    Excellent review! I hope the RASA6 becomes a “trickle down” product to be used separately- I’d happily throw it on my AM5 with my ASI533MC

      Thank you. I really hope the imaging circle can support a 4/3" or APSC sensor. If so it would be an amazing scope. The built in focuser and dew heater would be a bonus.

    Never spent this much on a scope before. Most expensive one I have is an AD8. I'm seriously trying to talk myself into this scope now.

    God I wish I'd found this review a month ago - absolutely the clearest explanation for someone who this is probably built for - newbies! I only have a SeeStar at the moment, waiting for clear skies in Seattle, but a month of research on top of remnants of a love for the hobby in my younger days has me certain that I'll want more in the next year. My mind has become spaghetti with all the math, measurements, brands and the lingo. I know long time hobbyists can argue against it, and I understand, but I don't have as many years as I'd like left to learn all that they've spent decades learning.

      Glad you found it useful my friend. I've been obsessed with astronomy for almost 30 years and with astrophotography for almost as long so I love to share everything I know. Feel free to post any questions you have under an of my videos and I'll be happy to answer them as best as I can :)

      @@AbdurAstro I loved the hobby when I was young, but life took over, and I find myself ready to retire, so NOW is the time to breathe life back into it. And since you offered, I want to learn to process the FLT files. I'm "comfortable" with image processing for photo touchups, etc., but since I'm basically starting from scratch (with some confidence), should I invest my time in Siril or PixInsight? Plenty of cloudy nights in Seattle to get reasonably handy with one of them.

    I agree with you. It was a missed opportunity for a Rasa6 which would be an instant buy for me (as long as it is corrected to the 2600 sensor size). The Evolution mount is also very heavy even without the wedge. It would be much more portable on the AM5.

    • @AbdurAstro
      @AbdurAstro  6 месяцев назад

      Totally. If Celestron does release the OTA separately, the imaging circle will be my main consideration. If it can correct to APSC, I would pair it with my ASI2600MC. It would pair very well with an AM5 or even an AM3.

    A question for you. I'm absolutely loving the new tech being introduced and looks like it's time for me to upgrade my Nexstar. I'm noting that the Unistellar has an actual Nikon eye piece that allows you and your company to view what it is you may possibly want to photography. Would you say that's a nice + over the Celestron model?

    • @AbdurAstro
      @AbdurAstro  4 месяца назад

      Apologies for the late response. The new tech is certainly fascinating and I am excited by the advances being made. If you enjoy the experience of looking through an eyepiece (I certainly do), then you might prefer the Unistellar over the Celestron. The Celestron model does have a speed advantage over the Unistellar since it is f2 vs F3.9 of the Unistellar so it would have an advantage for astrophotography. But it doesn't have an option to look through without sending the image to your phone, so the Unistellar wins there. I think if you are sharing the views with company, they will be more impressed by looking through an eyepiece (even an electronic one) than they would with looking at the picture on a phone.

      I have one for a simple, quick to set up scope to carry with me traveling. I've only had one clear night since I got it, but WOW. Can't say enough good about the Seestar. Excellent first astrophotography scope. Great for beginners. Excellent price for what you get. As far as wanting it to run longer, it will charge while working, so a battery pack can keep it running night after night, plus it can be charged from a USB C cell phone charger. It's so quick and easy, it makes it hard to stay on one target as long as you should.
      Definitely get the ZWO Seestar S50. Even if you already are into astrophotography. It is absolutely the best bang for the buck.

    Can u make moon observation, live moon or this one is not designed for moon observation?

    • @AbdurAstro
      @AbdurAstro  5 месяцев назад

      You can make live moon observations. However you can't capture too much detail on the moon because of the short focal length.

    Can you confirm the image at position 12:16 - 12:18 was made with the Celestron Origin ? Or is it with your DIY equipment ?

      Hi. At 12:00 I state that this was taken with my DIY setup. The image of the same target with the Celestron Origin (from the samples Celestron provided) is shown before and after my image :)

      Great footage 🙂! I bought a WO GT102 refractor f/4 with a EQ-6R PRO, an ASI Air plus and an ASI MC1600 PRO. I just need to find time to set things up. Do you think I could get good results with my current setup ? Like the Origin, or like yours ? I really need some time to setup and test my gear 👌👌

    How would this do with planets, solar and lunar?

    • @AbdurAstro
      @AbdurAstro  3 месяца назад

      It wouldn't be great for planets, solar, or lunar due to the short focal length. It can still image them but you won't get too much detail. You will get better results with an ED refractor, Dob, or a regular SCT.

    The only thing that kills this as a concept is the exorbitant price for what is in essence a 6 inch rasa using an uncooled older camera on an alt-az mount and using celestrons crappy nexstar system. $4000 is very rich for what they offer and when you factor in exchange rates, taxes and retail markup these are retailing just short of $7000 AUD I mean what the actual????? And before someone says "It's f2 you only need short subs, well for real deep sky not orion you need longer subs. Also the sample images are woeful for the price you pay.

    • @AbdurAstro
      @AbdurAstro  6 месяцев назад

      Agreed. The price is high for all smart telescopes right now (except the SeeStar S50 and Dwarf 2) compared to the results. A DIY system like the one I put together in the video would produce superior results. The extra convenience comes at a cost but the cheaper models are a good way for beginners to get into the hobby if they don't want to spend countless hours learning the hobby. I still recommend a DSLR, short refractor/lens, and star tracker for most beginners as that can produce excellent results. I would love to push this scope to it's limits and see what it could produce with enough exposure time.

      @@AbdurAstro Not everyone has the time and willingness to dedicate to astronomy like serious hobbyists do. You open the market through these products. I have an Equinox and although I do not use it that much, I have used it. I never bought a DIY combination like you guys use because of the first line of my paragraph. I have more money than free time, and many people does.

    • @AbdurAstro
      @AbdurAstro  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@jango71 Totally understandable. This scope and other similar solutions are designed for convenience which comes at a cost. I have more time (though never enough) than money so this isn't marketed to me. I made sure to cover both the pros and the cons of this scope in the video and the convenience is definitely a huge pro.

    Something surprising 🧐? Why this exaggeration for this telescope only!!! Is it possible that there is no cool camera, no large size, and many other things? The most important thing is the stability of the telescope from vibration!!?? I will not and will not buy it even if it is $4 👍 and I will never give up HD11 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
