I DO NOT SELL PRODUCTS. A detailed explanation is given for each step. As with all my videos, this illustrates my own personal preference based on decades of experience. Please note that I don't sell products and am not profiting from these videos nor are they sponsored. So if you have questions about the products then please contact your supplier. (Like they’ll know!)
Rick, your videos are very insightful and address real problems. Thanks for all that you share.
Thanks. I consider this payment in full for the efforts!
Less severe cracking I've found a gray scuff pad with sand away works well
We have a method we call reconstituting for these situations.
We just talked about this kind of seat finish repair a week or so ago! Very nice.
We do upholstery so very often we only need to replace one or a few seat covers. And then we refinish the other seats to match.
It's a great option to save the customer a lot of money. And it's great for us too as it's a lucrative job, much easier than reupholstering seats.
I've always said that upholstery and interior repairs go hand in hand!
I like the music stuff too as always, the intro song had a Flamenco vibe to it, could be the next Zorro theme song!
The upholstery shop is really pumped about how much work he can turn out now. You are so right!
I ordered a sample of Sand Away months back. I've seen you use it before, but for some reason, the impact of how useful it is wasn't as powerful. The result on this repair was perfect. Now, I can't wait to use it in the field. By the way, my wife and I recognize that melody, song 43. 😊 Beautiful job on that as well.
You will find yourself minimizing many seat repairs. Another use is coming in the next video. 🎶🎶
Excellent video Rick! Actually for me a long awaited one. I've walked away from countless situations with this condition, with zero interest in attempting to reconditioning as you have.. Thanks for simplifying what the process would be to accomplish these real-time video results. Also appreciate you mentioning what products you use! To me that's critical!
Is there a slip product that can be used in maintenance to keep from wearing the seat on exiting the car?
The video I Ve been waiting for since I first start following ❤
Sir, if I have leather prep, wich is a strong solvent for coated leather, can I use it along with 1000 grit ?
Leather Prep is a solvent used to strip lacquer finishes from leather which was the norm until around the 1980s. Now because the finishes are predominantly water base we can't really use it that way. We can use acetone and 220 grit to reconstitute existing finishes with removal.
@@a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247 so basically "wet sanding" with acetone and bellow 400 grit sandpaper ?
@@JuiceBokx The idea with this technique is to not remove any coating but to redistribute it as a new coating.
Water base?
Yep. That's what Rick would be using on that seat.
Best way to refinish leather. In the new age leather repair. He's spot on.
Who makes Sand Away, I’ve searched the internet and all I’ve found is product to clean beach sand from your toes. x
Your supplier will have it
@@a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247 I’m in the UK, and I’ve been searching on the web and can’t can’t find it. Who makes please? Love the music, by the way x
