Great question. So in the morning during to first part of their route they collect yard debris and garbage at the same time. Then they dump the yard debris at a different location. Then back on route to fill the now empty side with trash. My next video will show the split body only dumping one side. Thanks for watching.
Great video 👍🏾 Just a question. How do you weigh your loaded trailers while you are loading them? I only ask because the loader is just pushing into the trailer
Great question. So the TS worker has a pretty good idea how much trash each truck has dumped based on the size of the load. Also the drivers give him a close estimate of how many pounds they have dumped. He also know the rang of how many tons should be in the trailer. So basically he eye balls it. Then when he thinks he has enough he take the trailer around and weighs it.
I'd imagine if they were efficient at it, the alley in which the trailer is pulled thru and sits on while being filled, would be scaled to show the weight, but in America we aren't exactly efficient at much.
@@philbuell6657 true! The TS workers ask the management to build a scale in the tunnel but because of how the building was originally built they are unable to add one with out shutting down the transferstaion for months. That would be lost money so yeah.
Here in the UK, if you throw a washing machine out with the normal rubbish(in a dumpster), they go absolutely crazy. What is the harm in throwing a washing machine out with my normal household waste? same goes for AA batteries.
@@AllThingsDope.I cut up this massive television and put it in my bin to ensure it went to landfill. Recycling is something that only little children should be engaging in as part of a school project.
I hope they aren't putting 50k on a 53' trailer. Way overloaded. A kalmar ottawa yard dog and a loaded trailer needs to weight about 74.5k. Road tractor weights about 5k more than a yard dog. Road tractor with a 5% sticker can weight 84.5k. But 5% stickers don't work on the highway. I hope the road tractor driver like the over gross or over axle tickets by DOT.
Yes these are 53’ trailers. These are 3 axle with a tag. They are rated for 105k with a road tractor so actually the could have put up to 63k in this trailer but they hardly ever do. Yes the road tractor is about 5k heavier. So if they put 45k-48k in the front and 45-52k in the back it perfectly legal. Thanks for watching.
Interesting TS, tunnel looks very deep must be difficult to pack it in without a long reach loader, but I guess if you're only getting residential trash its probably easier to make weight Edit : didn't finish watching it before I commented lmao
That’s a good point. It really comes down to the customers responsibility. It’s up to each individual customer to properly sort recycling and trash. These trash truck driver use automated trucks so they don’t have a clue what is in each container. So if a customer puts recycling or yard debris in trash then it gets dumped all together. Thanks for watching.
Have you consider it’s pointless to empty the bucket each time if it’s going to get full after each push? Look at 8:40 when he is finished with pushing the load in, he completely dumps the bucket since he knows he is finished. Thanks for watching.

We load 48ft open tops with 20 tons or 40k. We load 53fts with recycling because it's hard to overload with recycling.

Where does all that trash go to after they are full? Amazing videos
These loads get hauled off to a local landfill to be buried. Thanks for watching!
I feel like they should manufacture semi trucks collecting trash at 100ft long and 300ft tall with all this trash lol.
Besides the smell from all that trash!! Man that'd be an awesome fun job!!! 😎 🙋♂️🇨🇦
It’s surprisingly satisfying.
I swear y’all talk about that garbage stink like it’s a BAD thing. Fresh as a spring breeze

loader operator needs to learn how to dump the bucket

The buckets are more used for pushing rather than scooping. If that makes sense

Bet the smell is unbearable!!!
Sometime it’s worse than you can imagine . Other times it’s quite pleasant. Like if there is a load full of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Is it a tractor trailer that the garage goes in to
Yes. its a 53' open trailer that gets loaded. Then it gets hauled off to the landfill. Thanks for watching.
