I think there is a Nintendo Select Animal Crossing: New Leaf version that has the Update on the Game Card. The original release does not have the Update. You’d have to download it separately.
When I was younger and didn’t have money I’d sell the carts to GameStop or wherever to afford new games, but I KNEW one day I’d want to rebuy them so I kept the cases lol
Holy smokes dude your right! I bought the digital version years ago (maybe my third game for my 3DS) Thankfully I can still redownload to a SDcard that does not have the game's file yet. Better make a copy for my PC too. Thanks dude. Edit: I may have criticized 3ds version for a few things especially for the dang freaking camera being so dang close to Snake that it doesn't let me see as good as the other version BUT the is something so sweet and special in taking photos or download camo patterns (and other things) from the 3DS web-browser and use it on Snake. P.S. The pictures you can take on your 3DS Home Menu can also be used. I have the MGS3D theme and as a stealth suit it is seriously OP and looks totally badass.
Thanks man for the tips! I just loaded up on the games you listed, having them unopened will make them very high in a few years. Amazon already has "only X left" on many of those. Good call

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Project Cross Zone 2. That game still goes for full price and will probably continue to rise in value. A physical version is also very uncommon to find.
@@dropdeadx21 I enjoy it. It's not the best turned based strategy, I'll give you that. But I still think it's fun. I'd also say it's the kind of game where you familiarity of the characters, and if you like watching them in ridiculous situations, can really determine how much you like the game. It is kind of "Nostalgia Bate: The Game." While I was watching this video, I thought of this game and that it might be a collector's item base more on the characters than the game play.
SO glad I have so many physical games!! I grew up with the 3DS, and I have a lot of late release physical 3DS games too like the Luigi’s mansion remake and Kirby’s Epic yarn. I also have Ultra Sun and Ever Oasis. Very glad I have them!!
I never used to own a 3DS, but my best friend did and he got me into Fire Emblem Three Houses. So after that, I bought one for cheap, ordered all the FE games on some webshop here in The Netherlands. I ordered Conquest, but got sent a copy of the Special Edition. I dont know how they messed that up, probably a confused worker lol, but now I got a 250 euro (or perhaps even more) copy laying around on my shelf. Biggest luck I've ever gotten. I also bought Fates with the DLC on the eShop so I can sell this one later on.
Captain Toad 3DS is not a necessity tho, it got released on the switch on the same day. I would suggest the Wii U version because it has exclusive levels that Nintendo forgot on the ports to promote the other games
@@andresreynoso7254 The switch version sucks. Too much fake pointing. The Wii U version is great but the 3ds version has novelty value and feels more correct to me

What’s the biggest SD card I can use for my 2DX XL? I certainly wanna download a bunch from the Eshop before the stores close. I already can’t find a game I really really really want. (Rune Factory 3)

Most of the games that are expensive and rising value faster are non nintendo games on the 3DS. Radiant Historia used to sell for 40 bucks. Now the game goed for $80. If you got the collectors edition its over $100 Senran Kagura 2 Double D edition goes between $100 to $150 Dragon Quest 8 has gone up in value. Stella Glow is a hard to find JRPG. And is the last game produced by that game developer. Some fighting games on the 3DS are seeing a rise in value as well. Like... Dead or Alive Dimensions Street Fighter 4 While the Nintendo titles are high in demand and maintain decent value. They also are pretty common. They will go up in value slowly over time. But its the hard to find well made non Nintendo games that are sought after by collectors that are worth more and have much higher value.
Yeah, I thought it was odd that in a video about games about to get expensive, he focused almost exclusively on first party games. A lot of them will probably never get real high in value because there are so many copies floating around. Some of them will, like Fire Emblem, but Pokemon and Mario games are everywhere. And since you mentioned Radiant Historia, about two months ago I bought a new copy of that... $100.
Was at a resell store two days ago, looking at ds and 3ds games for some I'm still looking for. In there, I find a game upside down, hiding it's name, and take a look at it by curiosity. 75.49€ IN A RESELL STORE! *KIRBY TRIPLE DELUXE!*
I get mad sometimes as an IT professional because of this kind of video. As soon as we find good deals, someone posts this kind of thing on RUclips, then prices skyrocket.
