Hello, How are you doing? Could you please create a video of the location at 7203 Lincoln Heights Court, Richmond, Texas, United States? If you could also make a video on how to sketch such a roof in Xactimate, I would be thankful to you. Thank you!
Wait how did you get the roof measurements before going on roof? You had a diagram. Do you really think an aerial street view gives you the measurements neeeded
Usually the larger carriers will pay for the Eagleview (EV) or Hover Report(s). EVs are ordered from the Claim List view in Xactimate. 95% of the time they take less than 24 hrs to come in. If there are multiple large scale Cats going on, may take 1-3 days.
Can't get enough content like this. Thank you! Quick question: How much construction knowledge is needed to fully absorb the Xactimate training? I think I'm above average for a homeowner but definitely below average for a property adjuster. When I take the course, as plan to do soon, I want to make sure I show up prepared. Also, will Xactimate sync across two computers? My wife and I are doing this together. The ability to share a file seems really important.
@JKBowman, thanks for the comment! I would say you don't have to have a lot of construction knowledge to do the Xactimate (XM8) training and get certified. Where the construction knowledge helps is assessing damage, and thinking through the repairs. With training, most people can write an estimate especially in a classroom setting. But for some, when they're standing in, or on a house looking at real damage it becomes overwhelming. Not because they don't know how to use XM8, it's because they don't know what line items are necessary to repair/replace the damage. Knowing construction helps fill in the gaps. Having said that you don't need to job shadow contractors to get that knowledge. Watching RUclips videos of someone repairing damage is a good place to start. . Regarding syncing XM8 between two computers, if you and you're wife had your own Xactware, ID, Address, Instances then you could share estimates. Example, you start an estimate then upload to the cloud, you're wife could pull it down and finish it. If your wife is using your login credentials you both couldn't be working on the same estimate at the same time.
@pattersonadjustertraining Thanks again. I think that's enough info for me to determine that training on Xactimate won't be premature. I've completed several large construction projects on my own home. I even built a shed on slab in the back yard and installed the roof. It was a great learning experience... But I wouldn't know, for example, what kind of underlayment someone else had just by pulling up a shingle. I don't know a lot about code requirements, etc.. And as I mentioned, my wife and I are doing this together. We've actually been employed as a team since 2012 so some of this feels familiar. She'll need Xactimate also. We haven't decided if both of us will take the training or if only I will. Something tells me you might be the first to know. 😄 But whatever the case, thanks again for the reply. The feedback really helps!
The more i learn about adjusting, the more i get out of your training videos when i watch them again later.
@writeisright5948, Thanks that means a lot. I’m glad they help! Let me know if I can help you in any other ways.

Do you have the measurements or were you just wanting a video, using aerial views, to sketch something with the same shape (footprint)?

I ordered an Eagleview before the inspection. I use street views but only to see what the property/house looks like.
@@pattersonadjustertraining ah okay I’ll have to figure out how to get those ordered then as a new adjuster

Great thanks! Given the projects you’ve done yourself around the house. I think you have ample construction knowledge!
