Getting back into fishing after several years. I have a very nice creek on the edge of my back yard, and several lakes close by. Pretty much wheelchair bound, but there are still places to fish. I appreciate your enthusiasm - it's inspiring. One of my first purchases was a pack of 3" Nikko hellgramites. Keep on doin' what you're doin'. Hope you have a great summer.
The hellgermite definitely answered the call good little challenge
Nice to see a guy using a bait cast and actually have the reel handle on the correct side. Drive me nuts watching guys switch hands every time to cast. REALLY COOL SPOT TO FISH BTW!! Stream fish always fight better then lake or pond fish.
Cool video. Those shoal bass were pretty bass. God bless you and your family and friends...🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
Thank you for making videos because I can't go out to enjoy fishing I blind one eye and othern I can barely see I joy seeing you fishing that makes my day thank you and God bless you 🙏
Thanks for taking us along with you.
Looking forward to the next video.
Some really nice fish there John! You're getting me hyped for this coming season. Cheers man, and thanks for the content.
Beautiful day in the neighborhood. It’s interesting the traffic is cruising by doing their thing and the fish in the river are doing theirs. Thank you for the adventure.
Just watched one of Aaron's videos from the same spot....not sure if it was the same day because you weren't in the video....but man, Aaron had himself a great evening...shoalies, spots and largies!
The last day of my video was the day before John’s video. My video was 3 days though, so John definitely had me beat for most fish in a day!
Wow, what an exciting video. Thank you so much for sharing John🐟🎣🐟🎣
Just found this vid! Excellent evening, thank you for sharing it. My neighbor girl was over playing with the kittens, saw you standing in the water. Stopped, said, "That dude wet his pants!" and ran away giggling up a storm. 😅 She's 11.
haha
Great Video my Friend and the Local River here is full of Hellgrammites but like a Dummy I haven’t tried an yet but that is absolutely going to change lol. Stay safe my Friend Semper Fidelis
Great video, and some really nice fish John! Love your ‘quick trips ‘ to get on a good bite. And the ‘Florida Fish’ poster too, I have a few of those in my ‘fishing room’ also! God Bless!
We gotta get on some more shoal bass soon!
I e dig the shoal bass content you’ve done and you’ve also caught some hammer spots on Lanier I’m guessing lately.
they are always so fun to get
I’ve never heard of it till now
I always enjoy your videos, they are the real deal and natural keep it up
Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee what a Shoal Bass Jon!!!! MONSTER
You're further south than me (PA) but the creek concepts are pretty much the same. It's mostly smallmouth, walleye, and muskie in our creeks but spinner baits of one kind or another, and plastic crayfish, leeches, and hellgrammites take most of the fish. I love working a hellgrammite or crayfish slowly, barely twitching it, and then seeing my line moving sideways without even feeling a tap as a smallie picks it up and moves off with it.
I still haven't caught my first fish off the hellgramite but I believe it'll be soon.
Great video John! Nice strong thick fish. Thanks for sharing! God bless!
I usually throw moving baits and slow finnesse too. Spinnerbait, crankbait, jig, some kind of zman trd or hellgramite, yum dinger or fluke. Thats pretty much my go to lures. Favorite topwater is a choppo and booyah padcrasher. I gotta get me some of those new hellgramites. 👊👍
love these high flow areas - good lure choice, craws work great also
YUUHHH John we need that catfishing on the creek video this year please
I wanted to tell you last weekend caught my first bass on plastic worm. It was on the bubble gum swirl weightless. Of course used your discount for the Yum dinger on Lurenet. Thanks John God bless tight lines.
Good stuff
Fantastic river, loaded with beautiful bass
Great video brother and definitely a bucket list bass to catch. I'm amazed how many times I work a faster bait or power fish an area only to have the soft plastics and jig pick off fish. Blessings John and safe travels
I use the Hellgramite, Bobby Garlands & minnows. Those are my go to three & it's hard to catch anything in Memphis.
Another great adventure! #CreekFishingAdventures ROCKS!
Great size on those fish. Love the area as well.
That creek was full of studs!
Great video as always John! I'm ready to make my first wading trip in Middle TN this week! You inspired me years ago to get back out to the creeks and it's been a blast! Thanks for all you do!
I’ve molded my fishing philosophy from watching your videos. I fish 90% of the time finesse and I love it! I always catch fish that way. Keep it up, John!
Nice I was thinking rock bass before fishing started
I sure enjoy your videos John, so many of your videos i see places with a lot of current, and man i would love to fish those at night for catfish!! I used to enjoy that , and sometimes i would catch 10 pounders in just a foot or two of water...😉👍
I recommend the eurotackle hellgramite. Maybe it's the pheromones. Maybe it's the shape. But it's my new go to for ultralight fishing.
yeah i have used it, it does well
Looking at those Shoal Bass: The first one looked like a variant of a Smallmouth Bass, and the second one looked like a variant of a Spotted Bass. Looks like you had a great day of fishing, and the second Lure that you used, the (Hellgrammite?!?), looked to definitely be the more productive Lure that you used.
Shoal bass ain’t nothing but a Georgia small mouth there’s slight differences they fight a little harder and slight difference in they’re build overall look the same
they could have been mixed, i though one looked like a spot
Man, i love these videos! God bless, brother!
This water looks a good bit warmer than the Hooch above Lanier!