Tell me about it. I'm only interested in 3 franchises; Metroid, Zelda and Pokémon. Getting all the 3DS and DS releases on cart has cost me a small fortune!
Stop talking so fast lol - Very good video and thank you. I have a question! When it comes to the Fire Emblem games on the 3DS, is some of the DLC pre-loaded within the game itself or must you purchase all available DLC from the eShop? Please advise, thanks.
Senran Kagura 2 Double D edition was only available on Amazon Uk. The company who published the game opened a shop on Amazon and sold the game on there.
It was also available on the Amazon store in the U.S. as well. I know this since I bought it there~ looking at my purchase history now I bought it on July 18, 2015.

Dude I got Psychic Specters at retail for my 15th birthday when it came out. I kept the case and SOLD THE GAME before I understood how rare it was. Luckily I still have 1 and Fleshy Souls tho lol.
Zelda OoT maybe hit 20 bucks. It's at the moment around 7 - 12 But Majoras Mask.. 40 - 50 right now. It would jump to 60 - 80 like Black and White 2. Dragon Quest 7 and 8 3DS are another games with an huge price jump in the last 2 years.
I still wondering if my sm4sh 3ds ver is rare right now cuz i own it for around 20 bucks, there're also some pokemon game and maybe i'll buy it someday
A word of caution for anyone looking for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire be aware that because Nintendo for some reason slightly lowered their production standards on those games they have been failing. Physical copies have been dying and becoming unplayable. Same goes for the original PersonaQ game. Also note that the physical copy of PersonaQ has a game breaking bug towards the end of the game that not been fixed, but was fixed on the digital version for some reason. Edit: supposedly you can fix the games by reflowing the chip in the cartridge, but please have someone with proper skill to attempt to reflow the chip.
@General Freckleface #2 Sadly yes, when the news stared coming out about it I quickly grabbed my 3DS and both my copies of Omega Ruby and PersonaQ. So far my copy of Omega Ruby is still working, but my copy of PersonaQ is dead. I place it in my 3DS and it shows the cartridge is inserted, but it doesn't display the 3D title on the Home menu and never loads the game if I try to play it. Many hours now lost and sad that it happened. Not even sure if it will be worth it to track down another copy if it will result in the same issue.
@@Epicpancakes Yes your Pokemon will be safe outside of ORAS in the event that your game becomes plauged with this issue. This issue is a manufacturing issue during the production ORAS carts and not during X&Y. Just remember to have X or Y updated so you don't encounter the game breaking bug in those games.
@@elgigante2001 is there a chance that my copy of Omega Ruby is safe or is there no way of knowing if it will happen. I just found out about this and it’s freaking me out.
@@Epicpancakes Unfortunately there is no way of knowing, because my copy of Ruby is still working, and yet my copy of PersonaQ is not. And I don't mishandle my games, or system. Nor did I let anyone else play them. It just happened. As far as I know there is no way of knowing if Nintendo made a second batch with proper QA testing, and if they did they told no one. If your tech savvy enough I would softmod your 3DS, backup you game cart with GodMode9 and your save data with Checkpoint. That's what I have done so that if Pokemon dies I have a digital copy backed up that I can reinstall as long as system works or even run it on an emulator.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.s Journey will probably become pretty rare. It's one of the worst selling Mario games ever dispite its high quality, not to mention its failure was a major factor for the bankrupcy of Alpha Dream. I think it will be pretty sought-after in the years to come, so grab a sealed copy while they're still around MSRP!

Technically Pushmo can stil be acquired through a website that I randomly cams across. The game is just ported over to the Nintendo 3DS shop from the website. I can assume that the other game based on it is available via the same memethod. It was available to download way before it was made available on the Nintendo 3DS Eshop.

@@pizzapowerups588 totally. I stumbled across a copy at a random game store southern Tennessee. Picked it up for around $18. And they had Vita memory cards for crazy cheap too! Copped 2. It's so fun to find these treasures in the "wild".
Shin Megami Tensei 4 and Apocalypse are 19.99 and 29.99 on the eShop respectively. If you want those games, get them now! I think the digital version of DQ7 comes with an exclusive theme
Good tip. You can get Soul Hackers and Devil Survivor pretty cheap on there too (and Strange Journey Redux).
i would buy those but i dont own a 3ds so had to emulate :(
@@FlynnMegaTensei honestly, I recommend getting a 3DS. It’s a unique experience
@@derekfreiley7980 i would if i could buy it on my own but can't see negotiating my parents into letting me have one
@@FlynnMegaTensei ah yeah that makes sense. Sorry, I forget what that struggle was like. My parents were the same way.
