What a lot of people don’t understand is that yes that’s a nice building, but that company is not just a source of income but it’s a way of life for his whole family. That’s definitely a very nice building and I’m super happy to see him winning
I think you keep the air handler down so you can say “for example” while you show one of your team members something inside the system. Especially considering it’s a high end system that Is intimidating to newer inexperienced techs. I would even include return duct work so you can use that for examples and training “static/return sizing/ filtration” a very overlooked part of our industry. We have one unit on the ground. vertical on a stand in one building with a filter back grille free drawing and a supply plenum/trunk and a horizontal in the other building with a pretty standard flex/plenum setup. We basically never touch the horizontal except for maintenance/repairs. But the vertical has seen more trainees and learning experiences then any other equipment we have in the field.
Could probably even install some permanent access doors, temp probes, and static probes on the system. Maybe even some clear piping to help with condensate/drain conversations. Might just be a fantasy of my own but I’ve always wished I had a vertical perfectly installed with clear doors clear drain pipe and static/temp probes felt like as a tech who really understands a lot of the practices used in residential hvac I would be able to teach people a lot of stuff with this as a resource.
1:30 just get a used trailer instead of a dumpster. Put a weatherproof outdoor wifi extender just outside your house and a outdoor bridge/router under the eaves of your shop with clear line of sight between the two and you won't have to deal with ethernet cable.
1 idea that I'm sure you thought of is that you should get a forklift. Then on the back wall make shelves to stack stuff on in pallets. Shop seems small but then again it might be plenty if your just doing a few units and parts. I like your idea of the Gree flex and foam. Another Idea is that instead of Ethernet cable is to just do wireless. Ubiquiti should have a system that you can use. Also you could mount a Long Range Ubiquiti wifi acess point in or on your house and have it shoot our the signal towards that building.
Where I apply for your company. I’m a four year service tech and would so move down to Tennessee to learn and help grow your business. Love the new shop. Keep grinding.
As a one man company I learn what works for me. Something that can be done in less than half a day. So I would not do any duct work. I can't be stuck somewhere when people out of AC all day.
You'll be real happy with that Gree system. My company became a Select Dealer for Gree a few years back and I've been super impressed with the units. That shop looks sweet dude 🤘
I'd have a new 3 phase power drop done by the power company so you have options in your shop. The other thing I was gonna say was... figure out where you want your compressor and air lines now and run them before you finish the walls. But... not sure you wanna do that if you'll be spraying them. I'm sure you'll do it up nice like you always do! Congrats! It's comin along quick!
if you planning to run ethernet to the building, pull a fiber line instead of actual ethernet, you just need some fiber media converters on each end. Just in case if lighting strikes, it doesn't travel through the line and kill your network gear/pc. Theres guides on this online.
You do the trade well Zac I learn so much from your channel funny thing is my current employer told me to watch youtube after I passed my epa if I wanted to keep learning more. Lol old dude I've learned alot from him but and my coworker. But what I've learned from watching you is so much more detailed
Congratulations man that building looks great. Thanks for bring us along in your journey. We would all hope to accomplish that goal one day. Thanks for the vids
I know both hvac and electrical deal with electricity, but with hvac are you less likely to be shocked or killed? Also around here the plumbing Union pays a bit more than the hvac union, but who gets paid more in general when they own their own business? Thanks
Beautiful shop great size. Kinda weird framing though. Framed like a barn. Gonna be tricky to run electrical since there's no wall studding. I guess you can run conduit though. I'd take that shop anyday!!
That's great, you got your shop together, It looks small from the outside, yeah your going to have to figure out what kind of power supply your going to get, either run a separate power supply or run a sub panel from your house, it depends on how much power your going to need, there are ups and downs on both, if you have a separate power supply the power company will have to be involved, if you run it from the house you just need inspectors and permits, Good luck.
Zac, you must pair your mini-split with a Cielo Breez smart AC controller! It would be so great to set up cooling/heating schedules for your AC or just simply control it from your phone when you're away. I've also sent you an email, check it out!
Zac do you ever run into any guys from REA in Nashville. I work for the office in Knoxville but we have one in Nashville as well. Just curious. I’m sure Nashville has tons of companies. We do commercial work primarily. Love your videos and work.
He's gotta buy dealing meth like Gus Fring, and this is a coverup front business. Seriously, I'm glad to see you growing your business and channel. It's a nice shop and the way you're growing it will become small pretty fast.
Nice but I hope you’ve segregated your business property from your residence or you may lose both in a nasty lawsuit. I’m interested to learn how you went about this if you ever care to share.
It’s not as easy as hanging up a sign and make money. There’s some real stuff that complicates the stuff that seems super simple. Like his whole day went sideways, but because of a service call he had to go run, which is income and then he is trying to build a shop and operate a business and have employees do a good job for his customers….. I wouldn’t recommend starting a company from the ground up either. Establishing a solid customer base that’s enough to employ a guy to help you is a HUGE deal. The time on the edge of that burnt me out. I loved the way of life but I didn’t have the grit to get past the point where I could hire help and continue growing.
@@georgewelker853 it almost is as easy as putting up a sign lol a sign your truck your tools and you will have more customers rhan you need in like a month

Congrats Bro, Keep Pushing!!
We use dump trailers. (1) for scrap metal and (1) for trash. Works well and you can just haul it off as needed. Just an option for you.
Good for you and good luck!
Why not mini splits with heads ? In your garage
congratlations! looks great!
great job pulling it without hubpuller. I learned that shit when u had no puller lol!
*Great job buddy
Let’s get the update man!
Hi great video and nice shop. Just wanted to mention be careful with the dumpster/dumpster truck, it could crack your concrete!
Beautiful building, congratulations
Bet the neighbors love the new view

3 phase at a residential address is overkill and super expensive.
Much success to you
Keep up the good work. Definitely one of my favorite hvac channels.
Shout out to Trevor as well. Peace ✌

You should have tried to sell them a new Unit with the fan motor going out . I also think unit looked pretty rough .
And yes you should always push for the furnace to . Get them some good efficient equipment with a nice variable speed blower motor.
What’s the update on the shop. I wish I had space to build one. They don’t allow so tall where I live I’ll be building a 9ft tall
good job getting shop up. that van needs that wrap. You figure out your logo and story?
Do you have any issues with your field piece VP87 vacuum pump tripping GFI receptacles as soon as you flip the on switch?
Beautiful shop great size. Kinda weird framing though. Framed like a barn. Gonna be tricky to run electrical since there's no wall studding. I guess you can run conduit though. I'd take that shop anyday!!

Great video Zack
Congrats on the new shop! How much for the 30x40?
