forth, but just know I'm being sincere. The internet was once- many moons ago- a 'place' of hope for sharing info. So in that vein, I am responding. Take care, and adopt, don't shop! Dig it! : )
This is my childhood dream,
Make a lot of birds come to me
For some reason cockatoos dig people. And people dig cockatoos.
PS: actually cockatoos dig tourists with snacks in their hotel room.
Mookie Spindlehurst bruh im 22 and understand what “dig” means. Who are you talking to? 7 year olds?
Rip to the crowd on the ground floor
🤣
I read crow. Was like wtf?
Daphne lol
@@daphne4983 crow, or 👑. I guess I need to scrub my screen.
These birds just like a swarm of bombers
They are going to get crop dusted with birdsh^t.

They'd either not come back, or they'd literally take your finger off.
@@lexian5602 I dont think even for a bird of this size to have the bite strength to bite off a finger. You would likely get a decent bite would though.
@@infallible7425 it is actually quite easy for them to get a finger off if they catch you right.
I would have been talking to them and waving
They are very beautiful birds😍
I feel happy and sad when I see this. Happy because I can see cockatoos in the balcony and sad because the forest already become house. :(
Suburbia is pretty much a perfect habitat for these little fellas. The only real problem would be cars and electric cables.
My God I envy you sooo much. They are lovely. Such a privilege you have. 💝
Exactly 👍right on
Privilege
😍😍😍😍how blessed
Happens every day to me here in Hamilton Island. They even get intoi my fking room haha
Make a video for us!
Make VIDEO
Plz make a video. Where's Hamilton island? I'm in California USA , so I've never heard of it.
Chip Chipperson oof
Kristins Rowland California has no cockatoos in the wild :( so lame
So nice to be able to enjoy these birds without stealing their freedom!
Its great to see them flying free rather than in a cage!
same feeling..
I can’t describe how delighted I am to see this video! Thank you for making my day!
That looks like a place I'd like to live. The birds, the misty weather, the trees. So soothing. =‿=
Imagine the humidity, lol. You'd be getting your daily 2L of water just breathing
So good to see the cockies coming to visit and some have their happy feathers showing. It shows they're reasonably happy in your presence. 👍🤗
So nice they are free to come and go as they please.
When my time comes and I pass away I pray I end up somewhere as beautiful as this surrounded by animals!!
First clue is the cars are driving on the left-hand side of the road. 2nd clue is that cockatoos are only prolific in Australia.
accept Jesus and you will
good luck on becoming birdfood
ZeroGHome24 👍Yes. Me too. True nature's freedom & heaven.
ZeroGHome24 (imo)You have spun perspective upside-down! Interesting how you can hope to experience life on earth, in Australia...AFTER DEATH! I have, often, heard other people say : “You only live once, it’s short and you must make the most of it.”
Bet they were looking for lunch. Beautiful. I'd be raiding my fridge & pantry to give them something quick before they all flew away.
You have entered the friend zone. Who needs other humans when you can have 436 cockatoos?
Neighbour have a cockatoo that always says hello to me everytime I walk my dog.
Awesome! 😃
Seeing them fly freely is so nice :) Seeing them wild is honestly much better than seeing them in captivity...
Gorgeous.... I'd absolutely love to visit Australia some time, not just because of the beautiful landscapes but also because of the gorgeous birbs 🥰.
Wild and free, as how they should be.
yeah and no I have a pet cockatoo and she loves me I take her outside on a 5 metre harness and she plays with the other wild cockatoos and she walks around the house looking for stuff to play with
Until the humans deside that There are to much cockatoos and kill them :/
school enzo Really tho?
@@rylanprime6176 yeah! It's also in another country now. There are too much parrots so they kill thousands of them
birds in a cage is sick! disgusting should be illegal
Wish I could make friends with any birds, very cool stuff.
Looks like heaven!!! I totally love these birds. Looks like you have them with out all the vet bills
This is like a dream come true for a cockatoo lover like me
Oh...such wonderful birds....so calm amazing...just flocking from far...sitting quietly... beautiful....it's so heartwarming...n satisfying...the only thing disturbing was the noise of traffic....still the place is so beautiful. Enjoy yr life.....
The roadway is the Pacific Highway that connects Sydney and Brisbane in Australia.
They are so cool and awesome. Teach them all to say good morning.
It's very cute to see all these birds literally coming to you and not just one but a flock of them!
by the way, that looks as close to heaven on earth as you could get. the view is literally taking my breath away. I feel such a strong connection to that view, something I've never felt before