Double Colorado spinnerbaits are killer in the spring
I bought my first kayak a catch 120 pelican went fishing for the first time it was fun just running around sneaking up on bass and a bowfin it didn't bother them
You have great videos, I really like the way you rig your hellgermite. I’m going to try your way next time I go. Thanks for all you hard work and great videos and information. Craig
You were really nailing the fish that day!
Nice. Happy days guys🐟🐟👍.
The third fish you caught was most likely a "spoalie". Shoal bass/spot hybrid.
i used lot of hellgramite too, nice video
I'll have to watch you fish this year I've hung up my fishing pole cause I'm joining a slow pitch softball league this summer
I owe you a “Thank You for telling me about the Hellgermite. I caught a 13lb large mouth on it.
thats insane
Those Shoal bass are some stout fish
I almost left the creek skunked a few days ago. I found a random bag someone left with nightcrawlers in it. So i started tossing one in. Best bass I’ve gotten over the last year on that thing. I am not too skilled with the lures I suppose.
thats a crazy change of events
That right there is perfect for a rooster tail. Take the treble hook off and put a single hook, circle hooks work great, on it to help it slide around rocks.
I like using circle hook for wacky rig but never thought of using on a spinner ,thanks for the tip
@Greg Childers I did it as a kid because the last hook broke off my rooster tail. Now, I prefer it in a swift river. The fish usually snatch at it or run into the bait, so they typically hook themselves as you're reeling.
I was watching a previous RUclips video of yours and you mentioned something about when you used to do heating and air so is this what you do now for a living your RUclips channel full-time
yes this is all i do now
What water are you fishing i live on the flint near Albany the best spot to go is in Newton they call it hells gate , you can have a ball down there just top water walking baits can catch 50 plus shoalies in a day
The river bite hasn't turned on yet. I did get an 18.5 inch shoalie last week but it was the only good bite in a 4 mile float. I think I had the only shoalie posted for Team Creek but it actually got culled on Sunday when I broke 100 inches!
nice man
@@CreekFishingAdventures you might have talked me into trying out that Nikko hellgramite
Heck yeah man well done.
I love spinners I caught 3 yesterday on them
My favorite is fineness fishing
Great video and some great fish
Damn, I need a buddy that will meet me at places like that. I can go almost everyday and willing to get crazy finding fish. Lol. Could be why. 😂😂 Man, looks like fun.
Wow! You came a long way from 2k subs. Congrats dude!
Good timing today! Second commenter! Love your vids and love the variety and I especially like that you admire everything you catch, small to huge. Good work!!!!!!
Yeah that was a good spot!!! Is that the Nikko Hellgramite!
yes
Great video
Awesome catches
Haven't seen the classic intro in a long time.
Started fishing the helgromite last year
I to hit the area with spinner bait the finesse
Nice looking fish. Seems like it fights just like the small mouth
Some nice fish there bud !
I gotta get me one of those hats John.
Good one john
I’ve floated this river before you can catch some nice ones
Red Devil spoon and real Hellgrammites works great in the river i fish .
I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ruclips.net/user/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.
I haven't watched the video yet ill come back and post my review
Great vid man!
My two goto are hellgramite and a jointed rapala minnow
i have forgotten about the jointed rapala minnow, it is a good one
John, I've noticed your improved skills with a baitcastor.
i have been using it a lot
Good video man you caught some nice bass
Just a FYI, there is a lot of gold in that river right there.
HELLGRAMITES (LIVE ONES) ARE REALLY TOUGH TO BEAT. YOU CAN AT TIMES MATCH THEM BUT MY EXPERIENCE IS GIVE ME THE MITES ANY DAY.
Hell yeah man! I dont tgink ive ever caught a shoal bass before! they look like a smallie mixed with a spot. are they just another breed of mean mouth or a seperate breed alltogether in the black bass family?
they are their own black bass species, mainly just in georgia
What the rod and real setups? Most curious about the silver set up.
I didn’t see the difference between the show bass in the large mouth bass what are the differences?
Could you tell me where your fishing in North Georgia. Thks Rick
Good fishing
Nice fish!
If I caught one of those I would probably say it was a small mouth. They look similar to me.
Nice one!
Anyone commenting on the 6th sense draw at 4:46?
That’s what I noticed too lol.
What a great day of fishing this turned out to be . John you are a fishing genius in these creeks Pal. God Bless and GO KATS!!!!!
Are you in TX? That red clay looks like down south.
Are you using any weights other than the lure itself with the mudbug?? I’m a little new to fishing but I fish similar looking areas. Just not sure on how far you want it to sink Down. Thanks, Dan
it was a 1/8 oz jighead
Awesome video bro keep it up
Is it like half smallie half spot? I never think of spinnerbaits in fast water, not sure why.
It is it’s own species. Only in Georgia
Man, that looks like a ton of fun! Thanks for sharing, and Keep up the good work.
What part of Florida are you in ? I'm in north west florida .
Nothing beats a Nikko hellgrammite. How many times over the years have we seen John get PB's on Nikko hellgrammites. Don't waste time with imitations. Nothing comes close.
well they are all imitations, but nikko makes a good one
How does he work that chaw-spittin spinner rig thru 6 inch rapids, rocks & ledges w/o snags & other problems?
You get used to it and editing 😅
i rarely get hung up with a spinnerbait
The double Colorado keep the bait higher in the water also can fish slower and has more thump
Are you using a bullet Z or a blockhead with that 4.25”?
that one was a owner blockhead
Congratulations on 131K subscribers. Didn't! take long from 130K! Someday I hope to catch a Shoalie bass? Always enjoy your videos!
Fun
