Yes considering that neither nash or young were on speaking terms with Crosby not long after, it was good to see the original line up together. Only Stills ended up friendly with all the others.
I think this was recorded before Stills got his hearing aid situation figured out -- his speech sounds like someone who can't even hear himself. He has sounded much better in the intervening years.
@blueguitar411, off topic but didn’t Stills go back to grade school or thereabouts with Don Felder? Seems like Stills was the one who convinced Felder to move to California. Don I think even subbed for C, S or N on some gigs when one was ill or something. I’m pulling from a Felder interview I once watched but my details are sketchy maybe.

The title is clickbait. You hear a miniscule bit of content on drug use in the first 90 seconds--and only from Nash--then it's about how they all met. Odd thing is, it was interesting to hear how they met and (in my opinion) didn't require a title topic that is equivalent of putting bait on a hook to catch a fish.
Sadly you can walk down main street of any little town now and find some young person whose drug use is way more intense and insane than any of these 60's rock stars, whose drug use everyone still talks about.
They created an amazing sound. In this, they could just be seniors arguing about dates and laugh to ease tension because it doesn’t matter. Not a point to cause acrimony and pick sides.
Joni Mitchell's account matches David Crosby and Graham Nash's who had just arrived from England to visit her. She remembers they sang, "You Don’t Have to Cry" and described it as "instantaneous" and "magical."
I saw Neil Young in concert and it was the worst concert I have ever been to. It was obvious he did not like performing. Playing in a band with the other members probably brought out the best in him, but he is a jerk.
Interesting to hear Graham talk about the importance of family, since as of a few years ago, he was still estranged from one of his sons (who can be seen on an episode of "Homestead Rescue" and looks remarkably like Graham did about the time "Deja Vu" was recorded).
Thank goodness these guys all met..collaborated fought argued and produced some great music..what they currently do and did with their individual lives is of little consequence...it influenced their music maybe....but who cares...we all have stories past and present😐
i think it is just the old friends experience. friday i got together with several old friends from 30+ yrs back and after going through the current stories of where we were at we drifted into when we first all met and none of us could agree, all erupting into loud laughter and great hugs. was a wonderful evening. just glad to still have old friends.

There is no way Graham Nash began doing drugs as late as 1968. He was in "The Hollies" and was definitely influenced by the Beatles who everyone knew by 1965 were smoking weed. The Monterey Pop Festival was in 1967 and I am sure Graham Nash was smoking dope by 1966.

so much pure talent, right there !
I still listen for time to time to the first album, CS&N, and each time I am happy THIS EXISTS.
