Sonic CD (2011) - Cosmic Eternity - Believe In Yourself (Good Ending)

- You'd think there's no difference between this and the original, right? WRONG.
In the 2011 port of Sonic CD, they kept both the US and JP soundtracks, but they altered the 2 JP vocal themes. Both the opening and the ending (Cosmic Eternity - Believe in Yourself) have been instrumentalized. If any of you remember Wild ARMs 2's vocal themes and how they were handled during localization, it's just like that.
Anyhoo, here's the good ending, taken from the iOS version (though it applies to the other platforms - Xbox 360, PS3, Android, and presumably PC - as well.)
I don't own the video or the game (well, I bought it, but you know what I mean).

But again, I'm so grateful, I watched the movie and loved it!!! How have I not heard of it? Same, because not only is that when my favorite part of the song comes on, but it also shows Sonic having fun even though his life is at stake.
What I really loved was 0:23-0:57. It had that "i just rescued someone while saving the day and everything's gonna be alright with the hero gets kiss by the girl" moment

Metallic Madness wasn't even in this ending cutscene, apparently. Sonic and Amy are getting out of Stardust Speedway, funnily enough
That's why the scenes recreating your trek through the zones stops at the Stardust Speedway race.

@Star Warrior same man, Junio Sonic legit became my fav sonic design after the opening cutscene, i literally thought "something bad's gonna happen to him", and when the mountain exploded in the ending cutscene i legit thought Sonic was gonna get crushed by one of the falling rocks and die, if that happened i would be traumatised
I remember finishing the game just to hear the ending music and the amazing animations. Classic sonic forever! I'm 16 yet I wish I could be born in this time when sonic was actually cool.

Casey Rankin was a celebrity in Japan.
When celebrities do music, there tends to be a huge toll associated with rights.
Additionally, Sonic CD is only $3, and getting the rights would probably jack up the price by a few dollars.

The lyrics were taken out as it were the rights from Casey Rankin, one of the two male vocalists who passed away in 2009 and it seemed like his estate wasn't willing to give the rights to the lyrics for the re-release which is a shame since the original '93 release was amazing.
They resolved the issue with the female singer of Cosmic Eternity - Believe In Yourself for Sonic Origins!!
But i love it more without lyrics

This was made bedore the game was finished, so that's why Tidal Tempest probably isn't in. Also, the second scene was supposed to be a level, nicknamed R2 by the fans, that was eventually scrapped

I have the original Sonic CD for PC, (not for SEGA CD), but eventually, the modern OS stopped support for it. So I never played it again. Until it was released on Steam. This was my favorite childhood game, and now it continues to be my favorite game. The level design, the soundtracks (whether it be US or JP, I loved both of them), and how you could control the outcome of the future of the Little Planet, whether it be for the better or for the worse. Nostalgia at its very best!
Timed this masterpiece's beat drop to 2021 and 2023, can't wait to time this again 59 seconds before 01/01, hopefully this year will be as hopeful as this track :)

With the Time Stones and the world restored, Studio Junio 'believed in themselves' and broke away from Toei Animation to animate for Batman: The Animated Series. But seriously though they did. ;)

These FMV's are literally the only quality thing that Toei Animation have ever made. I think the main reasons for that are 1. Simpler character design compared to some of their other shit such as DBZ, and 2. Few-time occurrences resulting in a bigger budget than what would come from a series.
Probably cause Studio Junio were the ones to actually animate it and it wasn't for a TV show which I assume needs things to be done quickly

I really hope I'm not the only one that laments the loss of the OVA era sonic. Back before adventure when you wanted animated depictions of who classic Sonic was CD and the OVA epitomise original classic Sonic. He was cocky, energetic, thrill seeking but also had a hell of an attitude. If generations story failed in any department it was the horrible depiction of classic Sonic.
