Thanks for this. I love it these days when a musician who actually plays stringed instruments gives a review because that is way different than someone who only uses a computer to create sounds. I just ordered a demo UR44C from Sweetwater for $294.99 with free 2 year warranty & free tech support. I sampled lots of interfaces by ear, and it's amazing how people will often buy an interface based on the looks, rather than the sound. Anyway, thanks for doing this and for your kindness. Peace ☮️ ~ God bless.
I'm getting one next week the exact same model I do have 4 guitars can't play them but I can pluck me a tune out of it I just it's compatible with my caustic 3 thanks for the insight on this product and God bless u on your music career
Hi man . Just wondering ,there are so many discussions about audio dropout issue in ur c series and yet nobody is talking about it in RUclips .how it's going with yours ? Does it work fine ?
Is there a way to change the "mix" of the prerecorded audio tracks with your input source so you can reduce or raise the thing you are recording? I can't believe they didn't include a mix knob on the front like Tascam models. I bought this without knowing it didn't have that, is there a way to do it in software??? Thanks.
Sorry, we produced this video nearly 5 years ago so we really can't speak to the specific functionally any more. You may wish to contact the manufacturer directly with any product-specific inquiries. Good luck.
Hi thanks for the great video, I think i want one of these. I'm struggling to find out if i can record all 4 microphones and a line input onto separate tracks on cubase and will it record and affects i use? thanks again
It seems you can't escape UA Apollo on YT. I was planning to get one but wondered is there not something between entry level (I have the UR22 I'm a Yamaha fanboy) and the $1200 Apollo which is a hardware/software system and opens the door to buying lots of UA plugins. I'm hoping UR22c is it.
Hey I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 i7 16gb ram... my usb only 3.0 and I tried. Using my old Behringer umc hd404 but it’s 2.0 and it gives me pops... I heard this interface is 3.0 r ur USB ports 3.0? Wondering what I could do .. there’s nothing to fix my pops... just bought the laptop and I’m back waiting on paychecks for another interface ..
I had 1 for a week , but the left channel went out and I had to return it. No problems returning it but I never replaced it. just got my money back. I had like 2 ms latency so nothing. Sounded great. but the software was like programming linux in Russian blindfolded and drunk....but still may get another one.
Great video! Need your help: I want to try my UR44C outdoor (without electricity) using just a powerbank as shown in steinberg UR22C Video tutorial but LIGHT ALWAYS BLINKS.....
Is the zero latency only when using USBC? I use the old model 44 and it can occasionally jam me up. Seriously looking at this unit and it's big brother 816C.
Hi Great video! A question, do have any idea why in my UR44(no the C one) the power light keeps blinking? I using Catalina OS. Any tips, Thanks in advance
Hi Marco, unfortunately we do not provide support for this product. You would need to contact Steinberg directly to troubleshoot any product issues. Best of luck.
Can UR44C be used to connect ipad pro with electric piano korg D1 and speaker JBL 305p to make the sound source for playing ipad pro sound out of the speaker?
@@performermag Yes I use 2021 iPad pro.But I don't know if I can use UR44C to make sound from the speaker while playing the ipad pro source with electric steel.
You simply use either channel 1 or 2 -- these are Hi-Z only for 1/4" connections and mic-level for the XLR connection. All of this is covered in the manual, which you can download for free on the Steinberg website. steinberg.help/hardware-manuals/ur44c/
Depends what you need. The Steinberg has more mic inputs on the front panel, if that's a deciding factor for you. Both mic pre's are good, although I'd give a slight edge to the Focusrite especially with the "AIR" option engaged on vocals.
@@performermag I have this UR44C, the thing that tipped it for me was the line inputs. You could actually have 6 simultanious inputs. I use my own outboard mic preamp that I plug into the line input in the back.
please tell me...in ur22 there is the mix input / daw knob .. and here? I'm used to switching from the sound of the instrument to that of the daw .. if I wanted to take it how would I do this?
You use the DSP and setup software that comes with it to adjust monitoring settings. For more specific questions, we recommend contacting Steinberg directly. We do not manufacture this product. Thanks.
I seriously believe that you are taking the "using a guitar as a "phallic object" thing a little to far. That instrument is sheer guitar porn. After I get this interface, I will record the master built 60's relic through a pro reverb with 11/52's, and sure 57, to remind you where it all started. Just as a reference. You too FUNKY.. Thanks for the vid.
We found the preamps to be quite good on the UR44c. Not quite as good as the ones with Rupert Neve Transformers in the next step up from Steinberg, but still pretty clean at this price point.
You don't. You plug your USB mic directly into your computer's USB input. The UR44c is made for standard microphones with XLR connections or line-level instruments with 1/4" outputs.
Gotta love a real world review made by a real guy in his kitchen. Subbed!
Great review! It sounds great! Nice guitar playing!

How did you get a discount?
Sweetwater sometimes sells demo units at a discount (mostly open-box customer returns or scratch-n-dent units they can't sell as new)
Just ordered one myself! You seem like a chill dude, subbed

the playing at the end.. damn.

I enjoyed the review, thanks!

Great video, and great guitar skills. Thank you.
Hi bro, i want to get 44c. Basicaly I wont need the power adpater if I am using laptop, or correct me
Correct, you can power it over USB if you wish.
Your guitar playing was worth it! Great review! I think you forgot to mention it's a 32bit interface.
Does that make any difference compared to 24 bit ones?
Ur44c or audient id14 , which one is best ?
What DAW are you using? Im planning to buy this interface for recording my drums
It comes with Cubase AI, but you can use any DAW you'd like
@@performermagdo you still have , use and recommend this unit or is there better units for better deals nowadays ?
There’s a used one for sale for $250 Canadian and I was pandering the idea.
Did it come with the 12V AC adapter?
Yes, although it can also be bus-powered, which we find more convenient.
thanks what about the latency?

Great review! I can’t find the info anywhere online but does this work well with Ableton 10? Any info greatly appreciated 😊
It should work with any modern DAW. You'll just need to configure your I/O settings in Ableton.
I've a question for you: can I use the input 1&2 Hi-z inputs as line inputs?
Yes, and that would give you 4 line level inputs total if you chose to use them in that way.
"definitely dont beat ur interface" lol great review man

How to connect the UR44C to laptop? Just using the usb cable coming with the UR44C?
Yep.
@@performermag ok, thx.

We didn't experience any latency issues on our MacBook Pro equipped with 4 USB-C ports.

What's the difference between this one and the ur44 (with no C)?
It adds 32-bit conversion vs 24-bit in the old version, and also USB 3.1 with USB-C connectors as opposed to USB 2 with the old-style USB connectors.
How to enable Hi Z? Thanks

Vokal?
Are you asking if it can handle vocals? Sure it can.
i use cubase too!
Does this work in fl studio?
Yeppers.
No direct-playback mixing knob???
it has zero latency for monitoring and tracking
does it come with the adapter?
It's bus-powered over USB-C, so you can simply power it from a laptop or PC.

Can I connect 250ohms headphones through the outs will it be enough for the cans?
You should be fine with any high-impedance headphones.
