    One of my favourite players growing up. Him, Rob Lee and Pedro. Unbelievable stories here. Top class, lads.

    Great as always but some of Bezs memory has gone. We beat Antwerp 5 nil not Bruges in the first UEFA cup game under Keegan. Bobby was manager after Gullit not Dalglish and a lasagne is less than 7.99 in unos now amongst have been under a fiver in 1995 ;)

    Anybody who doesn't know of Brian "Killer" Kilcline, just go and search for photos of him, and you'll see what John means of his long hair, tash and beard, hard looking player but, but was a rock at the back in his playing days. Great show again lads, just keep 'em coming.

      I remember Brian from school days in Nottingham. At under 12s he was already 6 ft and also had the beard growth Everyone was scared of him. He was unstoppable.

    This was brilliant, had me in stitches. I saw Bess play many times, he was a cracking player up and down that left side, a real athlete with a great engine and this was a great and enjoyable interview , well done and thank yoou

    Dug out an old vhs of away v Wimbledon 95-96 today as converting to dvd.What a great player John was,i thought there was 3 of him on the pitch,was a defender,midfielder & attacker.Legend

    Big fan of you guys 👌 if possible try to get on Stephen Constantine, he’s coached at Millwall and managed India, Sudan, Malawi, Nepal and clubs in Cyprus. Really interesting guy with a lot of good stories

    Always thought John was one of those guys that was genuine, gave 100% at every club he played for, never knew about the OBE, fitting reward for being honest, could have chosen not to say anything re the racism question, instead his honesty opened doors offered an opportunity/purpose after he finished playing

    John is spot on about Pompey,use to love them back then,John Gregory inherited a bunch of nutters with the old Pompey team, Gavin Maguire was a lunatic. Great stories by John!!,he was an extremely underated player.

    Amazing interview, absolutely hilarious. I'm going to enjoy watching the back catalogue of these interviews. The ref ones are brilliant.
    However, the surprise from one of the lads that Beardsley was the best player is flabbergasting, Peter was one best british players ever and deffo the most underrated!!

    Never liked Parky as a player, but as a Podcaster and Interviewer, I could listen to him talk all day 😅 Great show, I loved Bes as a player, despite being a Sunderland Fan as a kid, I loved the Newcastle Team he played in, Beresford, Albert, Ginola, Beardsley, Lee...Class team

    Remember him coming back to st James park for an away game, was brought on as sub to a standing ovation and applause by 52 thousand Geordies, soon as he touched the ball we all booed him lol, the whole stadium laughed and Bez was like "You bastards haha" just laughed cos he knew we were taking the piss

    I've actually been to one of Bez's talks and it was brilliant, I still have my signed photo
    He asked my name, but also asked "What do ya mates call you" so I told him
    When I walked away, he'd signed it to what my mates called me, lovely gesture
    That was in the Meadowfiled club in Heston Newcastle
    Raised a lot of money for charity as well
    He was very entertaining! Pardon the pun, we were "The Entertainers"

    I saw David Hurst in a pub in Ocean Village in Southampton in 1998 as a kid... Remember being shocked he was downing pints a couple of hours before kick-off! Bez explains it here.

    Venison and Bracewell both got chinned in Jacksons on Shields road in Byker by a well known wide boy, they were both giving it the biggin and got slapped. Great craic Johnny lad.

    The Ian he couldn't remember the surname of at Barnsley was Ian Chandler. Won the FA Vase 4 times with Whitley Bay (1 as a player, 3 as manager) and a legend of non league football.

    We should've had a defensive couch that didn't speak to keagan if he wouldn't listen
    The football we played was groundbreaking, just needed to tighten up
    Tino wasn't our downfall, there's a documentary about the Columbia team, that's when the captain got shot for scoring an own goal?!
    Tino called his family from the World Cup and arranged for them to leave the country due to threats from cartels
    Tino was a cool cat