I’ve been trying to collect rare Switch releases but I’m thinking of switching back to collecting 3DS games, any chance you could post a list of your recommendations in case I miss anything?
Really glad I discovered your channel by the way! 😊
I need to sit down and make a proper list soon, but depending on what you're interested in it'll vary. Pokemon, Zelda, Fire Emblem etc. are all pretty obvious ones to get. Kid Icarus. Anything published by Atlus for sure too.
Anything Smt related
It be great if the eshop did a sale before it closed down. I bet it will sell a lot.
I'm so glad I got Ever Oasis and Monster Hunter Stories years ago lol. When I heard the news, I picked up every single Professor Layton and Ace Attorney game I didn't have. Even if you're a collector, hack your 3ds so you can play region free! Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy is stupid expensive for the US version, but the UK version is reasonable
I should’ve said this in the video! Even as someone who likes owning the physical copy, there’s basically no downside to installing CFW lol
Loved that he knew the top picks for virtual console off the top of his head at the end, and on a whim of his own train of thought. Man knows his collectibles by heart. Great summary, quick and informative.
The ones that i'm looking for now are these: Fire Emblem Fates Birthright, Metroid Samus Returns, Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology.....glad I picked up all the Shin Megami, Pokemon and Zelda games last year....
The Yo Kai Watch series of games are amazing physical copies are very hard to come by besides the first game. I suggest
So glad I was able to buy yokai watch blasters a few years ago at a best buy, not so glad I chose to buy yokai watch 3 digitially instead of physically on launch because I was impatient and wanted to play it asap ;-;
Thank you so much for this information I just recently started to collect for the 3DS and this was helpful!😁
I think there is a Nintendo Select Animal Crossing: New Leaf version that has the Update on the Game Card. The original release does not have the Update. You’d have to download it separately.
Glad I bought Yokai Watch 1,2,3 before the spike!
Curious why you had the cases and no carts? Usually it's the other way around
When I was younger and didn’t have money I’d sell the carts to GameStop or wherever to afford new games, but I KNEW one day I’d want to rebuy them so I kept the cases lol
Metal Gear Solid 3D is a solid pickup. Definitely recommend picking up a physical copy due to the digital version being taken down.
Holy smokes dude your right!
I bought the digital version years ago (maybe my third game for my 3DS)
Thankfully I can still redownload to a SDcard that does not have the game's file yet.
Got the physical version a few years ago. I also have the MGS3 menu theme on my 3DS
I had no idea digital version was taken down :) I bought it on sale some time ago and it cost close to nothing (the cost of a lunch or smth :D)
@@emilyp.4100 Now it’s the price of a 5 star 4 course gourmet meal.
Thanks man for the tips! I just loaded up on the games you listed, having them unopened will make them very high in a few years. Amazon already has "only X left" on many of those. Good call
I feel like a DUNCE for sellinG all my Pokemon Zelda and Mario 3DS games a year ago 😐
I sold so many 3DS games when I was younger 😭 time to start hitting up the local game stores way more before the prices spike.
Yea u probably did sell the most valuable ones if history is any guide. Fire Emblem too
Eh you can also jailbreak and download every game with full features on the 3ds.
@@Alvarocious physical media just feels different tho its like reading a book instead of an e book
Randomly stumbled onto your video here. I have a few boxes full of sealed 3DS and I’m watching your video going “I got that…I got that…got that…” some of these I bought sealed for $10-20 I remember grabbing Xenoblade new for like $5 or $10 at Walmart. Great video!
Love the content! I recently started trying to collect every main series Pokémon game. What an expensive journey
Good luck!
Wait.. when the eShop closes we won't be able to repair our digital games :(( or digital updates. So our physical copies could get messed up and we won't be able to fix them,,
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Project Cross Zone 2. That game still goes for full price and will probably continue to rise in value. A physical version is also very uncommon to find.
That game is ass though. It's all hype
Extra Epic Yarn and Ever Oasis are high priorities for me now! Ever Oasis in particular looks really good!
