Perfect Day Fishing on Lake Macquarie during Lockdown

- Fishing in Lake Macquarie during the Newcastle Lockdown brought me to new grounds. Fishing for Flathead I had the Holt Productions swimprawn tied on and managed a few decent sized flathead while meeting my biggest fan.

Seeing lake Mac glassed out always brings a smile to my face! I’m lucky enough to be able to fish it in lockdown as well. If you see someone in a white tinny getting doughnuts come say gday ✌🏽

You fished an area I am very familiar with. Marmong Point near Booragul Jetty. Failed to fish on Sunday (yesterday) due to a strained neck & shoulder from moving a large wooden table about. This Thursday may offer another opportunity in Cockle Creek. Weather for the next few days or so will keep me off the Lake. You had a great day for fishing & bumped into some Subscribers. All good. Thanks for sharing.

Lockdown sucks and has really stopped me from doing a lot of things but i live right on the water (Lake Macquarie) and at least I’m allowed to fish which makes me very happy. Great video, beautiful day, keep it up!🤙

Weathers been pretty good early mornings managed 4 snapper and 83cm flathead on Sunday morning

Great Video mate, anymore thoughts on the Holt production swimprawns? I love using them and love how sturdy they are, but do find I have to use a lot of scent to offset that plastic smell they are made with. They’re a fantastic design by an Aussie company though. Interesting to find that you use such a light jighead, do you find that works better? The lightest I’ve been using is 1/8oz. Cheers 🤙🏼🐟
Thanks mate, I am enjoying the holt prawns, an excellent Aussie made lure. Still learning what techniques work best, 1/12th jig is just something I’m comfortable with I guess. I did try a heavier jig on this day with no luck but will try again this weekend. Thanks for watching 😁✌️

Both rods are good, but I believe the zero is worth the money

I had a td black, was a great rod for its price.
Maybe look at the new td Zero rods. They are a different colour now
What rod reel line where u using graet video keep it up cheers
For the swim prawn, diawa Infeet 1-4kg lfs with 5lb leader.
The blade was a diawa Td zero 1-3kg ULFS with 5lb leader

I live in pelican but really keen to hit swan bay in Marks point, then possibly Swansea lake road boat ramp channel where you were recently, also Black Neds bay near Swansea RSL. I am after some advice on setting up my lure box for flatties and bream to get started. I'm keen to chase flatties and bream. also need to work out hiw i get my kayak on my car roof by myself !!!! Any advice greatly appreciated mate, love the videos.
I have a video coming out tomorrow showing my setup, so hopefully that helps.
As for car topping I used a rhino side loader which helped me.

Umm I'm still learning good land based spots and unfortunately don't know any around speers Point area.
As for tackle, I like the s36 matt black pro lure. The surface bite is on at the moment so splash prawn is a good. And don't mind the bait junkie blood worm minnow

You know there is to be no recreation in the COVID lockdown even if your 5 km away from the water and I was told fishing is a recreation
In my area you are aloud to exercise/ fish as long as you are in your LGA.
I have confirmed this with Maritime, all rules were followed in this video. 👌
