    Thank you for taking the time to make this video and share your knowledge! Thankfully, I've never seen the poison sumac, but like you said, the clusters don't even look anything like staghorn or smooth sumac.
    I learned about this nearly a decade ago. I didn't know about its anticancer benefits, but I did know that it's anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory properties and vitamin C, antioxidants other known benefits that are yet to be discovered 😂 This stuff is a very pleasant, refreshing, nutritious and cheap drink.
    I have heard that when you use heat, the water extracts more tannins and that the longer you allow the room temperature infusion, the more tannins leach into the water. I've recently begun to only do 1-4 hour infusions and have found that there hardly anything left to the berries after a couple of hours. Do you freeze or dehydrate the seeds for storage?

      I dry the sumac and freeze elderberries. Sumac grows abundantly on my property so I harvest a lot of fresh clusters, but the ones I store, I dry. Eating "clean" is rare now a days with all the prepackaged and "fast food" people are used to. Foraging free makes fresh food that much more appealing!
