you gotta keep in mind that these videos describe perfectly established and maintained routines.... basically, no human can do this for a lifetime or a fraction of it. I bet he mess up on 3/7 days. Remember life is perfect, if you're a Disney character.
The combination of journaling and meditation is powerful! Insight Timer is clutch. I've been using it for awhile now. Journaling is great because it lets you frame your day on your terms and brings focus (grounds yourself). I make sure not to check emails or social media before finishing my morning routine (helps to be more proactive rather than reactive).
I'm a bio med engineer and I watched your video and had instant respect when I found out you cycle commute. I'm in Canada and moved from my parents place in the country to the city 27 years ago and have been cycling commuting year around ever since. Spring, summer, fall, and winter. I ride 208 km a week commuting so no workouts, no training. Best thing I ever did was cycle commuting. You can't put a number on the health benefit of cycle commuting.
Mad respect...I do most of these, but can't yet combine them every day in a routine! I work in maxillo-facial surgery in Belgium, where you need both a medical and a dental degree. Would be interested to see a 'day in the life' of that speciality in the US !
LMAOOOO, Like i said during the livestream... only person who perused a career in medicine and still has a sense of humor😂😂🤦🏽♂️ “squatty potty” “dropping off the kids” 😂😂😂
Dr. Jubbal/MSI just....always, always helps to keep me going and being motivated and productive on the road to getting that M.D. at the end of my name. Thank you so much, Dr. Jubbal
thank you so much for this exercise with a small ball, I just tried and it is perfect for my back, I study medicine too and we sit a lot while learning and this exercise is perfect to relax back muscles
Hey, I am nearly a Physician in Germany and I am curious about you guys putting your scrubs on at home and going to work wearing them. Isn't that quite unhygienic?
@@youtubeoverthinking5827 they have sterile scrubs that they put on as they enter the operating room. Also, many surgeons get to use the hospital laundry which basically washes super well.
This So weird. I want to go into surgery too, and literally last night I was wondering what i could do now ( in my undergrad years) to develop the kind of dexterity and discipline that successful surgeons have. Then this morning your video popped up. UM CRAZY!
Anyone who uses a sqautty potty is an absolute genius I love the sqautty potty it really helps to get the inner chocolate soft serve come out this video is inspirational 1:12
Rose, for those who want to save a couple bucks you can just use a milk crate. I personally use a milk crate and it is the same exact thing as a squatty potty saving me 50 bucks
What time do you sleep to be able to wake up at 4plus minus 30 minutes? Do you get enough of well rested sleep that you need to do your work later on as a doctor ? Medical student here
What do you think about the fact that US doctors usually wear scrubs out of the hospital? Don't you think it can lead to even easier spreading of antibiotic resistance out of hospitals?
Oh My God! I am so excited to watch this video! I've been trying to set up a routine as well, and I wished you would tell us about yours, and then you uploaded this! Thank you so much!
hello Jubbal, after seeing you even i started wakign up at 4:45-5 :) i cant afford smart lights but i will try out to wake up a bit more early. What time do u sleep btw?
Hey.. Can u please elaborate more on how to develop the hand-eye co-ordination skills and dexterity that a surgeon needs? I am about to choose ob-gyn as my branch and would like to be more prepared. I don't wanna be behind in my surgical skills.
I can’t quite articulate it exactly, but these videos mainly make feel like medicine is too hard for me. I love science, helping others, and I find the leadership aspect appealing but this level of micromanagement for every moment seems like too much. Maybe I don’t have a realistic notion of what real medicine entails or demands from its students.
Thank you so so much for this. Can I ask... how long were you able to sustain this type of daily routine in residency and med school? And did you have any days off in terms of leisure time? Thank you. 😊😊
Do you wish you chose something like dermatology instead of plastics that possibly would have allowed you to continue being an entrepreneur and a physician?
Kevin Jubbal, M.D. Also I have that app , but I haven't used it in ages . I wonder why ! I will get back to it . Will you ever make a video on your journaling template? 🙈
Foreshadowing that sciatic like pain (if thats even possible, but yes very quickly my feet are becoming numb), best place to order a squatty potty? (UK)
Hey man if possible I'd like to have you on my channel for an interview. I've got 83,000 subscribers and I'm an after prison channel, but I've been talking about CORONAVIRUS in prison and it would be cool to have an actual doctor on
@@kevinjubbalmd i am preparing for step 2 now at home quarantine..so probably that much sleep is not sufficient..and your contents are always inspiring. Thanks Man. :)
Why do you recommend using a squatty potty? Does it help stimulate bowel movement? I have trouble dropping off the kids in the morning right after waking up, so I'm looking for tips haha
Hey Dr. Jubbal, I'm a HUGE fan of your videos! I'm a medical student in the US and just started a med-school related RUclips channel. It would mean the world to me if you let me know what you think! Thanks for the amazing work that you do
Hey Kevin can you give me advice because you're inspirational , so I want to be a airline pilot and I thinking about getting my degree in aeronautics. What you think? Thx
Yes but im close to my future decision i dont know what to choose i dont know to what extent the flaps r sucrssful or even hand repairs on other side eye surgeries are limited and future is obscured please help with my desicion im good at fine skills and imagination What shall i be ?
Great video. However I was realled surprised by something. Did you ride your bike with hospital clothes in the public? It seems very unhygienic if you wear it at wards rounds. Maybe the hygiene standards are just better in Denmark. Uniforms are provided at the hospital and you leave it for washing every day. Best regards from a Danish Clinical Oncologist

Rubbish and everyone life is individualized. Mechanized life poor guy! Free yourself and be spontaneous

hello dude
what time did you go to sleep if you had to wake up at 4am?
Usually he says 9:00pm he shuts off the phone, but picks up a book for 30 minutes of reading.
So I guess he sleeps at 9:30pm
I wake up at 5 and I go to sleep at 10
This is really an intense routine , if i dont get enough sleep I'll look and feel like a goast 🤯 but it is my dream perfect routine 😅

Just take it one day at a time.

yay plant-based protein! nice surprise

Meditation is the one thing I would give up when really crunched for time. Still did it >50% of days. Everything else I did very consistently
Luv that
Recently I can't wake up early so I can't' do anything well during the day. I don't know why💔
thanx doc 😉
Do you wish you chose something like dermatology instead of plastics that possibly would have allowed you to continue being an entrepreneur and a physician?
Yes lifestyle would have been better in derm or anesthesia and I may have stayed, but I didn’t love either specialty as much as plastics
Bro don’t sleep on anesthesia no pun intended. But would really like to see a lot more on anesthesia.
Really interesting and well delivered. How do you manage your IBD? If you dont mind sharing this could be a really interesting, useful health vlog.
What do you do in journaling
What's that journaling layout on your phone ? Is it an app? Awesome content by the way ! Already a fan !

Ali Khalid protein powders are just a protein supplement and don’t contain steroids my man
So did Kevin quit medical residency? Is he practicing as a doctor now or what? Kinda confused on what he's doing now. Can someone please explain?
do you work from home (even before coronavirus)?
Quick question. I understand you were a resident during which this routine was in full effect. At what time did you usually go to sleep?
Usually 10-12 most days. Sometimes later if on call
Black coffee and ice cream helps with the pain
What a dream lifestyle
If you wake up at 4am what time do you sleep?
How many miles was the commute?
Pretty short. Like 1.5 miles
Can you make a video on maxillofacial surgeon sir???
which app you use for meditation??
If you biked to work, would you ever get sweaty? What would you doing you did?
