Another very nice Pest Control video. I love my .22" AA S510XS, it's not perfect (noisy when filling and the first pellet easily falls from the mag while in my pocket), but it's excellently Engineered. This US-R version is absolutely lovely with a near-perfect stock, though that cheek-piece would definitely be better in wood -with a removable black neoprene cover to give a soft-touch option. R Ps. Are you aware this video keeps flickering -with a glimpse of you every time(?) e.g. @11:14, 11:34, etc...
Very entertaining show Mr. Manning. I take it that there are regulations preventing a hunter from using Infrared, or night vision equipment on roosting crows. I would think that if one waited until after dark, and used night vision it would take them very much by surprise. They're not considered a "pest" animal here in the States either, so I don't think that would be legal even during Crow hunting season here. Just a thought, but I'm sure someone would have been doing it that way were it legal a long time ago. Anyway, keep up the great work... Cheers. William C. U.S.A.
Because gravity acts straight down so the trajectory of your pellet is different from when you zero on the level. It’s the same shooting steeply down hill too.
Simplest explanation is: gravity has maximum effect when you shoot horizontally (at 90degrees to its pull), so when we zero we're actually aiming slightly high to compensate for this. When you then aim steeply up or down, gravity has less of an effect, so you don't have to aim as high - so you aim lower. R
Hi guys what camera does Matt use in these videos..? Can’t seem too see what make it is or how he does it but would really appreciate any help on this 👍🏻
Does it have a smooth twist X barrel? Maybe you should update to an Impact with a !st focal plane scope and Nielsen slugs, it's called progress mate. I put a reg in my S400 3 years ago, c'mon keep up Pyke!
Hi Joe. I'm afraid it's illegal to use artificial illumination to shoot crows or pigeons in the UK and that includes night vision. Only exception is feral pigeons. All the best. Mat
ah well you learn something new every day! I thought because they where a pest species lamping/NV was aloud. glad you replied before I tried it! thanks!
Hay Mat, Is there any reason you don't use a low level illuminated reticle when the light drops and you're shooting a dark target... is it simply that you prefer the black crosshairs? Cheers for the video; quality as usual.
I watch your show all the time from Texas, USA. I like it better than big game hunting and I love deer and hog hunting. Anyway, I understand why you use the scope cam but I just hate it when you do. I know you sometimes get some better video of the shot, so I am not complaining. I just would rather see you look through a scope and shoot something. Your accuracy amazes me either way. Anyhow, my 2 cents worth and strictly my opinion.
Really glad to hear you enjoy the show. Thanks for the comments on scope-cam footage - we try to mix it up as much as we can so won't use it all the time. Best wishes. Mat
Hey, another Texan! I'm really trying to find a store or a "show" where I can get a hold of some rifles so I can get into the PCP's. I'm in the San Antonio/Hill Country area. Would you by chance know of any places or where I can attend a show nearby? Matt, I watch your show as it is relaxing and found it as I was researching PCP rifles since last year. I watch it every chance I get. Have you thought about making it easier for you by using one of those side shot style cameras which allow you to look through your scope traditionally? It seems to work for some other hosts on other channels.
Excellent presentation and shooting as usual. As for the Ultimate Sporter R from Air Arms, I wonder if this is the same Air Arms that for years maintained that an air rifle need not be regulated? Just curious.
Air Arms S510 Ultimate Sporter R £1148 i will stick to my .22 lr its cheaper buy half, just worked it out and i could by my lithgow arms crossover and 3165 rounds of .22 lr ammunition for the same price as the gun and charging gear alone, now consider air fuel to the gun shop to buy pellets (and the air) over the space of even a year Just get an FAC people !
Does your fire arms officer know your discharging a fire arm in to the air ? and whats with the subliminal flashes of your face , you trying to make us buy a daystate lol
Not sure how those flashes came to be - they're not on the original. That is a very good point to pick up on. It is something I have discussed with my local firearms officer, and have been advised that it is acceptable (with an air rifle) as long as there is a large fallout zone and it's away from buildings or roads. Obviously I wouldn't dream of doing it with my rim-fire. In this case, I was shooting over extensive woodland with a huge fallout zone. Best wishes. Mat
@@theshootingshow it was a genuine question as my FO pointed out i could not shoot birds with my rimfire and still refused to give me an fac air rifle as well as my rimfire even when i told him i was controlling pigeons around farm buildings (hes new bless him) and i have been a gunsmith for 30 years now .... go figure

