@Xx Yy OK. ....but I don't understand why they pay for someone like Neil Young than... he is and was political since I know his music - and that is long .... a long time ago
Xx Yy People went to the wrong show. What did they think Ohio, or Rocking In The Free World were about? His album at the time was Living With War, which is entirely against W. Bush. It's funny how so many these people were upset about Young "disrespecting the troops." If anything this song is nothing but respect for the troops, Young doesn't want these people to fight in a war. Being against the Iraq war from before the US invasion and occupation, I stood alone among friends and family in the south. I bought Neil Young's CD because of this song.
Me too sister. We've opposed the war before it began. I didn't think or feel the way I was told to think and feel. All to the disdain of my coworkers and friends, even family. I also own the Neil Young CD. Peace to you
@Everyone here : To those who stood for truth and responsibility, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Neil Young is the same person who wrote "Ohio", "Southern Man", "Alabama", and "Rocking in the Free World". Their faux outrage is hysterical to me. These people played themselves.
It's amazing how people can go to a show like CSNY, Roger Waters, Bruce Springsteen or Pearl Jam and then get upset because they have liberal-leaning songs. If they're true fans, they should know what they're getting into. If they want to listen to bands that represent their political views, there is always Kid Rock and Ted Nugent.

HueyRocks23 Not really. Those “Deplorables” voted for Trump because - among other things - they were tired of illicit wars and meddling. And don’t forget it was HILLARY who was the golden girl of the WAR PARTY. She not only promised NOT to stop the wars we were currently in but promised ADDITIONAL wars INCLUDING threatening the three most dangerous nuclear powers on the face of the earth (Russia, China, N Korea).
@@barryhendrix9401 Yeah? How's that work? They obviously supported Bush (which means they are Republicans) & they got so triggered by this song that they marched out while shouting & flipping the bird (even at the cameraman). Democrats don't throw tantrums like that. Trump supporters do though.
The sheer idiocy of the audience members who reacted in such a hostile manner is simply staggering - particularly the genius at 2:04. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people who claim to be in favor of free speech start foaming at the mouth and become potentially violent the second someone says something that isn't to their liking.
Newsflash: CSNY has ALWAYS been political, and there's nothing condescending about what they said here. I'm not challenging the audience's legal right to disagree with what was being said, and to express that disagreement. But at least put some semblance of thought into it. Try to articulate how you feel and why you feel that way by using reason, instead of resorting to name-calling, flipping the bird and making threats. And when planning their next big night out, maybe steer clear of bands who've been known for decades for expressing political views that don't happen to coincide with their own.
@Xx Yy If i go to a concert of a band which is known for politically themed songs, i should expect exactly this. But okay. Thats lik going to a bakery and start crying because there is bread and you only wanted cake.
@Xx Yy "They were angrt because people paid for a concert to entertain them and let them forget about life for a couple hours. Then he turns it into a virtue signaling condescending political rally. Sure sounds like you agree with them. The thing is, they weren't mad about things getting "political", they were mad because they didn't agree with the politics being expressed. If CSNY performed a song about Democrats being pussies do you think these same people would be complaining about things getting political? Fuck no. But of course that was never a possibility because, as anyone who's familiar with the group knows, CSNY are anti-war, hippie liberals. The point is these people shouldn't have expected an apolitical show in the first place. Just like I wouldn't go to a Toby Keith show (and I know almost nothing about Toby Keith) and not expect him to sing about bombing the middle east to rubble or leading us all in the pledge of allegiance.
What was so amazing to me about this is that CSN&Y was the band that wrote "Ohio," one of the greatest political protest songs ever. They were totally anti-Nixon, anti-Vietnam War and spoke about it repeatedly. All of CSN&Y's members over the years have participated in political rallies and have done countless benefits for so-called liberal causes. Everyone was made well aware that this tour was being done to support Neil's "Living With War" anti-Iraq protest album. What were these folks thinking? That this was going to be the Pat Boone Show??
