My guitar idol for decades now. I cried watching Larry struggle through the tremors but still keep control and play beautifully. To hear him say in a previous NAMM video from the same day that he hadn't picked up a guitar in a month is just tear jerking. My dad was Sinatra's sax player for decades. If he couldn't pick up his horn every day we knew something was up. He made it to 98 but hadn't played for a few months before he passed. We wish Larry only the best, and if he comes to NYC again, you can be sure that we'll be there to see him as we have for years.

Tell your Idol he only needed to learn 3 chords or less, he might have been a multi billionaire now.
Jazzers play too many chords changes in a song.
Poop, cRap music with 3 or less chords makes millions $1,000000,00+ usd
while jazzers playing 500 chord changes in a 3 minute song makes only Ten dollars.
Maybe that's why Larry is making guitars now, because jazz music didn't pay for multiple mansion houses, fast luxury supercars, private jets and fleet of Yatch's !
He dress like a homelss too cause he cant afford all the shit designer drips

They're all at another booth watching Matteo Mancuso over-play. Don't get me wrong, I love Matteo, and there's no doubt he's got the technique of the gods, but when you compare him to a mature stylist like Larry you realize how young Matteo really is and how much growing he still needs to do.

An iconic figure in recorded music, a legendary musician in American culture. His struggles with the shakes are irrelevant to the quality of the music that comes out of his guitar. His chord melody is as astonishing as ever and it's great to see him smile at his own genius.

This is great! We've seen this with many famous/iconic artists, but it always amazes me the passers-by (even some present, sitting) that don't have a clue. You just want to shake them and say, whether it's Carlton, Benson, Johnson, Jackson Jr., Ritenour, Gill, or Burrell, Kessel, Campbell, Reed, Perkins, Dale etc, back in the day - WTH is wrong with you?.. you're witnessing the Paul McCartney (at least) of guitar!
Edit: I know, Carlton's problem is he doesn't shred 🙄

Your comment is the first one on here to acknowledge what was obvious to me on the first few notes; he's suffering from some kind of compromised motor control issue.
