I had almost the exact experience with my Ghia dash project. I swore that the PO had glued it down and had to struggle to get it out. Nice that you had a relatively easy fix this time. I am guessing that the owner must have been the one putting the gas cap rubber in after your last repairs. My Ghia seems to idle too fast also...so I better check my choke wire too. Great video as usual. I had to think a bit when you introduced the new word while test driving... con-10-u. Good one.
Much appreciated as always, I'm pretty sure the gas filler rubber has been like that the whole time except when I originally got the car back on the road and put miles on it the weather was much cooler so it wasn't as noticeable or didn't become a drivability issue till the weather got hotter and the fuel vapor was expanding. Hopefully it's all good now and won't be back for some time now lol.
