I really needed to watch this movie - modern masterpiece. A modern, urgent story and a portrait of a society that has changed little. Arthur could be you, me or our next door neighbor. A film that made us think every time, before going to sleep. Hugs from Brazil. 🙏🏻✨🌟

When he asks De Niro " to introduce him as Joker" it serves two purposes. First when he does what he is going to do nobody will know (for a while) who it was that did whatever he is going to do and it introduces the Joker TO THE WORLD !!!
You won't forget this movie. It was amazing.
The masks remind me more of a clown version of V for Vendetta, or maybe what we are seeing of the new Watchmen. Or real life Anonymous. This chaotic force, terrifying in their hidden ubiquity, which Joker is going to coopt for his own purposes.
Oh man, there are so many movies and games coming out to keep me entertained. I love it.

I like how Phoenix isnt doin anything crazy with his voice, at least not yet in the characters development. Nicholson's the only other guy who didnt do a crazy voice change n I actually like it.

Sweet baby Jesus, this looks FANTASTIC. Look, every single human being has a little slice of crazy. Its very close to the sense of humor. Our ability to laugh at things and sometimes laugh at things that are not actually funny. Some have a larger slice than others, and some are just all bat-shit. I think that is the appeal of Joker. We love to see our own inner crazy come out and be displayed so damn well.
I'm completely jacked to see this movie. I hope the movie is full of subtlety and nuance as these trailers have been as regards to the facial acting. A psychological character piece on the most psychotic character.
This movie is fantastic. Best DC movie I have seen. At the same time it was super uncomfortable and sad. The trombone moment at the talkshow was one of the few moments in the movie that made me laugh.

I think it's going to be very interesting where they (intentionally) cross The Dark Knight Returns and The King of Comedy. Obviously it's no coincidence they hit up DeNiro for this then scrambled it by having him play the Jerry Langford role to Joker's Rupert Pupkin. Except Joker will never stay in that narrow Pupkin box. We all know that already.
If you saw my OG comment, you would know I was blessed with the opportunity to work on this film. I can’t tell you much, but just know the original idea for the film was to tell this long, convoluted and heart/warming and gut-wrenching story about the Joker and his origin. Then at the end of the film, you would see Joaquin a dress the camera and realize that it was all bullshit. The entire film. And we pull away and see he’s still in Arkham Asylum talking to a pre-Harley Quinn. This would’ve led up to the Batfleck solo film. Which was going to be “Assault on Arkham.”

Joaquin did research and met with people who suffer with pathological laughter (PLC) It's a neurological disorder, and that's how he came up with his laugh.

This trailer was truly captivating...I want to be in this world for more than 2 hrs.
It’s awesome that this isn’t ‘the’ Joker it’s ‘a’ Joker and I totally get what Todd Philips and Phoenix are going for, this version is less of a crime boss of Gotham and more of a bottom of the barrel underdog who is done with being treated as such and leads a revolution to overthrow Thomas Wayne and the politicians of Gotham

Idk if you guys will ever see this, but I hope you do. I work at Warner Bros. as a Script Supervisor and was blessed with the opportunity to work on this film. Let me tell you this, you guy are the ONLY people that have caught the transition of Joaquin’s laugh. You guys noticed the transition in the “Rocketman” trailer and now this. You guys realized that yes, he has an amazing laugh. But it’s not about the laugh, not at all. The laugh is there to just express the absurdity of the Joker character, but his awareness of being able to turn it on and off like that is the whole point of who the Joker is. That ability to know what people want and then to flash glimpses of it, all to just take it away in snap (no Thanos). That shot of him laughing was supposed to be for the audience and reactors watching the trailer. Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Phillips knew people wanted to hear the laugh. But they wanted to show more to it. That’s why Joaquin transitioned from serious, to laughing and back to serious.
I can’t believe you guys got that. The only reactors on RUclips to notice it. Amazing!!!

This joker trailer showing the fall into darkness to a struggling man trying 2 live 🤡 I've heard that talk of OSCAR worthy bye
Simple story. He tries to be a comedian. He gets invited on to the talk show to do standup and thinks his jokes are going to “kill” the crowd with laughter in a good way. He performs his jokes and I think maybe De Niro somehow tells the audience not to laugh on purpose and later Joker sees the tv segment of De Niro making a mockery of his stand up. That’s when he starts to go crazy.
He returns to the show probably after a few events that take place in order to raise his confidence before hand. He goes back for another standup in full clown make up and De Niro doesn’t recognize him this time so he lets him perform again. He either kills De Niro live at the show or he does something sadistic to force the crowd to keep laughing
