Not a cell phone in sight. I miss those days :(
Baseball seemed to better back then too.

@@mrg8581 i am working this world series in Houston. Tonight was awesome even though the Astros lost
@@stopbullshitting4484 Cool! But it shame Game 1 lasted nearly 4 hours. Most people living in Eastern Time Zone probably in bed by time game ended.
Amen! Im with you there!
Last game ever umpired by John Mcsherry....he collapsed and died three pitches into the opening game next season....RIP
It was at Cincinnati at Riverfront Stadium later Cinergy Field where he collapsed. That game was suspended or cancelled.
The Astros needed this win--and a Rockies' loss--to force a tie for the first NL Wild Card. The Cubs were in the race into the final days, and were only eliminated the day before. Houston did their part, rallying from 6-0 down to win. After the win, the Astros headed for the clubhouse, hoping the Giants would win in Denver and force a one-game playoff at Coors Field. The Rockies didn't listen, and 30 minutes after the Astros' win, they beat the Giants, 10-9 and make the playoffs in just their third year.
Good history report. 🖒👍
All after that player strike.
Had there been no division realignment, the Cubs would have won the N.L East in 1995. Would they have beaten the Braves in the N.L.C.S? Who knows.
At 36:00 Harry tells Sandbergs wife to sit on his lap and she does. I love this guy!
This today would ABSOLUTELY get the Whole Cubs organization fired. Take us back to 1995 please. Joe Poterno Commercial soon after too!
Umpires wearing dress shirts. Much better than the black polo shirts they wear now
Harry Carey sobbing while Gary Presee plays Jingle bells in October is priceless
Man that's tough to watch. Still miss Harry this many years later.

I would like to know why can't an outfielder pick up a baseball following a base hit. It's inexcusable.
Howard Johnson’s last game. 3 for 4
I saw the last of the program where Harry sobs and the organist was playing "Jingle Bells". I was at Montgomery Ward at Lincoln Mall in Matteson, Illinois. Some of the TVs had it on.
Montgomery Ward closed in 1999. Lincoln Mall closed in January 2015 and the building was demolished in 2017.
Didn't realize until later that at least some of Harry's emotion was because Thom Brennaman was leaving. Apparently they got close while Thom was there.
The last few yrs left with WGN as a Superstation status with the ushering in of The WB. And close to the end of the Superstation in general. During this time we would turn to WGN for WB programming as WVTV was still Super 18 and didn't become a WB affiliate till 97-98 I think.
RIP Kevin Foster
Southwest as an Orca Plane! Love these older Commercials.
Because of the strike, the schedule got juggled to the point that we played our final 11 games at home in 1995. Stayed in the race right up to the end too.
I'd also forgotten this was Thom Brennaman's last game with the Cubs and WGN.
It's also the last game Harry called the middle three innings on WGN radio. Pat Huges took over all nine beinging in 1996
Thom Brennemam, another victim of cancel culture. (I mean he shouldn't have said it, but to lose his liveihood?)
Thanks for the upload
