    It is really hard to imagine how many Grand Slams Federer would have won if they had not started slowing down the hard courts and grass courts. His game was perfectly suited to the fast courts....he could handle them, it was everyone else who could not.

      they had started to slowing down since 2001.may be earlier.

      @@allboutthemojo Are you sure,that the slowing down of the courts started only at 2010.Becaurce everybody says it started at 1997-1998.

      This court is not fast. Even the commentators in this video called it slow.

    His ability to move and stretch on the forehand side and let it rip was effortless then. His footwork worked like it had a mind of its own. These days he's so vulnerable that side. That forehand has become so erratic now!

    • @goxaviergo11
      @goxaviergo11 4 года назад

      srinitaaigaura it isn’t erratic at all, he just can’t move as fast so he can’t get in the right positions anymore as often to really whack balls.

      @@goxaviergo11 It might have gotten worse this year because of that knee problem.

      Fed's fh was a force of nature back then. So much depth, pace, control. Unreal

      @thebigmonstaandy6644 He was 18036 years old and close to retirement back then. He played much better in 15725, that was by far his best year.

    Fed's ballstriking was really different back then in comparison to the last ten years of his career. He was much more of a powerplayer back then and his shots had more depth and pace. He just blew you off the court with his accuracy and clean hits and he was never overpowered by his opponent. His fh swing definitely changed but I wonder if he changed his string tension as well.

    Kiefer had a small chance in this match, as did haas, and Davydenko. Roger was not fully fit but still gutted the matches out. Baghdatis was not really slam champion material so I don’t mind him missing his opportunity.

      Baghdatis is one of the few players who didn't dope, so he was very deserving.

      Currently yes because Federer is retired... Peak Federer is superior in almost every aspect of the game, especially on hard and grass courts.
