- "This is the tragedy of one with power such as his; seeing what could have been. Seeing that, be it victory, loss, or stalemate, he will be alone in the end. And that end will be of his making. His fight is to undo this destiny he has created, and he will burn everything to avoid it, if he must. But we've seen how it ends. He is the last. Such is the tragedy of the Freeman Immortal."

Gordon Geeman's walk animation is a combination of three different G-Man animations mushed together and edited to be a cohesive whole. Mostly did the trick.

I saw you on Tumblr and I gotta say, I'm impressed by your original concepts.
So from what I can tell, the story is that Freeman, or some version of him, got ahold of Gman's powers and saw what his inevitable fate would be after driving The Combine off earth, eternally resting in the ruins, overtaken by healed nature.
They held a funeral for him
All the birds and the bees, the air and the wind, the dirt and the grass
A somber celebration of both mourning and a final sigh of relief, for he was the last man on Earth
So, from what I interpret, the Gordon Freeman we see on the HEV suit (the dead one) is probably none other than the Gordon Freeman from Epistle 3. After being left behind by the G-Man in favor of Alyx, and saved in the last moment by the Vortigaunts from his impending doom aboard the Borealis, Gordon was sent to a far away shore, away from everything and everyone. And, from what I can see, it wasn't only in terms of space, but also, in time, probably due to the Borealis' time-and-space-shifting properties. After the ending, Gordon would have been transported thousands, even millions of years away from where he was, on a desolated Earth, where no other human remained, cursed to walk miles upon miles on an empty world, where the only truly alive thing was him. Left alone, he was left to wither away, only to be slowly forgotten by time, with the only thing that remained of him being the armor that had sustained his injuries, the suit that not only allowed him to survive through countless hardships, but also the last connection he had to his past: the last connection with Black Mesa, with the resistance, and with his friends, was now reduced to a shell, a coffin for his body.
But, what is the other Gordon we see, looking at his own lifeless body? My theory is that it is another Gordon, from another faraway reality. A reality where thing turned out different, where maybe someone took other choices in their career through existance. Maybe this Gordon was curious about what other fate would he had have if things had continued the way they were originally supposed to. That, we cannot fully know, for his intentions and the knowledge we have about him still lie unknown and ungraspable.
Post Ramble: I love how this kind of images can make someone, like myself, think of a whole interpretation from such a simple yet strinking couple of frames. Great work!
I like your take on the other Gordon, he's an OC of mine but his characterisation is very close to what you described lol. Done a few videos on him, you should check it out: ruclips.net/video/noP7RNpEw8g/видео.html
@@Sepko Yeah, don't worry about it, I already checked it out previously! I've watched some of your videos in the past. They're really great!
gee I hate impending room
@@genericscottishchannel1603 you can say that again, the thought of that room... It scares me
Beautiful interpretation of this ❤️
I’ve got a vague feeling that crow was a semblance to the crow we first saw getting caught up on the Barnacle, but this time it can fly free.
finally free from Gman's clutches
Could be unintentional but that's a great catch.
I like the addition of the gloves to Gordon's ensemble.
I know absolutely nothing of half life… but this….while sad…is almost calming
A peaceful moment, sad yet not, stolen from time and dimensional possibilities, a beautiful respite for a man who has no time to rest, seeing a version of himself who is finally at peace.
If the G-Gordon is indeed the one from 'Someone Else' then a part of me honestly thinks the corpse is luckier in a way.
That Gordon died surrounded by a world that is now healing itself. A world that is no longer being stripped of every resource it has by the Combine. A world where he is no longer needed and where he can finally rest. Perhaps he was indeed the last man on Earth, but the planet he fought to save will go on. It has survived mass extinctions before.
G-Gordon meanwhile has gained immense power, but at the cost of his soul, as that very power twists him into something with only a very vague resemblance to what he once was.
That said, he shows less scorn to this alternative than he did the HEV wearing Gordon he encounters in 'Someone Else'.
Regardless, a beautiful image that provokes so much speculation and thought. Excellent job!
In my head, this is early on in his “career”, still under the employment of the G-Man and such. This off-the-books trip to see what he potentially could have been is the turning point to his resentment of his “employment” and his alternate selves.