Me: Having mating pigeons who doesn't shut the heck up in 5 in the morning!
You'll never get your balcony back!
@@juliem540 I wish it was in the balcony so I could shoo them off... They're in the roof.

Hammad Hussain good catch
Perfect clown car honks ❤️ such lovely creatures
Beautiful! It is so wonderful to see them wild and not as pets!
İ wanna catch them and hug them so badly. Because of that guys calm aura I am feeling like villain. Hug themmm
Never Give Up Dear Friend they are definitely beautiful and if tame they can be extremely affectionate. But they have a very powerful beak that delivers a very painful bite. Ive seen them crack macadamia nuts . They love them.
@@mattcullen6109 i understand what you mean. But maybe if they try most calm one to feed with hand . So they can train at least one of them. Sounds good to have parrot in you shoulder like pirates:-)
@@nevergiveupdearfriend7289 😁😁 sounds awesome alright. My dad hand feeds the king parrots up home. They are also very beautiful. You are right, if you take your time and move slowly im sure you could easily hand feed these beauties after a while.like most animals, its just a matter of gaining their trust. My mate has a cockatoo at his place . It loves to sit on my arm and get scratched under the wings. I move slowly and gently and talk to her like the lady on the video did. It pants like a dog and looks up at me almost adoringly. I cant go there with give her a cuddle . Shes so beautiful.
Wow that is so amazing I love birds even seagulls birds are great and yes so are other animals but I really love birds
From my experience, birds love to be admired. They are curious creatures, but if you just sit down and look at them, they will perk up and look back at you with a little grin.
When you're just chilling on the porch and all the cockatoos come for their birb support
It's so nice to see happy, healthy cockatoos flying in the wild ^_^
They are such smart creatures. I love parrots.
3:01 made me crack up lol “Oh hello!”
GOOD MORNIN’ SIR!
Just beautiful....... What a way to start the day, love them!
You are so lucky to have them around!
The same thing happened when we visited Australia. Best part of the trip for me.
I literally feel like crying from happiness.
That is very sweet. Look how much fun a little birdseed can bring. You are blessed, thanks for sharing a fun vid !

you spelled it wrong. it’s “wåëh”
Beautiful intelligent nice can fly can speak different sounds and languages with patience and discipline oh my god yes you are
Okay I'm 3 years behind on a comment but....Wow!
Occasionally some wild birds like these pick up sounds they hear and start using them normally, that’s how you end up with a bird that decides it wants to sound like a chainsaw every night.
fxc2
I’m speaking in general, there are birds that are so good at mimicking the sounds they hear that they will copy the sound of a chainsaw running low on power and the people speaking in the woods, there’s always one that decides to pull an all nighter to be fancy with their calls.
How birds should be... wild and free.

They have the wonderful gift of flight. So lets clip their wings and put them behind bars so they can sing and dance for treats when we come home from work.

Dawn Adriana humans also but you people want to control everything
@@liggerstuxin1 - I have three parrots all of them rescues. Two were hit by cars and needed nursing back to health but due to damage would never survive in the wild and the other one was an orphan who refuses to leave me. He doesn't live in a cage and has free roam privileges in the house and most parrot owners would never dream of clipping their wings. You sound like a bitter person with an exaggerated sense of your own importance.
Omg so lucky to live there, it looks stunning! ❤ ⭐
Wow...This is my definition of paradise..loved it
Amazing ! You are so lucky to have friends like that come say good morning to you 😁
They are social creatures! You must be very nice humans! They chose you to say good morning to! God bless you for being nice to his creations!
That one looking at your camera like "Whatcha got there?" 😁
"Can I eat it?"
How cool is that! I love to see them in their natural habitat!
