Ok so it'll have a bit of a flat spot in the middle but should be ok if you keep the revs up. I have V&H straight shots on my carb TC 88. It's all relative, on a little island like GB they are still LAF.
yes, i had the carb re jetted before...A MUST. and kinda, its a small bracket that holds the pipes together towards the transmission(you will have to grind down the screw that comes with the kit) but other than that, bolt them to the head, wipe them off and your ready to ride.
Keep playing with the mapping on your Fuel Pak. If you get the fuel-air ratio just right through the map, it shouldn't pop. You could take it to a shop, and have them dyno tune it.

yes and no, I bought the gasket and the header mounting kit separately. gaskets were easy as 1,2,3 & the brackets fit, I just had to be muscle man to make them
V&H sent me another set of map codes to try and get rid of some popping, but they also told me that its gonna pop no matter what, I will put the new codes in and let you know what happens.
My buddy Kool Aid has a sporty that's fuel injection no thanks I'm a carb man .his bike has to be tweaked with some computer bull shit.just to put slip on pipes

you know what's interesting, I actually lost a little power with these on the low end, but the upgraded air cleaner fixed that.
Did you change your pilot jet? And are these bracketless pipes?

i have the same pipes on my sporty, but my pipes are always poping......alot. any advice to fix that....its FI and i have a V&H fuel pak.
yea mine do the same thing, that's the result of straight pipe. not really anyway to fix it...that I know of

yes exhasut gasket installs are a pain unless you get the copper rings, those are easy to install.

they just kinda hang there, there is a small bracket that holds them together but thats about it. honestly no problem with movement or anything

Steve Riggs didnt need any, mine is a carb.

Harley went fuel injected in 2007 and up almost all motorcycles are carbureted before 2002
@@Scooter3194 Sportsters went fuel injected in 2007. Bigger twins were fuel injected many years prior.
Have the 09 1200 low with these on it.
