I had 3 orders today, sometimes with college it could be too much to handle lol . It takes me at least an hour to package one item and cut them cause I sell stickers. :) But it's all worth it at the end and it makes me happy!
Yay! That's so great to hear! Yes I definitely agree- it can be overwhelming at times, but worth it if you love it!
I started my Etsy while at Uni and it worked well for a while. But I either I neglected my studies or my shop. Right now I am writing my bachelor dissertation and had to close down my shop for a while. It hurts my heart but I am excited to start fresh After finishing uni
Ugh I’ve been pushing so hard and I can’t seem to get any orders. I get between 15-170 views per day and my prices are literally as low as possible I only make about a 5$ profit. Idk why people are looking and not buying
Melanie Brewster have you got a link to your shop? I’d love to have a look!
aww this was inspiring to hear it will pay off in the long run
Thank you for the tips! How do you make sure your name/ product is not “stolen”? Did you registered your brand? Any required licensing?
Make sure to get a business license through your local county clerks office as well as a DBA ( doing business as) and your federal tax number through the IRS. They also help with other questions.
Thank you for all your tips! I especially liked your photo tips and the soft box recommendation!
Thanks so much for your genuine and sincere encouragement and practical suggestions!! Super Helpful!
Thanks for making this video! I just started an Etsy shop! Looking for best approach to promote it.
I would like to know more about the lincense and sales tax aspect of it. Opening the shop doest hold me back but I'm just having a hard time making sure I have everything I need "legally" I guess is what it is.
I know in Canada small businesses need a master business license and usually cost about $65 and you need to register it with the government and if you hire people they will give you your payroll number and they will give you your business number for tax purposes
@@amandasackfield1991 Hi Amanda, i am here in Canada. do we have to get Business License to open Etsy shop ? i am new to this idea if you could give me advice would appreciate!

Thank you so much! My shop is www.etsy.com/shop/HappyBabyCreationsCo
I just opened my shop with handmade books and hope it takes off someday.
whats your shop? What are handmade books for?
@@ripples1072 It is just a form of art now though at one point all books were made by hand. But it is incredible fun and personal and you can always learn more forms. You can bind your own stories , make art journals, notebooks, whatever you wish. I've made books that were made of collages I made etc.
@@evamonhaut2030 really cool! What's your store name?
@@ripples1072 well I haven't officially put anything in there. But its going to be handmadebooksandarts

Hi Lindsay, I found this video and it was very helpful, so thanks.
I just wanted to ask you: is there any website where I can find information on buyers? like they're income, gender, interests etc? I've been looking EVERYWHERE on google but I can't find anything.
Thanks for the tips! Any tips on choosing a name for the store/brand? Anything I look up already exists, so annoying. How did you come up with yours?
Thank you for the great video, very inspiring and informative😊👍.
Just started my new shop!! LuluBellDecor, digital Downloads and home decor! Thanks for all the tips!
Thanks for sharing!!
This was so helpful! 🙏
Awh yay I’m so glad!! Thanks for watching! 💕
This was really really helpful to me, thank you
Awh yay, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Great tips, thanks for sharing! I opened my shop in July, and it’s been slow (I sell floral crowns, bows, and decor). I am wondering how you went about finding people/influencers to send your product to. I’ve been wanting to do that, but not sure who/what to look for. Thanks!
Nicki Scheck Hi! I think for your products, people from Instagram would be your best bet. Choose the ones who have artsy/auesthetic feed and those who support local products. Try searching popular hashtags for crafts and diy and look at the people with ample amount of following who share those interests (even those with a few thousand followers are a good start!)
Hi Lindsay,
Thanks for the highly informative video. I find it very helpful.
I have a question on starting an Etsy store. What is the minimum no. of items required to start a
store?
Have a nice day.
Regards,
Ashiq
Thank you for the tips!
Of course! I’m glad they were helpful!!
just saw your store.. very nice !
thank you! great info!😘😊
Thanks for all your help!
Thanks for watching! 💛
Great tips!
love the background you use
you could probably make money on the side selling backgrounds like that
I have really been wanting to start my own etsy shop and am very close at I think having a lot of stuff ready for it. But my main question and concern is about the business license and tax portion of it. Did you get a business license when you started even though it started small? Should I go ahead and get one even though I might only sell one item every so often until word spreads? This is the only portion that is really holding me back and would really love some input on this subject. Thank you!!
Thanks this was very helpful!
Yay, I'm so glad!
Great tips- Thanks!
You’re so welcome! Thanks so much for watching! 💕
super cute baby, you should incorporate some photos of the product in use maybe on a model. you talked about that but you do not have any in your store. i would say you will get even more order if they are shown with your baby or other children. I have had an etsy store for many years and my best sellers are the ones that are used the way you would use them. Good video for beginners.
Very helpful. Im going to be starting in about a month. Thank you.
Awh yay!! So exciting!
Thank you for sharing Lindsay! I just subscribed to your channel. I am in the market for a new computer. I noticed your Apple in the back ground.
Thank you! I have been hesitant to start an Etsy account, to sell my Pour Art, mostly jewelry. Someone told me it was a hassle to deal witth taxes and such. This put me off.
Great tips. Thanks!!!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
This was what I needed to hear. Etsy is scary to me! I make handmade artisan soap. Does Etsy charge a lot? How do ya get notified? Thanks so much! Hugz,Tree
the baby is so cute! also this video was very helpful
Thanks for the tips. I like your photo background.
Your daughter is adorable too. My ETSY shop (www.etsy.com/shop/PaperedChef) photos need a lighter background so I will try to make a background like yours.
Haha thank you!!
You and your daughter are too cute together! So adorable 💕
Can you do a Etsy bussiness set up
Great tips. I’m in the research stage. I’m a paper crafter and really want to start a shop and a RUclips but it’s a bit scary. These tips are helpful thank you xxx
Do it!! It can seem super scary at first, but once you start, you will love it!
Thanks, for the tips. 😀
You are so welcome!! 🥰

Awh thanks so much!

I'm just starting to learn about creating planner printables on etsy. What is a realistic income to expect from this venture?
Hi, do you have video about make art printable for Etsy?
How would I go about pricing, I knit scarfs and hats, what's a reasonable price for those? ?
I make horse toy tack for models! I love doing it!
thank you so much
great video - fun and inviting and great tips
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much Lindsey for that informative video! I just have a question. When you talked about using influencers, do you find them on IG or FB and then when they take pics you use then on your etsy listings? Or do they post those pics on IG and tag you and then advise future clients on your etsy shop?
Yeah I find them mostly on IG- and they will take pics and tag me in them on IG- I don't really use the pictures on Easy, just keep them on IG! With their permission, sometimes I will repost one of their pictures on my account and tag them in it!
I have lots of pics of clients that have tagged me and they are wearing my work. How does that relate to promoting my etsy page?
Thank you for this informational video God bless you.
Awh thanks so much for watching!
Hi when you talked about giveaways are you referring to your facebook page or is it something you can do on etsy? I'm extremely new to etsy
I explain it more in this video ruclips.net/video/SADPWNXhnh0/видео.html - but I mostly do them on Instagram!
Hi Lindsay, Thanks for this video...so many helpful tips. I've been selling on Etsy for 3 years and have generated over $170,000.00 in sales- Part time so yes it is possible to sell! There are so many factors when it comes to selling on Etsy. I recently started a blog to inspire others as well.. Thanks again!
