The Native American culture is beautiful! The love for the nature, respect for others, the spirituality. We, the Gentiles, must learn from native Americans so much.
I love this anology used regarding teaching the Gospel to our families, especially our Children. It is true we as parents are the best examples of how to do this within our homes. How grateful I am to have the Gospel in my life and to know that because of it and because of our Savior Jesus Christ we can have joy here on this earth into the eternities.
As a Mormon Native American, I absolutely love this. It is so meaningful to me and my other fellow Indigenous Mormons no matter the tribe and clan. This made my day! Such powerful and deep message.
I'm an Native American and became a member of the church over a year now and recently received the Melchizedek Priesthood. And I'll say my life has been more happy and I feel as the whole of church is my family and I don't want to leave and I became closer to God then I ever was. When I'm feeling down I come to this video, I get them emotional feels and I feel more striving to live a more righteous life so I can live with God again 😊
As a Tewa Native from the Taos, NM reservation I can say this message is simply beautiful. So glad to have converted to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints several years ago. That decision made all the difference in my life and my family's life.
It will bring you joy and happiness and this life and in the life to come. Peace and hope will also forward your life. You will begin to feel your Savior's as you've never felt it before.
It is a journey. Remember to doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. You will always have questions and things will challenge you. Just go back to the basics and remember the answers you get directly from your divine creator. He loves you infinitely and is eager to help you on your way back to Him.
When I was young, I heard the music loud and clear and I danced to it freely. Now my depression sometimes makes me feel spiritually deaf, but I try to remember the music so I can keep dancing. I know I have heard the music. Once in a while it comes back. I hope someday it will be more consistent. It is hard to dance without music.
Hi Heather, thanks for sharing your perspective. There are real spiritual side effects from depression, and we're sorry for the distance you sometimes feel from the Holy Ghost. Remember that you are known and loved by our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. Continue to pray, and also seek help from someone you trust, like a family member, friend, mental health professional, or faith leader. The article about depression and the mental health help page linked below may help you and others. Take care! www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ensign/2016/02/depression?lang=eng www.churchofjesuschrist.org/get-help/mental-health
Keep dancing. I know from personal experience that difficult experiences in life….childhood abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, and so on, can make it very very hard to hear the music. Keep trying and you will hear the music. It might be faint at times, but it is still there, and the more you try, the better you will be able to hear it. The Lord delights to help us to hear the music of the Gospel and will help us and will answer our sincere prayers, even if sometimes it takes years, or decades. ❤ Praying for you to find the peace and comfort that you need.
Who noticed the heartbeat? As a muscle the heart drives our lives. When a song enters our hearts we are moved to dance. The music of the Gospel has to enter our hearts to drive us spiritually.
"And I say the sacred hoop of my people was one of many hoops that made one circle, wide as daylight and as starlight, and in the circle grew one mighty flowering tree to shelter all the children of one mother and one father." - Black Elk
President Brigham Young taught that our “first and foremost duty [is] to seek the Lord until we open the path of communication from God to our own soul.” That is the key to hearing the music.
Thank you for your comment. As a new convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the quote from Brigham Young in your comment will help me as I learn to hear the music.
In the Mormon church, we believe that it's possible that Jesus Christ visited many nations after His Resurrection. We have record of His visit to His apostles, but also the Book of Mormon is a record of Christ's visit to the Americas. Likewise we believe it's possible He visited other nations, but that we simply don't have records of it. If you are interested, there are a few verses in the Book of Mormon that are very wonderful regarding this topic. You can find them at this link www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/29?lang=eng verses 8-13. Enjoy!
It's wonderful! My favorite MM as well. The production values are out the roof! I get really excited whenever I hear that "heartbeat" at the end. It really hypes up the message in a natural way.
@@sterlingblake7655 Have you yet considered the fact that maybe he DID?... There are many great things yet to be revealed and restored. Remember Elder Neal A. Maxwell said that there will come a day when we will need a wagon to carry around all of the scriptures that we shall have... Great things await us, as Israel is gathered from the four corners of the Earth.
Absolutely fantastic video! I feel like in my own life, sometimes I "dance without hearing the music" and everything seems meh... but when I "hear the music", I can't help but dance. Beautiful message!
I know what you mean, "not hearing the music," eveRide. I think that is when we must dance/walk with more faith. For me, living the gospel is not constant emotion or wide open joy. Walking or dancing by faith is necessary in order to stretch our character. I think it is okay.
I hear the music, I am grateful for the opportunity to dance. I still have a lot of dance steps to learn. I want to learn to dance on water. I have a friend who has done it. 2000 years ago He showed Peter how to do it. He wants to show me how when I am ready.
I wasn't taught to hear the music at home. There was more contention than teaching. But, I did learn to hear it through the examples of the leaders of the church. Many of my local leaders were great examples to me and because of them, I can hear the music.
My home is like that now. It hurts. Especially when I'm one of them who makes it that way. I can't let myself continue that. I just can't! I've come to learn that while "because I said so" may be a convenient way to get someone to do what you want, it will not gain you the loyalty of that person. Ever. So much pain could be avoided if we would simply explain ourselves instead of saying that someone is a frustration and a problem. And we might discover that we are the ones causing the problem.
for years I have been trying to tell my son that you can't force me or others back in or join.. Today I had him listen and watch this video and now understand what i had said to him all those years. Thank you so much this was much needed.
This is stunning and such a strong allegory of the gospel. I’ve personally have had the privilege of seeing a native dance by First Nations (Canada calls natives First Nations) performed at a cultural festival when I attended a Toastmasters Conference. The performers asked us to join toward the end of the dance as they danced encircling the room ‘blessing the land and work.’ I’m so glad I joined them when they asked for participation. Truly “those who dance seem strange or awkward to those who cannot hear the music.” We each hear the music in different ways and move differently. But hear it. And dance :).
I am so glad my mother taught me to hear the music of the gospel. Her three children now hear the music and our children and our children's children will also be taught to listen. Now multiply that though out the millennium and that is the gift my mother gave us as a new convert to the church.
I studying in the field of medicine, and have often thought to myself that music truly is medicine to the spirit. We treat all sorts of physical ailments; but the spirit needs healing too. And today we actually have music therapy which helps people of all sorts, to feel uplifted and happy. Even in the worst situations. God bless all.
This is such a great metaphor. I really like the Mormon Church. If I had the chance to go to America, I would probably find a Mormon Church. In Vietnam, we don't have any Mormon church.