@@Sepko Can we make "G-Man and Such" the unofficial name for his employers?
This is gorgeously terrifying, but also a huge reference on the Gordon freeMAN is the GMAN theory
So its him?
this is the kind of solemn feeling at the end of The Terror, even with similar music. similar themes. love it
This is so thought provoking
Absolutely stunning. Beautiful framing. Solemn atmosphere, really sold by how Alive Gordon is walking past his alternate-self's skeleton like he's in a museum, very detached. Wonderful work!
To see who you might have been were but a few things done differently...
I wonder if he pitied or envied that other Gordon...
I love it, so atmospheric. Feels like I'm there
It's so peaceful
I was crying, seriously...
This needs more views. *It is art.*
I haven't seen something so beautiful in a while. Amazing work/
I spoke of my return to this shore...
I can’t stop watching this
Like a lot of comments, I teared up a little bit watching this. The beauty of the ambient piece "Lavender" by artist Foxwood really helping to sell the image you're portraying, alongside the soundscape work interlaced between.
I have had a bit of fun imagining some of your Freeman Immortal series ending with a fading in and out Lambda symbol, as if to tease a game we may or may not see in our lifetimes...
God I love the Half-Life series so fucking much. Thank you for blessing us with your creativity.
This is beautiful.
Beautiful…yours in infinite finality…
Holy shit. This is gorgeous and haunting. I did recognize the Gman animations but they were combined in a way that made it feel new and really fitting for the scene, i love this
Beautiful
God damn
man i need tbh i relly love your work and also cant wait for your futur work, keep it up
Man, Chell must have been so confused after escaping Aperture and seeing everything like this.
Y-y-you d-d-did well fr-feeman
Damn this feels like, like the neutral ending to half life, or some sort of hidden ending. Just damned to rot in a parking lot for eternity.
At least its peaceful.
The Freeman Victorious
I feel like half life has an incredibly nihilistic setting, (and i don't mean the Orwellian aspects, but something far far more existential) and yet its the most uplifting setting by far. The combine are for all intents and purposes the physical manifestation of the idea of what the universe is: cold, uncaring, vast and forever expanding. There is absolutely no reason to even think that humanity can win this war, and yet humanity refuses to bow down, even against the impossible odds, they keep on fighting for their freedom, and that gets us to freeman, a man whos life changed in a single day from an average man with above average intelligence to a freedom fighter who had no choice whatsoever. I'd like to think this freeman, after all the fighting and the events of epistle 3 ,finally lets himself die after refusing to do so for weeks (from his perspective), allowing life on the planet flourish for however many years or millennia before the combine inevitably come back again.
i see you've outdone yourself once again
this is amazing
I've got a fun theory, gman retires in a way and makes gordon the new gman
honestly i think gman would've arranged something for him, maybe a funeral
I know this is a fan adaptation but now it gets me thinking that G-man might’ve actually been Gordon Freeman the whole time. But it makes think he’s from the future and finally wants to talk.
My stupid theory: After destroying the entire Combine empire, Gordon Freeman dies and is resurrected as Steve, and then... Minecraft begins.
Lmao this actually has potential to become a full-fledged story
BRILLIANT!
i want this as a background
someone's making this in wallpaper engine apparently so keep an eye out
I WAS RIGHT! it did make me cry
this is beautiful
While humanity is gone, life of nature still goes on.
Earth will keep spinning around the Sun.
_Freeman is ded_
_Not big surprise_
Sob epic tears
Feels like one of the endings in HL3.
this is so pretty
that is the most realistic walking ive ever seen wtf
Gordon looks really good in a suit.
Bang mantap bg animasi nya👌👍
😥
The emotions conveyed by this video are very strong. I love your hard work in this. What do you use to animate?
Hey, mate! Can I use your videos for my meme compilations?
Sure just please credit and all that
@@Sepko Sure, thank you!
…Kinda a odd video to put in a meme compilation, don’t you think?
I bet the HEV suit still works.
Okaaaaaay.
what assets did you use for this scene? they look great!
I think a couple of the plants are from an asset pack in the workshop but it's pretty much all Half Life Alyx models.
Hey mate. Can i upload this video on BiliBili? I will mark where the video from.
Sure just be sure to credit and all that please and thanks

Heartbreaking but at least now he finally gets to rest ❤️
👇I liked all the comments 👍
What's the orb coming from Gordon's skull in the end?
probably his soul
@@FQP-7024, but wasn't he staring on his corpse before?