@@BoTalksGames It’s very lovely! I enjoy it so much, very underrated! Wish it got more attention, or had come out sooner in the system’s lifetime.
I'd recommend grabbing all the late release 3ds games. I think I only need luigis mansion yoshis wolly world and captain toad
Yeah I’m working on those! I still need Captain Toad, Woolly World, Epic Yarn and Ever Oasis
The Wii U version is great but the 3ds version has novelty value and feels more correct to me
I wish I would have known I would have liked Fates as much, because I bought all three versions separately (Birthright, then Conquest, then Revelation). I would have totally bought the special addition if I knew.
It was insanely difficult to secure a pre-order, it would sell out immediately online
You've been blessed by the recommended page
Can you tell me are the prices still going to go up for unsealed games ? I guess sealed games will be higher again? Thanks for your video!!
A rare game to get for the 3ds is Tales of the Abyss.
What’s the biggest SD card I can use for my 2DX XL? I certainly wanna download a bunch from the Eshop before the stores close. I already can’t find a game I really really really want. (Rune Factory 3)
I think it technically only officially supports up to 32GB SD cards, but if you get anything bigger and format it correctly anything should theoretically work. I’ve used a 128GB micro SD card in mine for years now and never had any issues.
@@BoTalksGames how do you Reformat an SD card?
Guitar at software
I'm thrilled that Nintendo is dropping the 3ds shop, because it means I can finally sail the seven seas.
I got my 2DS secondhand (refurbished IIRC) for $50 and a new copy of Ultra Moon (physical) with it in 2019. Glad to see it mentioned here lol, it's literally the only physical game I have for my 2DS and I just keep it in my cart slot :)
This video for sure helped. I need to get on my shit with the pokemon games before they eventually skyrocket like literally every other pokemon. Good shit bo
Get the pokemon games on virtual console it will save you tons of money when you want to play through kanto or johto
New subscriber here. Really like how clear and fast you talk I talk fast too haha
Frogger 3D never got an eShop release. Get it cheap before everyone finds out!
I’m actually going to look into this lol. Good tip
Noted
I wonder how much both my physical copy of USUM would be worth in the near future.
i still love the 3ds and used to play it all the time.
I'd say the nightmare pokemon games to get is Omega ruby/Alpha sapphire and Pokemon crystal
Those are the only games that will let players get Celebi and Deoxys
ORAS games are literally nightmares because how easily they can brick themselves. Mine stopped working like 2 years after its release...

would there be a sale towards the end.Just wondering
Got most these too, what about link between worlds still one my faves
Great video! I like the hat too haha
Gotta grind out those Mario Maker 3DS courses
Very good information here
Every atlus game will be expensive later. Get them now
I live in Europe, do you recommend picking up the physical Nintendo 3DS releases of Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal? :)
You should update all of those sealed games. Or download the updates before the shop closes
Most of the games that are expensive and rising value faster are non nintendo games on the 3DS.
Radiant Historia used to sell for 40 bucks. Now the game goed for $80. If you got the collectors edition its over $100
Senran Kagura 2 Double D edition goes between $100 to $150
Dragon Quest 8 has gone up in value.
Stella Glow is a hard to find JRPG. And is the last game produced by that game developer.
Some fighting games on the 3DS are seeing a rise in value as well. Like...
Dead or Alive Dimensions
Street Fighter 4
While the Nintendo titles are high in demand and maintain decent value. They also are pretty common. They will go up in value slowly over time.
But its the hard to find well made non Nintendo games that are sought after by collectors that are worth more and have much higher value.
Dont forget Tekken 3D. Fucking insane price!
75.49€
IN A RESELL STORE!
*KIRBY TRIPLE DELUXE!*
What the heck 😭
I get mad sometimes as an IT professional because of this kind of video. As soon as we find good deals, someone posts this kind of thing on RUclips, then prices skyrocket.
I'm a bit surprised not all of these games haven't skied rocket yet.
Tell me about it. I'm only interested in 3 franchises; Metroid, Zelda and Pokémon. Getting all the 3DS and DS releases on cart has cost me a small fortune!
Fantasy Life is already rising in price. I would highly recommend getting this game digital before it becomes hard to get.
