      @@RadioStaringPlus these two teams rly aren’t good. Indiana University is one of the teams I’ve watched over the past decade and they have some quality players. Matt Turner is a good example of someone who played collegiate soccer and for the USA. Same with Zimmerman, Yedlin, and Tim Ream

    That’s one of the worst free kick walls I’ve ever seen. Stanford’s gk deserves a lot of blame there too. Granted, the goalkeeping in the last minute was horrendous from both teams.

      @@user-nj1zu2nf1x It deflected into the goal because they broke ranks, and a few of them flinched. It was entirely preventable by either them or the keeper. Although, to be fair, they kinda blocked his sightlines and then separated perfectly to allow a window for the ball.

      The goalie has a chance to save it. Unless you block his view. And deflect it so he can't guess the trajectory. And flinch so your body acts like the perfect back board. And move out of the way so there's a large enough hole for 3 balls to fit through.
      Soccer players are so soft it actually makes the sport unwatchable.

      If they were able to get out of the way and let the ball go directly in without the deflection then the goal would have been disallowed due to it being an indirect free kick.

      Takes away from the weirdness and unofficialness of added time in added time, plus it makes it so there’s 45 minutes per half, no more, no less, no subjectiveness from the referee to decide whether to add 5 or 6 minutes. It’s weird but I like it

      @alexchimi7093 Timekeeping in soccer/football has always been absolutely absurd and is an archaic vestige of the era it was invented in before stopwatches were invented and referees just had to guesstimate. It's clearly obsolete and far worse than just counting down and stopping the clock when play stops like most other sports but they insist on still doing things like it's the 19th century out of pure stubborness.

    It's technically in the rulebook that the goalkeeper holding the ball from more than 6 seconds is an offense that is penalized with an indirect free kick, it's one of those rules that never gets enforced.

      And I'll be honest, exceptionally harsh enforcement. Keeper was in control of the ball for about 8 seconds (since you generally exclude the time taken on the floor and getting up). Ref shouldn't have gotten involved

      @@lukelaw8981 the law doesn’t really care if you are on the floor, it actually explicitly says that it’s in control if you are, unless it’s from a save/rebound. This keeper didn’t need to go to the ground so it wouldn’t count imo (and of the refs)

      An indirect free kick means a goal can't be scored directly, meaning it needs to have 2 touches, which happened on the deflection. If the ball didn't careen off the wall, the goal would've been disallowed. what was more disappointing was the midfield shot that went in as time expired. Talk about soul-crushing. I'm afraid that keeper is looking for a different sport to play after that..😳🤣🤷‍♂️

      i’ve noticed division 1 soccer is nowhere near as good as other division 1 sports. i knew a lot of kids getting D1 scholarships for soccer who were very subpar athletes.

      Shot, pass, whatever. Doesn’t matter. just needs to hit another player first. Any form of contact brings it live. Indirect just means it can’t count as a goal without it touching someone first

      As far as I know, all high school and college games use a count down (no stoppage time) like most other sports. Time wasting, therefore, cannot be made up with stoppage time and must be penalized and not ignored.

      American college. It's basically Sunday League but for college students. They aren't serious about playing professionally, the US has another system for those who are. These guys are just picking up a degree

    Why have the USA ball up football. The timer count up, and when the timer goes past 45 or 90 there is stoppage time
    America ending a game of football when a game when the timer hits 0:00 is the same an eggball game ending in the middle of a play at the end
