  • Some may say that bringing the head back during grand battement is a stylistic choice. For me, this is a utility to help bring the leg up higher. If we think about the trajectory movement that's required for grand jeté, the utility of the head positioning can be very helpful.

Ballet is all about BALANCE and how u execute that balance can be spectacular and lovely... or disastrous and harmful... If Ur leg is moving forward in battement.."naturally" Ur head must go back enough to "balance" the forward "thrust".. The difference in arm positions not only add "esthetics" but power!.. Bravo Maestro!!.. Merci beaucuop!.. ✌️❤️😎🙏👍👍

I really would’ve loved to see you demonstrate the grande jete!! Several times! I want to see what it’s supposed to look like!
Your explanations really stick with me. I take them to class with me and I practice. Thank you so much!

OMG, that thinking about essential details is so important; not very common, though. That's why I aprreciate Mr. Du so highly.

Are those the only possible arm positions? I’ve seen dancers using both arms to the front, the outside arm lower than the inside arm. Is that possible? ,
