    Here is my take, I have the same teal seiko 5 for some time now and it's by far one of the most comfortable watches I ever owned. (I owned omegas, tudors, nomos and everything in between) The accuracy has been amazing -3s/day, everything is aligned properly, the bezel is smooth and clicks nicely. I don't really care about gold hands as you can barely even notice it on such a small watch, I feel like this is just something watch snobs rehash for their videos/reviews , same with bracelet... It's fine bracelet, really comfortable for long wear and I couldn't care if it's solid end links or not, I wear the watch and not fact sheets on my wrist... Day to day I don't even notice I'm wearing this watch and that's a huge bonus for me, last thing I want is to be aware of some heavy piece of metal distracting me. The watch gets a lot of high impact movements and is knocked around pretty hard in my day to day life and so far works perfectly. Nothing but praise from me for this watch, if you are still deciding I would say definitely go for it, you can easily get them with substantial discounts online. I would love to see more original watch reviews/opinions and not just rehashed info from what's already been said, but that's my criticism for the video itself and not the watch.

      Haha great review. I too have high end luxery watches but love this one also so much. THE PRICE IS RIDICULOUS WHEN YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET FOR IT. JUST DO , YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS ONE

    I've been wearing my -33 teal watch for days now, haven't taken it off since it arrived.
    My watch in real world use, not on a tester is running 3 to 5 seconds a day fast. I wound it right out of the box and never touched the manual wind again, just getting its power from wearing it.
    My bezel rotates perfectly with very uniform audible clicks and smooth tension.
    I was nervous about the bracelet only having two micro adjustments, but it fits my 6.5 inch wrist perfectly after removing 4 links (two from each side of the clasp).
    My watch clearly has "made in Japan" printed just left of the 6, but I didn't see that on your watch in the video. Multiple production sources???
    I really like this watch and plan to also get the cream color -31 version. The less that 40mm size is becoming a favorite for me.

    Just bought this teal Seiko 5 for my wife’s birthday. The size will be perfect for her wrist and she will absolutely love the dial colour as teal is her favourite colour by far. Biggest bonus is I got it for £60 under rrp. 😎

    I agree with your assessment. The SRPK are visually beautiful...I like the cream dial SRPK31...but I can't justify its purchase price when just for a few dollars more I can get an SRPE93 Prospex and have an ISO 6425 200 meters dive watch with similar design language (except larger and a turtle case).

    Price gap doesn't matter because it's smaller watch for smaller wrist. It's harder to put all the technology in small case that would work the same as bigger parts in bigger case. It makes perfect sense that it's more expensive.

    The 5KX are good watches and this smaller release is very welcomed, but absolutely none of them justify any tag above $200 - specially given that a superior Orient Kamasu can be found for that price and even less. Seiko is ridiculously overpriced these days and need to come back to reality.

    • @Horologique
      @Horologique  Год назад +3

      Sadly you are right

    • @catlike1
      @catlike1 Год назад +4

      Well a few months after release, most Seiko 5 watches can be found 20-30% off retail. Unlike micro-brands and Chinese homage manufacturers who sell direct to consumer on the Web, Seiko distributes through dealers, so need to provide up to 40-50% margin for them. I've bought a few Seiko 5 watches (DressKX, 5 GMT) for at least 25% off. At those prices, I. think they are fairly priced, especially since the Seiko brand is much stronger than no-named Chinese watches. I do agree that Seiko needs to improve their bracelets, and also their QC. But what folks need to understand is that these days Seiko is a watch movement company first, and a watch maker second. Seiko makes hundreds of millions of movements a year (quartz and automatic) and a few million complete watches a year. They operate at a scale that is hard to grasp. I still think they have iconic designs and some of the best dial work at every price-point. Just wish they would improve their bracelets and also transition more to sapphire (though I'm actually fine with hard-lux for the cheaper watches).