A year ago i ran into yo-kai watch 1 at a five below, for $5
Now idk if it spiked
I have some 3ds games that arent even opened yet.
(I wanted to record my games on obs for memory's sake but i never got my hands on a memorycard modded 3ds..)
Got the last mario maker 3ds select for 10 bucks at a Walmart. Picked up majoras mask select there too
is it there gonna be a market for second hand games? or collectors are only interested on the new ones
Both! Sealed games will always go for a little bit more but there’s always gonna be an audience that just wants to own it even if it’s used.
So glad I kept up with the Yo Kai watch games I have them all from launch day
Kirby's Epic Yarn is selling for $75 plus
It’s already gone up since I made this video 😭 same with Planet Robobot, that’s going for $50-$60 already
@@BoTalksGames That was fast ! I only need Epic Yarn then I want to work on getting the zelda games.

Dude I got Psychic Specters at retail for my 15th birthday when it came out. I kept the case and SOLD THE GAME before I understood how rare it was. Luckily I still have 1 and Fleshy Souls tho lol.
In Spain the ultrasun and moon are worth around 15-20 euros second hand
I have Pokémon X but I need Pokémon Y and Kirby triple deluxe and Luigi mansion and a few other games
Good thing i got myself all 3DS Pokemon games last year :D
Yo Kai watch physical copies are getting expensive
Especially yo Kai watch 3 I have the physical game and it’s worth about 120
Zelda OoT maybe hit 20 bucks. It's at the moment around 7 - 12
But Majoras Mask.. 40 - 50 right now. It would jump to 60 - 80 like Black and White 2.
Dragon Quest 7 and 8 3DS are another games with an huge price jump in the last 2 years.
I found a practically new copy at a GameStop for retail price last year, last one in stock for a huge radius. Hoping it climbs!
I got a good amount of Pokémon. I know i got at least 2 of each of the 3ds pokemons. But i would love a few more copies of platinum and maybe x and y
I still wondering if my sm4sh 3ds ver is rare right now cuz i own it for around 20 bucks, there're also some pokemon game and maybe i'll buy it someday
How about Tales of the Abyss? Personally I think I might raise in price
Has gone up in price from last year. I picked a catridge in gamestop for $15 in 2020, nowadays it's $35-40 for cartridge on ebay,
Kid icaurs uprising is sky rocketing right now
Honestly Im panicked about getting my 3ds collection up to par again. I sold 50+ games 2 years ago which was such a bad decision lol
So if I trade my favorite Pokémon from Omega Ruby to Pokémon Y will they be safe from a digital doom?
They can't become rare if there not rare now. Valuable yes but there not gonna be rare because there not rare now.
@@monkeytoung but it literally is rare now lol
@@doncornuto3529 @Don Cornuto how can it become rare when it's not rare now? Are you saying valuable = rare because that not even remotely true. Technically Pushmo can stil be acquired through a website that I randomly cams across. The game is just ported over to the Nintendo 3DS shop from the website. I can assume that the other game based on it is available via the same memethod. It was available to download way before it was made available on the Nintendo 3DS Eshop.
Maybe Mutant Mudds and it's sequel can be found similar websites. I know that I found something directly with Mutant Mudds icons and the company logo listed directly inside of the website. I was not fully sure what it contained on there, though. The music from the game was playing in the background, though. I was too caught in awe at the website to really remember anything else about it.
First party Nintendo games were so mass produced that I doubt there will be a huge price jump. Jrpgs and those atlus games on the other hand will absolutely get extremely expensive, so def good to get those while you can. Atlus games have already been enormously expensive because they don’t print many physical copies
Nice video mate 👍
Some jrpgs you should be on the lookout for is definitely bravely default and second, code of the princess, dragon quest 7 and 8, shini megami tensei 4, both persona q games, and Xenoblade Chronicles for the new 3DS. Also definitely get indie titles anything from the shantae series is a definite must as well as shovel knight. For digital exclusives I recommend Nintendo badge arcade that's one way you can decorate your 3DS I just don't know why they haven't made something like this for the switch let alone have picture themes and a personal favorite of mine is style savvy styling star it's a good game for young girls plus this version was a digital exclusive in North America everyone else had a physical copy.
I would say Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is the least of your concern of those games because of Definitive Edition on Switch.