The flickering is not present on the original video so must be a problem with the upload. We will try to fix it.
Best wishes. Mat
Thanks Mat. I watch everyone of your films. Keep them coming.
watching matt's vermin pest control videos is so dam addictive👌👌👌👌
I just bought a s510 ultimate sporter xs & i love it already, quality rifle. Good shooting as always Matt!
Thanks Mark.
Yes, I really like my Ultimate Sporter and am giving serious thought to getting the high power version.
All the best. Mat
Good choice mate! I shoot the s510 (sub 12) rifle and absolutely love it. I cannot fault it in any way!! Air Arms are quality.
As always, nice shooting Matt!!
Thanks Trevor - much appreciated.
All the best. Mat
Excellent video Mat. Again! Imagine the bag you'd have had if it was legal to use IR on Crows!
what about the raptors heard the pheasant and grouse landies don't like those around either! going on the ones going missing around shooting estates.
The crow shooting sounded like something from a Hitchock movie. Great shooting Mat.
Wonderfull
Welcome to the air gun show 😀😀😀
Great video and cracking shooting Mat, thanks for posting, Cheers
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
All the best. Mat
Cracking episode, very enjoyable, cheers

Great shooting Mat. Anybody else have shots of Mat's face interspersed subliminally in the VID. Lol.
Thanks Kev. We're not sure what the flickering is as it's not present on the original video but we'll try to fix it.

I'm thinking about buying the Fx Dreamline classic I hope you will be able to do a review of that in the near future awesome vid as always
Question. Its been driving me crazy. When I elevate my rifle for overhead shots.....I need to shoot low on target. Why is this?
Because gravity acts straight down so the trajectory of your pellet is different from when you zero on the level. It’s the same shooting steeply down hill too.
Simplest explanation is: gravity has maximum effect when you shoot horizontally (at 90degrees to its pull), so when we zero we're actually aiming slightly high to compensate for this. Nice bit of shooting 👍

I am curious to know what you do with the crows you kill. Do you just toss them or do pets eat them? I understand that squirrels are alright to eat.

Absolutely sublime
Good video great shooting

would it be possible to use NV after the light gets too low? or do they drop into their nests and not able to see them?

Top show again
Just bought an S510r... impressive rifle.... not one for tactical black, but the soft touch just felt right.
Really like that scope. Can you tell me what brand it is?
How do you pick up?
I do my best to mark where the birds / squirrel fall when I shoot them, then pick up by torchlight.

What kind of scope cam you got
If I were to pay out that much for an air rifle I'd want it all to be the same wood not a cop out cheap adjustable cheak piece
Matthew see my comment after yours, that would be a far nicer option. R
Excellent presentation and shooting as usual. As for the Ultimate Sporter R from Air Arms, I wonder if this is the same Air Arms that for years maintained that an air rifle need not be regulated? Just curious.
They make regulated models now
Great show, informative as usual, love it. 👌
Usual good stuff Mat.. Pete in Essex.
Thanks Pete. Hope all's good with you.

Think I would prefer an FX Impact in FAC .25 given the price f the Daystate Redwolf.
na use the daystate wolverine 2 .30 100 ft/lbs like mine serial # hw0135 it will drop anything I live in the USA
I'll never buy Daystate, support from them is absolutely horrendous.
Upload more please keep up fne good work
Thanks Jed. We'll keep them coming - already working on the next one.

I didn't see a needle on the S510 pressure gauge. Busted?
Cracking shots, well done.
TOP MAN MAT.
Hi Matt looks like you had a great time . it have been good to stay with night vision you would have shot a lot more.cheers Dean
Also illegal to do! The only bird you can use artificial light or night vision on are feral pigeons
😊
Istimewa sekali, saya sangat memimpikan senapan ini.
Nice!
Plz more scope-can if u can
apparently this got band two days ago (25/04/2019)
Where is the description of gear during hunting? 0.177, 0.22, 0.25....? Muzzle energy, scope description?
Let’s do a squirrel hunt challenge against each other
😉👍🏻
Matt whats with the subliminal pictures of you keep popping up lol great shooting as usual tho mate

Because it has a side lever cocking mechanism? Grow up!
Crack bro 🔥
I think you were shooting rooks you don’t get crows in large numbers but enjoyed the video anyway
you don't use a crow call blow on the crow call when they look around squeeze the trigger WACK!!!!!! lights out !!!!!!!!!!
Great tip Kenny. I'll take along a caller next time.

@@theshootingshow I use the faulks crow call just a little practice and they will come to feed on the lead sandwich
Nice videos, great footage ( the portion you could actually see ), too much talking. Try another shoot but this time try it when the sun is up.
