    These amps have a notorious spike in the 400Hz area. Put an eq in front dropping these frequencies hard works wonders. Tightens up crunch and high gain sounds and makes the cleans way glassier

    All of you haters need to calm down. I think a lot of players are too obsessed with how much gear costs. Does this amp have the best tone ever? No, of course not, but it's $109! I'd be willing to bet that if most of you heard the opening song and were told that it had been recorded with a more expensive amp you would believe it and not have anything negative to say about the tone. I've owned an original Fender Deluxe and a modded Soldano HR 50, and I still like my little Mustang III a lot.

    this is probably the downside of this amp. It has a set eq when you change amp-model. All you have then is the Bass and Treble knob, and the more you turn them the suckier of sound you'll get, it's beyond saving. But apparently you can change the mids and presence if you hook it up to a computer with a USB but that's just stupid...

    I appreciate you doing all of these walkthroughs with these cheaper priced amps. I don't play Metal myself, but it's nice to hear demos of amps that most people can afford - as opposed to custom shop, high dollar amps. You do some of those, too - but there's a nice mix.
    Much appreciated, brother. \m/

  • @turboguitar100

    I have one of these and with the Fuse software you can get any sound you can imagine. The only thing is you get a hollow and weak sound like that because of the speaker they put in it. I couldn't recommend using the USB output more, it sounds a hell of a lot better. If you really want to mic it up you could do a couple things to make it sound better, either a speaker replacement and tweak your patches to leave out cab emulation or make an external jack to run it into a cab and, again, turn off the emulation on the amp in the software. This really can do metal very well as well as any other genre of music, you just have to know how to use it. I've heard that the new v2 series is even better and had more effects and amps to choose from.

    That amp is great for recording or playing at low volumes. Most of the presets are probably useful for some purpose. If you use the fuse software you can get just about any sound out there if you know what your doing.
    I have a huge Carvin Xamp but you can barely turn it up so I am exclusively using the Mustang 1. I see no reason to even mic it when you can get a driver and use the USB.

    • @Mjaquie
      @Mjaquie 9 лет назад

      djkoz78 an amp sounds different when u mic it thats fact. Also u can use the software on computer to have loads of options in tweaking the mustang. Especially the I and II are really needed to be tweaked with the software since it has less options on the amps panel it self (mid knob for example)

    • @djkoz78

      djkoz78 stock presets are shitty. you should make one yourself. or download from mustang website. btw line 6 spider 4 shittest model amp.

    • @djkoz78
      @djkoz78 9 лет назад +1

      Enes T I should clarify. I didn't purchase the Line 6 Spider IV 15 watt or 30 watt, I bought the 150 watt then bought the short board Mkii Foot Pedal which also allows me to upgrade the firmware and then create my own tones just like the Fender does. However the Fender Mustang clean sound were awesome sounded amazing but the Metal Tones no matter how I tweaked and adjusted all sounded TERRIBLE to me. I'm a beginner so presets are all I know yet. I'm looking at ways to dial in the correct tone I may be looking for, but with the Fender Mustang I V2 30 Watts I was locked into the preset parameters and yes you could add different sounds/effects like Reverb or Echo etc.. but it would not let me out of those parameters that were already preset. With the Line 6 Spider IV 150 Watts not only does it give me those options to switch off the parameters by hitting the manual but the clean sounded amazing as well. I found some metal tones I really like and have been fooling with them so far but with the 300+ presets on the amp along with the ability to manually dial in the tone and also has the ability to Loop and then if I want when I get better and more understanding of tone creation I can go to Line 6 free software using the pedal and create just like the Fender. But as a beginner I was looking for 2 tones clean and a metal that sounded like a general metal tone I've heard before. Which I found with the line 6. The other stuff can come later. Also the Fender after 2 days of having it started this LOUD hum that would not go away no matter what I tried from facing the amp a different way to purchasing a ground lift. And guess what? It was only making the sound on the Metal tones. So I took it back to Guitar Center and spoke to some of the guys there they said nothing beats a tube amp but if you can't afford that then they suggested several modeling besides the Line 6 Spider IV and before I made any decision I went and looked at reviews and videos and this was the one that met my needs. So far I'm happy.

    Anyone knows what guitar tune that is? Maybe C or perhaps C#?
    I also wish Ola would say wich scale length his Sola6 has... It comes in 3 different options.
    But I surpose it's the 26, 1/16"?

    Right about 3:50 he turns up the treble and I hear a lot of raunchy 2-3k frequency. Then he changes it and its back to sounding great cause those harsh high mids become less present. Drive tones always sound better to me with 2-3k dialed back a bit.

    i can't tell the difference between tube and digital at high gain. However, when it comes to low-gain stuff nothing beats tubes.
