So I'm running into the issue you had where you add it in OBS but the screen is blank, i've removed it and added it into the scene over and over and it's still not working, what all did you do to fix it? I know it's connected because when I hit record it says Recording in progress, but the camera will not show
For the Video settings (in OBS) Base(Canvas) Resolution is 1920x1080 Output(scaled) Resolution is 1920x1080 Common FPS Values is set at 30 For Audio my Sample Rate is set at 48 kHz Channels is set to Stereo In the "Global Audio Devices" settings, my desktop audio is set to my default computer speakers and the mic/Auxiliary audio is set to whichever mic you're using (I use a Blue Snowball Mic) In the "Meters" section of the audio settings, my Decay Rate is set to "Fast" and my peak meter type is "Sample Peak". In the Recording Settings (found in OUTPUT on the settings menu) my recording format is MPEG-4(MP4) Video encoder: x264 Audio encoder: FFmpeg AAC These are just the settings that have worked for me. Not sure if this is the info you're looking for or not. But hope it helps, if still needed.
I've always recorded audio through a separate USB mic when using obs. Never actually used the camera's mic (w/ obs), so I can't say from experience. I'll have to check into that myself. I'm late with this reply though, so you probably figured it out already. ** To be more specific, I record the audio thru a Snowball USB mic, going into the USB port on the PC. The Lumix just acts as a video recorder. But OBS controls everything (So you press record on obs, not on the camera. And you press record for the usb mic in obs as well). Sorry I kind of misread your comment at first.
You mean basically do the set up with 2 hdmi cables instead of 1 hdmi & 1 usb cable? I can't say for sure since I've never tried it. But it sounds worth a shot.
Can you do it without the capture card? Or is the capture card needed to be able to connect to obs? Because when I connect my hdmi directly to my computer, it’s not even showing up on obs at all.
So great ❤ I have a question please Why i can't recording from camera and obs together When i press the recording button on my lumix g7, the video capture device said "now recording video" and the video disappear from obs
Yeah the same thing happens for me. As far as I know, you have to do one or the other. I'm not exactly sure why, but I'd guess that maybe it's less taxing on the camera battery that way.
Hey and thank you for this video it helped me since I am a newbie. I have a question do you know if you can either do the following. Use Adobe product like Priemer pro or if you can just record videos and not live stream?
Yeah you can just record videos thru OBS if you want. When I do tutorial type videos I record them in OBS, and then edit them in Resolve or CapCut. So if you wanted to bring your OBS recordings into Premiere Pro, you definitely could.
I have the G7 as well. Question.. Do i need to connect both the synch usb cable and the micro hdmi hooked to the capture card to set it on OBS software?
@@JesusElSanadorGlobal The usb cable connects the capture card to the computer, and the hdmi/micro hdmi cable connects the capture card to the G7 camera. So yes, both the usb and the hdmi are connected to the capture card. Hope this helps!
I think you glossed over how OBS actually detects the G7. It was already detected in your software and that is the most critical part of your video. Followed instructions until that part and no detection. Moving on to another video....
You not creating a “new” source and choosing an “existing” one defeats the tutorial

Did u ever figure this out?

No problem, glad it helped!
Hi, thanks for this. My G7 switches off or goes to sleep quickly. How do you stop this?
What obs settings are you using as far as recording i wish you would of went more into that also i’m using a elgato capture device

And were you able to use your camera as webcam in other softwares, besides OBS (E.g Google Hangouts)?
No I've only used the Lumix with OBS.
Very, very helpful. Thank you sir. How do you set up the audio for the lumix g7 on obs?

Could I use the HDMI output cable instead of USB to run the feed to my computer?

With the G7 you need a capture card as far as I know. At least that's the only way I know how to do it.
So great ❤

gracias me gusta tu metodo de explicacion de este tutorial, me he comprado una g7 de segunda mano y estoy buscando conocer a fondo mi camara
Excelente! Me alegra que el vídeo haya sido útil. Gracias por ver y comentar!
What if i only want to use the camera in 1080 P do i need it ?
Yeah that should work. 1080 is what I work with in OBS as well.
Do I need a capture card for this to work at all?
Yeah, as far as I know, you'll need a capture card. This is the only way I've ever known to do it. Maybe theres other ways, though...
Good upload! I like your methods.
Thank you!
Does this work with USB 2.0?
Not with the specific capture card that I used here, no.
@@HighOffBlueHour thanks, I don’t know if USB 2.0 is quick enough

When I connect my lumix to a capture card my camera just flicker and shows no picture.

No problem, thanks for checking out the video
G7 is absolutely gold camera! You can hack it to get unlimited 4K recording.
It really is a great camera!