I am so grateful to have grown up in a home where I was taught the dance steps of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It has made all of the difference in my life. I was taught by loving parents to look for the music like in this video and today I can say that I can hear the music. I know it's true!

Throughout my life I have learned to hear the music of the Gospel. It is something a treasure and strive to teach my children each day. Thank you for turning this into a Mormon Message! I loved this story when it was told at conference.
Life's story to the fullest! Love it and the message behind it. I am from Alberta Canada and also Arizona....I am very close with many Indians and/or Native Americans. There is such an overwhelming love they show for people there families and this beautiful land our Father in Heaven has given us. I know for a fact that They Know The Music and it is up to us to hear it too.
This is a great video with a great meaning. We can learn a lot from our American Indian brothers and sisters. Our Father Created them to be close to The Father, the earth, and creation. They stay connected to them all because many of them can still hear the music...they still feel the power of God when they dance. Something we all could learn from. Thanks for the video!

President Monson's testimony of the Book of Mormon is---last of all---a "song of redeeming love," the lyrics of which he sang to us again in Spirit in our last General Conference. Those of us who are striving to join our voices with his are of one mind about this Song-Book. We know deep within our heart, that it comes with its own music, dedicated to all of God's children...but none more so than "the remnant of the seed of Lehi." These are they, who, like the young boy-warrior in the video, are learning to dance like David "before the Lord with all his might." (2 Sam. 6:14). May the rest of us learn to do likewise.
I love when y'all take the stories from conference and make them into videos like this :) when that cute boy knelt down by his mom to pray my heart melted. He and that older boy are good dancers. I thought it was cool too when he starts beating the drum and scenes of gospel living come to view on beat. I would love to see more videos where the church highlights stories of other cultures within the church's worldwide membership. Thanks for making and sharing! :)

Good for you. Some will be bitter, but the church is a blessing.

Wow. I can hear the music of the gospel now. The Spirit we feel in everything we do in the church. Spiritual experience.
This is probably my new favorite Mormon Message, it is the best allegory for the Gospel

Agreed. I come from a few generations of good dancers. Hope I taught my own kids to hear the music and didn't just let them see me dance.

This was so well done! Thank you
I love ❤️ this too as someone who likes to dance this is true you have to be able to hear and feel the music. I like how it relates to the gospel and the spirit such as the Holy Ghost.

I'm not religious but good video.
Way cool, how did you find this video?
I loved how they used the heartbeat as a musical motif.
Kai Shinaru whoa nice. thanks for responding
I understand I was on the fast pace of atheism. I'm grateful for the music of the gospel now and have been blessed with a wonderful family and children. @Kai Shinaru It's true ...ALL of it.
I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and I think that the native Americans are awesome people and like every body else in the life, We all belong to one very powerful, wonderful, merciful Being. And we all used to belong Him and His only begotten Son. But to those of Us who fallow them both we are children of God. And in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints We begotten Son's and Daughter's of Jesus Christ. But they both love us all. This time they really really really outdid themselfs .....wow!! wow!! ...
My thoughts exactly!
What a powerfull message this video has. Hope that everyone I know has the chance to watch and ponder it.

I agree, hopefully they make more!
