I understand the importance of inside positioning, but as a distance guy who only ran outdoor in college, can someone explain why work THAT hard for position, that early, like GA & AL leg 2 did? Seems like it’d be way more efficient to just tuck in, and let your pace workout positioning over the last 150 or so. The off balance running because of speed, being forced way wide… seems like not a smart use of energy.
@@NikoXC08 looks like they were both pretty inexperienced, that Alabama kid sold hard, if he tucked in Alabama could have gotten 2nd with Georgia in 1st easily.
looked like Bowling started to pass baton at 44.2 and was completely done with the exchange and off the track at 45 flat and GA anchor split at sub 45 too Crazy tough day of running at the top
that second leg was exciting but poorly run, they raced for the 200, not the 400, great job by the Georgia guy to hold off after a mistake on the first 200 of his leg
Sorry as of right now, sumner is as good over 400 as he is over 800. When he runs 1.45 I will change my mind. The guy obviously has the speed and genes. He just needs to put it together
Sumner is a diamond. He definitely is a way sub 45 speedster that runs the 800m.I'll be watching to see if he can ever pull off that rare freak double I've only seen done once by the Cuban Alberto Juantorena in the '76 Olympic 400/800.That'd be an unbelievable double as the USA is traditionally loaded with quarter milers of which I think Boling himself, Sumner's own teammate belongs to
@@paultoy9611 sub 45 is pushing it. The dude has a hell of a 600 though as of right now. Mark Everett was another one. A legit sub 45 from the blocks. He ran 1.43 but with that speed he was more than capable of a WR but had no endurance
They also might have won if leg two didn’t burn all of his energy in the first hundred. How do these guys get to the NCAA level and not know how to manage energy?
@@daltonpulsipher they don't realize that running 4 to 5 seconds slower in the final 200 isn't a good way to run the 400m smh, these dudes be going out first 200 faster than michael johnson
Willie is another amazing runner not unlike Sumner in his speed and 800m abilities.Sumner I knew was fast but I didn't know he was sub 45 fast.If Elijah hadn't been throwing his guts up all day I think Georgia wins that over Arkansas but they deserved the win with that amazing anchor.
Georgias 3rd leg screwed up. Alavamas 2nd leg screwed up. This race is dictated by the last 50 of the 400m. D9nt challenge on the curve, especially if you arent that far off pace.
them boys was battling in that second leg

go dawgs, Sumner killed it on the anchor leg. Congrats to Arkansas on the win.
Props to boling to still run 45.3 off the start. Bailey has that lawshawn merrit going at the end.
Georgia looked gassed. Christopher Bailey looks SOOOOO comfortable to the end.
They were tbh. Boling and Sumner were def BURNT. Them boys competed tho only respect
Boling ran a sub 45 first leg. He handled merge beautifully.
Boling did that from a block start,in the THIRD LANE TOO 40 minutes after he won the 2023 NCAA Mens 200m in 20.12s!
If Elijah had ran I think GA could have taken it. Impressed by Sumner's 44.76 split.
Maybe? 🤔
Arkansas last leg killed it bro
Bailey off that adrenaline rush 😂😂

Christopher Bailey is the clock !
Stones: "Sumner's not a quarter miler..." Bruh, he ran 45.78 in high school.😅
I used to run track. 400m was always the hardest and most taxing sprinting event for me.
Holy shit that race was crazy
44,15 anchor leg!!!!!
Bailey should definitely run the 400
I did😂
@@CB400m oh lol your 4x4 leg looked phenomenal
Woo pig Sooie! Forget about Tuohy and forget about Bowling!!
The Real Champs are Arkansas!!! Adding another 10 points to a 20 point lead!!!! 😁

3rd leg for Arkansas reminds me of Dillon Brooks
He prolly pokes bears
Good race, georgia
These 4x400 always are so chaotic and seem really undisciplined

Why didn’t Goodwin run for Georgia? If he runs I think they win
Godwin was vomiting all day and could only manage one performance for the win at 400m in 44.77s

Christopher Bailey run like Michael Johnson ! The clock tuning style
Willy style looks former world champion Jérôme Young
2 leg of Alabama killed them
where's godwin bro
georgia 2nd and 3rd leg could’ve ran a smarter race and won
That bulldog second leg has to learn how to take his emotions out of it.
I wonder why Godwin didn't run the 4x400? I guess if the team title was on the line, he would've run...