I think those who walked out can let their comments speak for how intelligent they are. "George Bush needs four more years." LOL - this song was released in 2006; how the hell was Bush gonna get 4 more years?

I love this video mostly because of Stephen and Neil's reactions. Songs like this make people think, make people question, and inspire people to make a change. Oh well. Ignorance is bliss for some, I suppose.
look how many stayed...those nuts that left.....I still don't get it...didn't they EVER listen to them before??? Didn't they know Kent State???? I just can't put my mind around their ignorance...
This begs the question why some were offended by this song, but not by any of the older songs. The answer is they aren't offended by the older songs is because history has shown those point of views to have been correct. But when they KNOW how right that CSN&Y have historically been on such topics, it makes you wonder why they never even considered the possibility that they themselves might be wrong in this particular instance.

Yep, that's Neil for you. He's been an activist for many years going back to the Vietnam War. All those who booed.....go home and try to help find those WMD's in Iraq.
It’s AMAZING... that CSN&Y... would get political at a concert.... this isn’t what these people came to hear!!!!..... they wanted to hear.... Ohio....Instead of THIS....!!!!! How DARE...They play this... Guess you’ve never realized.. that they were a conscious... minded group. Just play nice songs..... like Our House.. What a shame there’s no possibility for a reunion... Imagine what they could sing about TRUMP.....!!!!!!
So quick to call others snowflakes, but they seriously can't handle anything that disturbs their fragile mindset. These are the kinds of people who post those cringey memes on Facebook and live in an echo chamber.
@Xx Yy Than they shouldn't listen to folk music than...and they should educate themselves on the roots of folk music, particularly in the 1960s, when it was a very popular way of protesting the injustices of the Vietnam War. Wake up: music doesn't always get to fit your narrow agenda of "entertain me like the monkey I am".
@Xx Yy We "talked"" about this earlier... what in heaven's name are they doing in a concert of CSN&YOUNG ? "Living with War" doesn't sound like "entertainment"... I'd say buy tickets for another concert where nobody wil try to use you "... as some politcal pawn rally and have EVEN MORE politics shoved down their throats.! " Musicians from this generation are political - and we loved them for that... Real music and lyrics with real statements.... PS : life is political - always and everywhere
It takes a Canadian to show us how far we fell. Even poor Colin Powell fell for the cheap card trick that Dick Cheney and his ilk played on all of us, including our servicemen and women. He's not perfect but he's one hell of a musician with a voice. Use it or lose it. Peace out, CSNY! RIP David.
History...again...has shown the lyrics written were right. As much as I sympathize, I know many of these people wouldn't lift a finger for me if I was dying if they knew I was against the war in the middle east, unless there was a buck in it for them.
Without any doubt, part of that mass mid-East refugee problem had to do with 'W', Cheney, Condi, Rumsfeld & Co.' immoral war in Iraq. Yes, Saddam was a bad guy, used chemical weapons on his own people, yet ‘W’ lied about WMD, and will ever have blood on his hands. As for CSN&Y, luv them, but think they chose the wrong venue to play this song. Perhaps in NYC's MSG, SF's Golden Gate Pk. or Berlin's Brandenburg Gate (Tor), this would have gone over well. CSN&Y...Keep on Rocking in the Free World!
They hear "CSNY" & think "Our House", "Helpless" or "Country Girl". They think "Teach Your Children" is just a sweet ballad 'cause they don't remember the words.
Did any of these people Know the words to Sweet Home Alabama...and Do they know Where they came from? I remember having a house with a lot of girls singing it so loud...and they were black and chinese and they had NO idea of where the song originated from.....Neil and their tour thru the south...and the south not liking what they saw....Those girls still love me....opened their eyes!!!! "AHD LAK TO KNOCK HIS TAYTH OUT, CAUSE HAYS A STOHPID SOM BEEUCH!"
Obviously lives down the road from Bush. Probably mows his lawn. Well, on second thought, he's probably not smart enough to operate a mower. Never mind.
What did those people think when they got to a CSNY concert?
Yep, that's Neil for you. He's been an activist for many years going back to the Vietnam War. All those who booed.....go home and try to help find those WMD's in Iraq.
They were playing guitars with flip flops 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 The shade
Americans leave me speechless.
Jokes on you They still got your money if you left now didn’t they!
NEIL YOUNG FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best videos on RUclips! I come back and watch it often for a laugh
Go on neil you write the best songs ❤❤❤
Love ya Neil 🇮🇪🤘✌️✌️✌️🌏🌏🌏🌏🌏🌏🌏🌏 said it for years
Hahaha I love seeing people “outraged”😁
Lol! Let's sing it again!!
So quick to call others snowflakes, but they seriously can't handle anything that disturbs their fragile mindset. These are the kinds of people who post those cringey memes on Facebook and live in an echo chamber.
Seriously. What did they expect? Oh yeah, these are the same folks who forgot about Vietnam. CSN&Y never sang any protests songs about that either.
@Xx Yy What do you think artistic expression even is?
@Xx Yy You shouldn't expect that at a CSY&N show. Are you an idiot?
@Xx Yy That's like going to a Eddie Murphy comedy show and getting mad at all the F words. They're a bunch of snowflakes.
People won't face the truth. Deplorable.
The ignorant fools!!
“It was a little political” have you ever heard any of their music? What did you expect??
Go Neil ♥️
It takes a Canadian to show us how far we fell. Even poor Colin Powell fell for the cheap card trick that Dick Cheney and his ilk played on all of us, including our servicemen and women. He's not perfect but he's one hell of a musician with a voice. Use it or lose it. Peace out, CSNY! RIP David.
Free speech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trump puts down POWs. IMPEACH TRUMP GOOD SHOW NEIL! Dont let the stupid people stop your music.
what a fucking shame.....such poor ignorant people.........thank you Crosby Stills and Young !!!!!!!
Perfect timing for me to come across this song...
A good song for Trump.
Your a dumb ass
@@shawnlove2603 *you're
Seems the more things change, the more they stay the same.
History...again...has shown the lyrics written were right. As much as I sympathize, I know many of these people wouldn't lift a finger for me if I was dying if they knew I was against the war in the middle east, unless there was a buck in it for them.
Loved it in MA. No War
great song, the truth hurts
Woman at the end was really cute...
1:17 i bet this guy feels ashamed.
+GOOD VIBES Cross-eyed low-watt...
IMPEACH TRUMP! AGAIN!
Have you never heard a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young record before? Fucking rubes.
They hear "CSNY" & think "Our House", "Helpless" or "Country Girl". They think "Teach Your Children" is just a sweet ballad 'cause they don't remember the words.
I think a lot of the folks who didn't approve of the song probably don't approve of the last guy in the video's lifestyle lol
right on
So many snowflakes. “Come to the south and spring this on us,” uh, have you listened to CSNY?
Good 1
Steve Stills is GOD!
I laughed my ass off hearing this live !
Trump supporters 14 years ago
This song effn rocks! Pertains to the current pos residing in the WH spot on! #FUTRUNT #DumpTrump2020 #DumpGOP2020 #BidenHarris2020
Perfect to Neil sings in Brazil kkkkkkkk First The Democrat Dilma Rousseff and now the Republican Michel Temer.
so relevant today
Fuck the south and their trader flag. Now and forever the south is the butthole of America
And They have opened mine also!!!!!! love you Amanda and Winnie!!!!
Back then many people were in loud controversy over Bush's wars. Nowadays, we're all quietly on the same page.
This song needed to be done because it can now be used to expose both parties.
have......they never listened to a single Neil Young song.......ever?
2:02 That guy is so plastered! xD
Did they get lost on their way to a Nuge concert or something? Why were they even there?
oh neil :)
Red necks are funny :)
Do conservatives who listen to Neil Young or Green Day not know the lyrics? Their politics come through their music pretty clearly.
